That is sad... and disappointing. The "usual" people attracted to works in this genre are not expecting to read deeply into it, while the people usually not into this genre are better suited to analyze it.
very accurate !!
the second part of your comment.. YES, this is what I meant by character's gender playing a big role on how we perceive the story.. I don't know if it's a good or a bad thing. All I know is that the dynamics are slightly different when two women are in a relationship compared to when they are a hetrosexual couple. Could be also related to how we perceive a female ways of loving and reasons compared to a male's.
Orange
Nora I must admit I was a little like that when I started reading this...XD I mean I didn't think it was a straightforward story and I had a lot of questions left unanswered but I never really did connect the ideas together.
it's alright, we all started like that.. not giving too much hope or too much thoughts into it.. but insisting on this when the Manhwa is almost over, blows my mind.. specially if that person insists on insulting others' intelligent. (if something like ch50 didn't hit a person's realisation of this work uniqueness, nothing would)
XD I see that grape is the more popular fruit lol how sad XD
they might be meaning "wine" but it could be too early.

On top of that, if they are not reading the official translation, they are reading a very different version. And the lack to definitive "good" and "bad" in the story invites people to bring their opinions and perspectives into discussion, hence you get different standards. I blame Gaji for not spoon feeding me XD
ON POINT!!
the translation of ch4 is disastrous to say the very least. And yeah, the lack of protagonist vs antagonist, superhero will save the world is confusing to some XD.. I've encountered some who are so compelled to force fitting characters in this mold.

Hi, I am new here. I have been reading WDTFS for quite some time now but haven't been on a forum before.
I would like to ask if any of you know other works by Team Gaji?
nope.. this is their first serialisation. However, Gaji, the artist, published two one-shots independently from Lezhin and can be found for free
1- A Pet's Aesthetic
2- Fan art of Overwatch game.

why do I think he was singing about some good private time XDDD
Hahahaha! The song is only as dirty as the mind XD
heheh.. not like I could deny that ! XD
yoonie0104
it could mean being a normal friend or sth
hehehe.. I would've believed that if I haven't seen Sumin's face in ch55, her sweaty and surprised reaction in ch57, or how she jumped to tightened Seju's robe in ch78 or even insisting on having separate sheets back to back sleeping arrangement in ch86. Honey, Sumin is sexually tensed around Seju.. I wonder how Sumin would react if Seju was to kiss someone else. hmm
I am not talking about the emotional part yet.. that's already known XD

I really want to recommend this manhwa to others, but I have to hold back for obvious reasons
well, I know many people who are into novels and such.. I kept recommending this work to them but they are put off by the fact that it's a visual art (comic) and not plain pages.. sigh! (as if plain pages makes them feel smarter than colored panels.. blows my mind!!)
it's actually kinda bitter sweet to have it in this form, difficulty wise I mean.. but I've been reading top works, sometimes nobel prize winners, but this particular work captured my attention like no other.. with its endless possibilities to expand the story for many years to come.
by the way, the fact that they are three women who are into women adds emotional depth that is unusual for both: yuri, and romantic stories in general. I guess even our reaction change by this fact.. I wonder how would we feel if Sumin or Seju were males.
well, I blame specifically the poor media production that is so used to spoon feed the audience so much that they become blind to any sort of hints and cues unless they are pointed out loud and clear with maybe a help of arrows and a laser pointer!.. good art take the audience up, while poor art, goes DOWN to below audience !
and by the way, I am not talking about the confusing parts.. or any of those that needs some sort of serious thinking.. what I read was obscenely simple-minded beyond belief and very repetitive in multiple places

What was that thread about? The debunked Seju and Nammi ship?
mainly childish reading.. taking things at their face value .. double standards, weakness in connecting ideas together and simply not taking dialogues seriously !.. the irony lays when they have the nerve to criticise a work that they don't remotely understand
they truly need to be spoon fed.. not just that, but also shocked in their faces!
on a side note though, after reading a particular thread:
although team Gaji don't have to spoon feed everything they explained in panels and dialogues.. I really WISH they do it once and for all.. I do hope they throw it on the face of those lazy narrow minded readers the way they did it with Nammi X Seju in ch85!
just once and for all
Good God !!!!
about the release date issue:
NOTHING has changed. I know where it comes from, which is from here: http://imgur.com/a/sydoq
but let me explain by an example in here:
now this manhwa is mentioned to be released every 8th,18th and 28th.. but it was already released in the time zone that still has the 17th of July on effect:

