Noooo, this is good but why... why does it have to poke its finger into that one bad muddy grey area called "love triangle". Well, at this point all we know is Suzuki leaning in to kiss Towada, so it is technically not NTR yet (also, yes, the kiss at the end of prequel also doesn't really confirm Towada and Haru-senpai's relationship either). I guess nothing is final here, so I am open to either ending (silently rooting for Suzuki). But if Towada and Haru-senpai WAS dating before this sequel and Towada responds to Suzuki in the next sequel (please tell me there is one), then I will hate the both of them for the rest of my life (though they would probably receive my blessing as well lmao).

Towada and Haru were probably dating by the end of the first story—they both told each other they liked each other, and kissed at least. And they're clearly still dating in the second story. Also Suzuki definitely does kiss Towada. The last page is a close-up of their lips touching.

I'm sorry to break it to you, but Suzuki kissed Towada even though she knew Towada was dating Haru. Sometimes that happens in life.

That was pretty good. Very impactful ending after some solid emotional build-up. It's good to see a character struggling to reconcile her feelings like this.

Reminds me of https://dynasty-scans.com/series/majyo_to_houki_to_kurobuchi_megane

Except less funny. Maybe it gets better.

The older one really abused her trust, that end of chp2 when the younger one tries to leave and she says come inside.. I'm not too comfortable with this.

I imagine we're supposed to be uncomfortable. It's a rather uncomfortable topic, presented in a way that emphasizes this. Even the suggestion that this girl views this romance as a way to feel more "adult" is inherently uncomfortable, especially because that kind of view is not uncommon in reality, and can lead to unpleasant outcomes.

So far, this seems to be a story where the age gap is taken seriously, ethical problems and all.

I'd agree that it doesn't feel like there's any coherent message at all. Or if there is, it's a fucking crazy message for lunatics. Like "never trust anyone" or "love turns people into psychotic murderers". Sometimes a story is just a story.

The message here is "lesbians are crazy predators", and at the end of the day, Shouko's het attraction to that boy will save Shio from the clutches of the mad lezzie.

I don't really see how you've gathered that from this story.

All the heterosexual relationships we've seen (minus one) have been even more predacious. There's the woman who tied up Mitsuboshi and raped him, the teacher who cheats on his wife to prey on high school girls, whatever horrible thing happened between Shio's mom and dad, Mitsuboshi's own creepy fascination with Shio, Satou's aunt's many relationships that involve her regularly getting beaten by men, and then the empty relationships Satou and Shouko had with the many men they fucked. We've only really seen two lesbians, Satou and Suu. Satou, for all the fact that she has a kidnapped girl locked in her apartment, treats Shio far better than basically any other character treats anyone else, and Suu was the least malicious of all the crazy people Satou has dealt with so far.

I think the only way you can take "lesbians are crazy predators" as the message of this story is if you ignore literally everything about the story except the most recent chapter.

Do you really expect common senses from manga?

More than common sense, it's a question of whether the author takes their own work seriously. What's the point of even putting rape in the story if the characters are barely going to react? Why should the readers care if the author doesn't? I'm sure the characters will react to the rape as if it were on the level of say, getting slapped in the face. So why not write it with the girl slapping her instead of raping her?

I'm just kinda surprised that they both kept this secret from each other for two whole years. The one kept secret from her close friend and later girlfriend that she basically had a second job, and the other one never told her that she knew about it from the beginning

So Aoi's gonna get expelled, arrested, convicted, and imprisoned, right? They're not going to just let her go after she fucking raped someone, right?

Well you never know. Perhaps while traveling from space to crash on Earth the Moon undergoes some chemical / nuclear reaction and turns into cheese? It is all just about protons and electrons (and probably neutrons) my friend wink The possibility is always there, so I won't lose my hopes just yet

Let me know. I'll bring crackers.

Holy shit but Chidori is smooth af

Why do I get the feeling that when they are older Chidori will be a total heartbreaker, a mysterious, self-sufficient, tsundere and sexy one.

