^^All the genshin impact art would convince you it's a yuri masterpiece. But it's literally just that the designs are hot. Maybe it's just the translation but IMO that game offers actually nothing else from an artistic perspective. Bland characters. Uninspired story. Poor dialogue. Maybe that's changed with this new update, but I spent so much time trying to give it opportunities to be good and I'm not about to go back and do that again.

I was putting off finishing this because I didn't want their story to end, but I finally did. It's really incredible. It's so good that I can't really take it all in and my heart hurts a little, so I'll have to read it again. This story has been so meaningful to me, it's tricky to put into words. But I will put it all together at that time, for sure, and write my thoughts on this series.

Ok, see, now this is more like it. If the adult MC chapters were this sweet too, that would be something to see.

Also, we didn't have a "sudden wyvern attack" type of scenario in this chapter, which proves that they don't need to have semi-sex every chapter. I think they need to make use of that more liberally to help rebuild the stakes and investment.

The thought of having a cute marriage like this... it fills you with determination.

This actually doesn’t strike me as particularly wholesome. The whole, “if you’re just gonna dash my hopes, don’t torture me like this,” “I know that you know,” and “I just keep letting hour color smear all over me,” gives me the sense that this has happened before and Crush-chan is playing MC on purpose. Like MC’s heart is being crushed over and over but she can’t tear herself away.

Together with the whole inviting herself in thing and eating her food, it feels like she’s just exploiting the MC’s feelings to string her along and get what she wants. She wants the MC to be jealous, but doesn’t want to commit to her. And the MC knows she’s trapped but can’t pull out.

I really like their dynamic though. The whole, “I am at a much higher level than you and definitely aiming for you and chomping at the bit for a taste but until some sort of line gets crossed I’m just your friendly ally” thing rules my heart. The closeness combined with the tension, and the sense that you have this person you know but under the surface is lurking a whole other side you won’t get to see unless the Time Has Come gives it all this mystery and sexy sense of danger. It’s really incredible.
