I think falling in love with someone like this is usually the extreme, and there's a lot of relationships both in fiction and in real life that are examples of healthier relationships. Including users on the website that are happily dating / married lol

Yeah and I can counter argumentate about the huge number of relationships that fail both in fiction and real life. (Specially real life). Numbers in divorce are in a all time high and increasing. I am happy right now without wasting my time with the emotional baggage of romance, why would I risk the peace I have now?

Of course there are relationships that don't work out, though funnily this one seems to be working fine in this story as it's mutually toxic. Being happy and single is good, being happy in a relationship is good, just a toxic story about love doesn't personally deter me from dating. Relationships and people are complicated for certain but in my opinion they can be worth it. Hey though, whatever works best for you. Plus I rather not argue, we simply have contrasting perspectives and that's okay.

I think I failed to communicate properly. It was not this story alone that shapped my world.view on romance. I had personal experiences that made me start to observe the situation around and also some researches on the subject. Unfortunately, I don't feel optimistic about being in a relationship. But yes. I also saw people that worked really well, but the odds still don't seem worth it to me. I rather focus on my personal peace and self-growth. But as you wisely said: Whatever works for the individual.

I think the author wanted to try something new, perhaps a little outside of her comfort zone, for this special issue. Since it’s reaching so many readers, she likely saw it as an opportunity to gauge people’s reactions and thoughts on this different approach to her writing. ^_^
