My thoughts exactly :P the scribbly art style doesn't help really, I had to do some double takes to even figure out what am I looking at

I can't quite put my finger on this series yet, it's just a couple of people being together but the whole thing feels so bizarre

Eh that was actually way more than I expected :P For a character that was shown to be so much of a narcissist, that was as close to a confession as we can get.

Despite how ridiculous that new character looks in general, it's the wine glass on the computer desk that really kills me

pretty sure that miss landlady finally realized that it was a real confession just now. she's going to cross off the last of the boxes with their stargazing and then say "do you still want to be with me?" then they live happily ever after, and bang.

Well, except stargazing was already the 14th box (and Christmas party was 13th). So maybe not as smooth of a sailing as you said...
... but yeah I thought it was pretty clear no misunderstanding happened in this chapter :P

Well let's hope she still feels happy after the school is no longer vertical.
(Maybe the fix will be another "slapdash"...)

...speaking of boxes, I wonder if it also serves as some sort of story progression meter - this feels like things are about to conclude, but boxes still show 14/21, which gives some hope it will continue at least for a bit.

Also, am I the only one who found Euphie and particularly Anise's facial expressions in this chapter jarring? Not bad, just unexpected. I think they indicate the hurting both of them experience in regards to Euphie's current situation.

I think in all the chapters facial expressions are very exaggerated, seems to be just the style this artist chose. But yeah, I definitely noticed this (except I don't think this chapter is special in that regard).

I don't feel this series to be honest, seems more of the same back-and-forth between the characters, and that weird dynamic of "sometimes friends, sometimes lovers" doesn't seem to actually matter all that much.

...to be honest I'm not even sure what I expected, but what I got I don't find too interesting, or even cute :P

Did the translators understand the metaphor for carrot and stick? The chocolate and whip seems identical in effect, and there is no reason for either to have any balance? What balance? They didnt explain it very well in their notes.

Well I think the whole point of that translator note was that a carrot is a rather crap reward for people :P

the way this mangaka builds the intensity of the physical scenes is really impressive. i find myself reading faster and faster as the scene goes on.
