We're getting an anime! I wonder if that poll influenced it after all.

If they're announcing it now, then they've probably been planning it for half a year or more.

Also, I haven't been able to find any official announcement, just a bunch of blog posts and such. Volume 7 comes out on the 22nd, so maybe they'll announce it then. I'll be somewhat skeptical until it's officially confirmed.

What's the point of writing a sequel if the whole thing is gonna be flashbacks to the time before the previous series ended?

Honestly, I want there to be a deeper chemistry that they're ignoring, but I can't tell if that's where the author is going, and it's kind of driving me a little nuts.

I agree. I often wish there was more to this comic than endless jokes about swapping. But then I remember the title, and realize that this series is exactly what was advertised, and the problem is with my expectations.

I'm certain it must be repressed memories, and here is my highly compelling argument why the apparent lack of aging is not important:
...

A compelling argument. Will have to reconsider.

Also...You realize the 80's were -30- years ago, right? (or more, for any year before '88)

I think reincarnation is the most likely, although ghosts or psychic powers could also be an explanation. It is definitely supernatural.

While a supernatural explanation is a possibility, it could be something mundane. Maybe her reoccurring nightmare is just that: a reoccurring nightmare. It might just be some scenario she dreamed up. That seems like the obvious conclusion—if someone I knew told me about this nightmare they keep having about two women who were lovers in the 80s and one of them kills herself, I would never jump to "Those people actually existed and one of them was you in a previous life" as a first explanation.

There's no reason to even believe Mihoko and Kinuko even existed in the first place, much less that the dream is a memory from a previous life.

I would have thought they would have also mentioned the survivors at the university when they got through to the response team.

I think that's what Rii was trying to do on page 6 "There are five of us here. And also—" but was cut off. Not sure though, since the line was incomplete.

Regardless of whether this "dream" represents an actual memory or something else, I wonder if the narration in the first few pages is in-dream or out-of-dream. It could be the dreaming woman describing what she sees in her dream, or it could be the woman in the dream describing her life.

I think it's more likely the former. When the woman wakes up, we see her thoughts, but we don't read the thoughts of the people in the dream.

Not sure of the significance of this, but I think it's further evidence that her dreams are not of events that happened to her. The way she describes the apartment and the character in her dream (in the narration, she doesn't refer to Kinuko by name) make me think that her dreams are not about herself.

Since it still says Ongoing is there an Epilogue or something?

No. The book is fully scanned. I think the "ongoing" must be an error.

Actually I think I'm just being retarded, maybe it's really just supposed to be emphasis on her no longer thinking about suicide - by straight up making it look like lovers' suicide without context.

I think it's more likely a callback to their original meeting, and the line about "even if we're washed away, even if we disappear, we're together" is more a positive statement affirming that they now have the courage to move forward since they're together. Plus the omake clearly shows them coming to school, which would be a bit of a trick to pull if they had killed themselves the previous day.

I believe book authors (the living ones, at least) get royalties when their books are checked out at libraries.

At least in the US, the authors receive royalties when libraries purchase their books, but no additional royalties for books being checked out. I think ebooks work in a similar way, with libraries purchasing the right to lend a certain number of copies at any given time. The publisher (and the authors) get paid for the initial purchase, but don't make any additional money when the books are lent.

Here's a 500 page study on how copyright law applies to libraries in 149 countries, from the World Intellectual Property Organization. Judging by the executive summary, the main reason libraries are permitted to copy and lend works while scanlators are not is because almost every country has specific exceptions to copyright limitations for libraries written into their copyright statutes.

Whaaat, two women readily admitting their feelings for each other and deciding to give it a shot without any drama? That goes against every bit of conventional wisdom that yuri manga has taught me!

I'm almost certain that this was meant to be an epic drama about them each lying to each other and finally finding the courage to admit their feelings, but the author lost most of the pages, left only with the very beginning and the end. That's the only rational explanation for its current state.

People wishing for finished manga to be adapted is like wishing for Yotsubato or Touhou to get official anime adaptations. The chances are extremely low to impossible.

I saw Taishou Wotome Otogibanashi on the list, which is complete, but I think it only finished recently.

Don't forget about Happy Sugar Life.

That's precisely one of the titles I do want to forget.

I'm just saying. It's closer to real yuri than any other title up for vote. Except probably Yagate Kimi ni Naru.

"I don't understand people, and don't like them. But I understand you least and dislike you most"
Oh and I think we are missing a "tsundere" tag here because damn that is the most tsundere confession I have ever read.

The best part about that, for me, was that Oshimi actually seemed to take her seriously (judging by her internal monologue at the time). I thought that was pretty funny.

Looking forward to more chapters to build the story.

This is a oneshot from 2014. I don't think anything related has been published since then, and at this point it's very unlikely any continuation will ever be published.

The title was basically the Japanese for "anaerobic exercise" with "exercise" replaced with "romance", so it probably would have been better translated as Anaerobic Romance.

Oh. You're right. I missed that. "Anoxic" seemed to fit (metaphorically) so I just went with that, but "anaerobic" makes more sense.

Something I just noticed after rereading this again:

You'll pin me on our bed...

...Were they already sharing beds before this all happened?

In context, it's clear that she's talking about the bed she shares with her husband (just look at the next panel).

This was really nice! Much more 'believable' than many stories. The characters are complex but in a natural way.
It's clear to anyone with eyes that Mutsuki is smitten with Oshimi, and now the other way too.
Good clean yuri fun!!

Yeah, the "I don't understand people, and don't like them. But I understand you least and dislike you most" was really nice, haha. That's when you know for sure that Mutsuki loves Oshimi back.

I like this kind of relationship, where the characters are almost compelled by their feelings. Kodama Naoko does it very well—they are so obsessed with each other that even though they try to stay away, they keep coming back. It's a lovely presentation of a relationship so mutually dependent that it's almost sick.

There is an error on page 75:

Top Left Panel

You don't have to worry about knowing where I live, you know.
I don't talk to a lot of people, or anything.
So it's not as if someone would just walk in on us.

is wrong.

—家 教えた事を 気にしてるなら 平気だよ…
If you're worried about me knowing where you live, it's fine—
別に誰にも 話したりしないし
I won't tell anyone.
勝手に来たり もしないから
And I won't just come here without telling you.

So the world ended because careless cientifics didn't wash their hands properly, holy fuck.

I think that was just meant to be an example about how tiny human errors can build up to catastrophe, even within in a theoretically perfect system. Also, how the hell would she know what error allowed the disease to escape? If someone forgot to wash their hands, there's no way anyone could even know that's what it was, much less leave records of it.

The whole lead-up suggested that she suffered something really terrible, and that was important to the story that was being told, but in the end it was just sort of blown off in favour of a pretty mild story about them meeting as kids, and acting pretty normal toward each other.

It seems like an attempt to raise the stakes, before ending anticlimacticly when it turns out there's no substance behind the dramatic foreshadowing. There was something similar in the last part of Cross Heart, where it starts out with Haru so depressed and on the verge of giving in to despair, but then it's revealed that Kotomi just hadn't spoken to her for a few weeks as some kind of petty revenge.

Impressed by the art, but not so much story. It's fine, but it hinges entirely on an absurd coincidence. Also, it left me questioning lots of parts while reading, like "How can she play piano so well she attracts and impresses a bunch of music school students even though she hasn't played since she was 8?"

But it was nice to see these characters again, and the art really is beautiful, so it's okay if it has a mediocre story.