This is sounding more and more plausible by the chapter.

The way that Chidori is surprised by Nanoha's reaction on this page makes me wonder if she isn't doing this unconsciously. Which would make her even more dangerous.

Pretty sure this one isn’t on the site. Two high schoolers who are also hitmen, a boy and a girl; the girl is a lesbian and her relationship with a classmate is important for an arc; the boy is her junior and his part of the story delves deeper into the subject of child soldiers/abuse.

I think they are part of an organization and clash with other organizations and the mob.

Sorta maybe sounds like it might be https://dynasty-scans.com/series/otome_x_ranbu

You might right. I dunno, I found the ending of Renai Manga very emotionally impactful. I cried a little bit (well, maybe I cried a lot). I think the middle chapters contributed to the emotional impact, though I'm not quite sure how. Maybe I'm just a sucker for sappy drama. Though I do think Cocytus was a better story. Its impact felt more profound, somehow deeper, rather than the superficial emotional ending of Renai Manga.

First one was good. Second... eeeeehhh.. Never was too keen on the bisexual tag. Also fooling around with guys is, for me, kind of unpleasant.

Yeah, I know what you mean. especially when they seduce the poor virgin, with all their dirty het experience.

But... it was incredibly sexy.

The fact they were more connected than they thought gets only brought up literally at the last page and that is the only reason we kinda sorta assumed they will get together. Manga doesn't even confirm it.

Have you read the whole thing? It's obvious that they're together in the extra chapters. I'd definitely agree that Renai Manga isn't perfect. I assume people keep bringing it up because it's the most "normal" Kodama Naoko yuri story. I think Cocytus, A World Without Freedom, and Moratorium have their own charms, and might be better than Renai Manga. And NTR is fucking hilarious so it's alright.

I don't remember what series it was, but in one of her afterwards she wrote that she loves "syrupy" or "sticky" drama, and also that she's interested in stories where the boundary between friends and lovers is unclear. Personally, I really enjoy the internal monologues, and how characters are often compelled to act in a certain way even though they believe it's wrong. Renai Manga had these elements, but it was also a more conventional yuri story.

(pray that this time Kodama will stop throwing in unnecessary drama to torture these poor souls)

Might as well pray for the moon to crash in your backyard and turn out to be made entirely of delicious cheese.

Definitely. Hana saw Machi had a problem, and took advantage of the situation. Machi just went with it and allowed Hana to do what she wanted, but Hana obviously was the one initiating this scenario (she even gave Machi a little script to read for when they confronted her parents).

I expect it'll turn out that Machi really appreciates Hana, and learns to love her, but at this point Hana is obviously taking advantage of Machi's personal insecurities to get closer to her.

Reading Kodama's work is like open a jack-in-the-box. This will either take a really shitty turn like NTR or it'll be another Renai Manga.

I'm guessing somewhere in between, but probably closer to Renai Manga. Even in the first chapter there's a ton of that thick, gooey drama that Kodama Naoko loves so much, but it feels more like a lead-up to the character drama in Renai Manga than towards the hilarious soap opera of NTR.

I just hope it doesn't go down the path Cocytus did.

This story already seems much more light-hearted than Cocytus, which was super heavy from the beginning. Of course there's the obligatory dramatic internal monologues, but at this point I'm predicting a much happier story.

She's talking about her being able to predict her parent's reaction. "I can see it now." As in "it" being what she described in the speech bubble.

Okay, so I was right the first time. Thanks.

To be honest, you can probably interpret it the way you did as well. The phrase is very vague and the fact they assumed she means parents could be actually seen as taking some liberties already. I'm pretty sure I would rather go into direction of her saying "you can tell we are faking it from miles away" than specifically saying her parents would be the one to spot it.

Okay, thanks for the explanation. I got rid of that one, since I'm the one who was wrong, or even if I'm right it's unclear. The other two I'm more sure about though.
