Just to stick my oar in, I think Girl Friends would work better as a movie than a series. The pacing would have to be changed, but there's lots that could be tightened up to allow for that.

Not the biggest yoi fan, but I tend to like it when they're not extreme in any of those directions. So none of this "so twinky they look exactly like teenage girls" stuff, but also not "super duper manly men". I like relateable stuff where you could actually see the characters wanting to be together. If I'm reading something for the gay, I want a believable gay if that makes any sense.

Two top yaoi manga for me, from what I've read, are Mainichi Seitan and What Did You Eat Yesterday? Which probably says a lot about my tastes.
