If it weren't for Rose's brutal murders of those yakuza guys, it would be like one of those action-comedy movies from 80ies, where the bumbling protagonist convinces every single secret service on the planet that he is literally James Bond through sheer ineptitude and good luck.

Desire is bad.

Yes, it makes otherwise wholesome and pure folks want to hold hands.

Strictly speaking, the Prez's intervention to save Satsuki was a deus ex machina, but then again, it wasn't because it made sense that he was ex officio checking up on the festival preparations and that he immediately figured out what was going to happen when no one else didn't: Satsuki has been seeing her body for hours at this point, developing a blind spot for it, while others did not see it at all, so they did not connect Satsuki's standing precariously on a chair with her corpse lying just a meter away. It's nice to see confirmed that he does not want Satsuki dead, even if he is still a blockhead.

At the last pages, I could not help but think of that meme with mirrored bearded blonde guys staring at each other respectfully.

Not sold on the premise, but I wholeheartedly approve of Princess and Genius getting doujins written about it. :-)

I can't wait to see the mental gymnastics Hiroko is going to perform in the next chapter to remain safely in denial. ^__^

And a drinking party is a great plan... usually. Alcohol lowers inhibitions. Humans have been using it for at least ten thousand years to make themselves do the things they wouldn't dare to do otherwise. But, oh Makino, darling... this particular problem does NOT call for liquid courage!!!

And even if it did, let's face it: you probably have zero resistance to liquor and you'll get plastered much faster than Maron.

Also, alcohol + trauma + depression (in Mashiro's case) is not a very good combo. Although if Makino doesn't get plastere first and if Mashiro just opens up to her, this could result in some progress. Wouldn't count on it, though.

Oh, so the reservation was made by someone else?

Yes, the last chapter's cliffhanger was a classic bait-and-switch.

I wonder if the two women that left went home together.

Well, they have a shared crummy experience in common and both like women, so why not

Twist: The player lady was actually the wingwoman for her last night's paramour that day.

super relieved she didn't actually make a reservation...

Our little scumbag is growing. :*) Still, Mashiro is not in a good headspace right now (nor has been for a long while).

I am surprised they haven't recognized each other at first glance.

I mean, realistically, how? xD

The same way they, realistically, have been reincarnated as characters in a book. :-)

"That girl is pretty. But she's annoying. But really pretty."

Eventual conclusion: "I'm down bad."

I am surprised they haven't recognized each other at first glance. Also, the magic of money is still the strongest magic.

They both have a bad case of Anime. How long until they finally have a civil conversation with one another?

A 100 chapters, at least.

My guess that since Rose now realizes that her confessor and Benika's dad are the same person, she has no choice but to go into a full protecc mode over him and Benika.

Wait did I skip a chapter or do I just have bad memory? Where did they hickeys come from?

Do I have to reread fron the start?

(Not that I mind, it's fairly short)

IIRC it's from the time Li Zhixu and Tang Chao had sex in chapter 2. Even though it was released over a year ago IRL, it was only a couple of days in-story.

Sometimes the jumps in the timeline make me confused. (>_<)
When did this cute patpat moment happen? Is it a vignette from the past?

Pretty sure that that's the case.

I am growing increasingly worried about the priest dad's odds of survival in this story.

Three words: Poor Communication Kills.

So, why exactly does Natori suddenly have a calculator on her? O_o

Also, way to break the plot even more, Natori. :D

I can imagine at some point Hiroko asking how Ayaka is doing courting whatsisname, and Ayaka snapping and giving her either a brutal beatdown or a highly energetic sexual assault or both while shrieking "WHY. WON'T. YOU. GET. IIIIITT!!!!!"
No, that won't happen in the story, but it's a headcanon I'm becoming distressingly OK with.

The worst thing is that even after that happens, Hiroko will still think Ayaka is in love with some random dude and is just "practicing" sexual assault on her.

... that tailing scene was nonsense. What was the point of that? If you want to apprehend her, do it right away. If you don't, then, uh, why are you trying so hard to follow her? Everyone's just bored, or what? ^^;

Besides, the thing about trains is that they have known destinations. They kinda are the worst getaway vehicles ...

The whole scene was another aptitude test. They wanted to see how good she is before they offered her the big score. Kinda pointless, knowing what they already knew about her abilities, but maybe they had their own superiors to impress with a live demonstration.

she err on one of her work and maybe they decided to do a test? like what do people wanna here? super detailed extream logic of everything in this story ?

In the previous chapter, she tried asking her operator questions, and I am assuming that once a killer starts asking those, she is on borrowed time, as far as her handlers are concerned. My guess is that the test was a gambit: if she is not smart enough to escape, they eliminate her there and then, but if she is, they promise her the world and send her on one last suicide mission.

reminds me of that one lovecraft story, Shadow over Innsmouth? except maybe with a happy yuri ending this time

Instead of turning into horrible fish monsters, they turn into lesbians

I am not sure which of the two H.P. Lovecraft would have found more horrifying.
