Anyone besides me laughed when Mai woke up smooching her pillow? It happens a lot in fiction: somebody dreams about kissing and wakes up giving passionate kisses to their pillow. It's funny but I'm curious to know if it really happens in real life? It seems unlikely to me. I know for sure that I never did it.

Closest I did was drooling over my bed, and I don't think my dream had anything to do with that. (But I don't remember them anyway, so I guess I can't rule it out completely :P)

Fantasizing about living together? How perverse

She complains throughout the story that she can't die; yet the story started with her desperately avoiding sunlight. SMH

It just makes her weaker, it doesn't kill her. (Incidentally, that's just like in the original Bram Stoker's Dracula!)

I don't know original for either... but this seems to be better adapted than the "magical revolution" one, which I keep thinking as a sort of "companion" :P Not so many excruciatingly long and in-depth explanations of what exactly the characters feel and why, and more of just showing it... I don't know, it just feels way more natural despite arguably more ridiculous setting (floating game menu in the sky, come on now).

(Although don't get me wrong, I'm mostly enjoying both :P)

I on the other hand was wondering how do you exactly convince someone about to get married to abandon that idea on the spot... Like, I would guess than in the usual circumstances it's not going to be easy.
But I suppose this outcome also makes sense, and it makes for a simpler story.

... also, I realized the implication of "gods giving you a chance" is interesting. So what would happen if she failed to convince her to flee? Dying on the spot for no apparent reason? Disappearing Back to the Future-style? Timeline would stop existing and the one where she drowned would just continue as the actual reality and there would be no memory of ever making the attempt? Or would it be the case that the timeline where she failed to stop the marriage would continue on, but then she'd jump in again (and only now she'd drown) closing the time loop?

Thanks for the response!
I think I would more or less understand it as you intended if you just skipped the second "I" (so simply "I wonder if I might like you") since that's the thing that threw me off the most :P It would still be a bit awkward but I don't have any better suggestion myself, especially not knowing the original.

Also, thanks for these translations once again, I really appreciate them!

Sorry if that comes off as nitpicking, but this weird construction "I wonder if I might I like you" kind of killed that whole moment for me, which was supposed to be emotional :P So does she tell her "I like you" verbatim, or is she wondering about that? Like, I'm not a native English speaker, but I'm pretty sure that grammar is completely fucked here, to the point I'm actually missing the meaning. And the fact that this weird sentence was repeated verbatim in the retrospection makes me question my English skills :P What did she actually say?

I know that these translations are a lot of work and we're grateful for that, but this one I just cannot ignore. (Unless I'm just bad at English, please tell me if that's the case).

Lmao at the "very expensive looking hotel" over a bunch of scribbles - it's kind of what I used to do in primary school when drawing in class - writing on stuff what it actually is supposed to be since I couldn't draw for shit

(... and well I still can't :P)

The ending was cute and all...
...but that face from page 29 will haunt my nightmares, it looks like some kind of faceless monster with 4 teeth no matter how hard I try to look at it :P

I swear, they talk in this series so much, and explanations for everything seem so long-winded... I wonder if it's a translation thing or the original also felt that way (maybe it shouldn't surprise me, it's an adaptation of a novel :P)

It's still dumb to leverage your own future like that to make a point.

I mean, do we have a reason to believe she's lying when she says there's nothing she wants to pursue? ... I guess that remains to be seen.

I realized on reread that the "cheeks are cold" comment mimics that scene with mother and the kid in chapter 15...

What is even happening.

My thoughts exactly :P the scribbly art style doesn't help really, I had to do some double takes to even figure out what am I looking at

I can't quite put my finger on this series yet, it's just a couple of people being together but the whole thing feels so bizarre

Eh that was actually way more than I expected :P For a character that was shown to be so much of a narcissist, that was as close to a confession as we can get.
