How would you mistake the sounds as coming from a flat on 1 side of your apartment as coming from one on the opposite side? It would be coming through the wall on completely the other side of your apartment - in this case the side her bed is NOT next to.

When lying in bed you don't hear sound through air, it propagates through walls and floors. It can be very confusing to figure out where it's coming from.

Besides Japanese rooms are tiny so sleeping somewhere in them basically puts you next to both walls.

Personally I always feel that all het romances are just yuri in disguise. It's quite clear that all male characters are modeled after a variety of butch lesbians. If you just removed their cocks and gave them some tits it'd be clearly lesbian. It's quite obvious if you stop to think about it, really.

It's not like Japanese doesn't have the concept of "ou/joou" for sovereign monarchs. Tennou is just specifically the Japanese one, and yes, it's translated as Emperor, but this is more of a prestige thing than any meaningful difference.

Traditionally, an Emperor is either someone who is ruling over other sovereign monarchs, conceptually a "King of Kings" or at least of multiple royal crowns. Or someone who rules by some sort divine authority beyond your average king, like the "Holy Roman Emperor" being crowned by the Pope.

But in practice it's basically a matter of prestige and simply of how you translate titles (how do you translate sultan, how do you translate czar, etc.).

Queen in this context makes the most sense to me since I doubt there's a variety of Asian sub-vampire-kingdoms, nor do I see how there could be some divine aspect to her "rule".