Like I said above, Sungji leaving, Sumin realizing her love or sth doesnt guarantee an ending for SejuxSumin. Its not. Seju and Sumin are in a state where they might both know they're in love with each other but to be back to be a couple again is not from that same equation.
theoretically, this is correct.. However, the way I see things going for a long while is to fix Sumin & Seju.. with every new chapter, I see this thing clearer.. remember when I wrote my back wall of text previously and I stated: TG are fracturing Sungji and Sumin WHILE rebuilding stronger connections between Seju and Sumin?
if it does fall apart between Sungji and Sumin, this would only mean that any future relationship that Sumin would have would also fall apart for the exact same reasons!
AND, what happened in ch55 is a very strong indicator that in case Sungji and Sumin fell apart, Seju and Sumin are the only way.
hehehe the last topic get me singing
Hozier - Take Me To Church
I have a crush on him so bad he makes me question my gayness XDDD
My church offers no absolutes
She tells me 'worship in the bedroom'
The only heaven I'll be sent to
Is when I'm alone with you
I was born sick, but I love it
Command me to be well
Amen. Amen. Amen
No masters or kings when the ritual begins
There is no sweeter innocence than our gentle sin
In the madness and soil of that sad earthly scene
Only then I am human
Only then I am clean
Amen. Amen. Amen
why do I think he was singing about some good private time XDDD

Could it be that fact that this is Sungji's first relationship so she doesn't have a reference to what a healthy relationship feels like is the reason why she puts up with too much!
hlama
Hehehehehe XD
hello, Es0tric
With all the girls before Sungji, Sumin was an empty shell without the anima needed to make them work.
in ch27, Seju explained the truth behind this point, Sumin was never an empty shell.. but was drained from a love that she couldn't give or receive
in ch50, this point was once more confirmed by Sumin's realisation
http://imgur.com/a/EE2HD
This leads to the whole "it's different" part. This situation with Sungji & Seju is different from the others before.
true.. Sungji is the only one of Sumin's ex's that realises the baggage.. and saw many pieces of the puzzle that Sangmi wasn't able to see.
Sungji's position in the story, specially the third arc, is really interesting
mpgpeg not that what I meant.. I was meaning to address the chronological order of some incidents..even if the order seems a bit confusing.. so I was mentioning that Sumin was beaten up by Dangouk, went to the redhead's house to talk it out.. broke up.. got drunk..then went to Seju's house as we saw in ch45.
mpgpeg, hehehe.. makes perfect sense.. hehehe I meant elaboration about ch45.. the scene in ch33 flashback took place before Sumin went drunk to Seju's house in ch45.. I thought that this information is beneficial.
yoonie
So how can they make this kind of ending without making Sumin an absolute jerk for jumping from this girl to that girl in a few chaps(aka in a matter of days in manhwa time), not emotionally but physically, yesterday you dated this girl, next day you date another one? No, I dont like them to make Sumin a jerk for an ending.
hehe.. but Sumin broke up with a girl while eating her out and immediately jumped to Seju's bed.. ch50.. also, she gave in for sex in ch55 WHILE dating Sungji.. so this part shouldn't be much of your worries XD (oh wait, didn't Sumin cut off the sex session with Sungji in ch81 to pick Seju up XD)
To make SejuxSumin an ending, its not impossible but hard as heck with this pace of the story and Sungji.
Sungji has all the needed pieces of the puzzle
Sumin, not yet
Nammi's appearance is to ensure the following:
1- she knows about the current arrangement and situation
2- she knows about everybody's feelings
3- she is no longer interested in Seju (getting public and serious about Bang Uri) and Seju is clearly annoyed by Nammi's presence
4- making sure that readers who didn't realise that the doctor in ch38 is in fact Nammi's father are now aware of this info clearly! (he is a surgeon and probably the one who was there when Sumin first got her scars)
connecting the dots is as usual, Nammi's job.. ch16, ch19, ch49, ch65 (and ch50 at least in Sumin's mind)
The series date released have been changed into 9th,19th,29th. Seems like the story won't end soon.

It's also very telling that Ms. Choi and Sangmi were the only two exes that appeared in Sumin's inner monologue at the end of that chapter.
heheh.. correct!
but one is mainly able to connect everything when it is read chronologically.
not necessarily, I think you will have to read it as jigsaw puzzle as what Foxy lady would describe it.
for example: the flashback in ch33 (that shows Sumin's bruises) happened before Sumin went to Seju's house drunk and beaten in ch45.. but to get the full image you have to know both parts. If you need elaboration in this part, let me know.

Yes, to me, Dawoon does not necessarily need to make another appearance, it's all about Sungji's realization.
hehe.. you asked me that before.. you know the answer I guess XD
To be honest, I would have to go through the chapters again to find Sangmi's moments, when I do that, I might see it.
I'll make it easier to you:
ch4, relationship mechanism
ch23, Sumin's careful approach and more about the relationship mechanism.
ch50, well.. that's a famous one.. very clear mental resemblance between the two in Sumin's mind
while Seju has seen many potential marriage partners and she never went further with any of them, as she would not marry unless it was to Sumin.
not only that.. Ms. Choi's husband has beaten Sumin and she married him regardless.. Seju on the other hand, slapped Saehyun and threatened him if he ever tried to hurt Sumin again. ch63
also, Ms. Choi is okay with sharing Sumin and be shared as long as she would be by her side ch32. This is not the case with Seju.
I will requote this from our hair color symbolism discussion:
pink tones down the physical passion from the red color and replaces it with a gentle and loving energy.

I reread some of Dawoon's parts and the dynamics are extremely similar... If Team Gaji actually does tie it into the ending, then bravo to them.
mpgpeg, would you please explain what you mean by this part?
Very possible. I see Sungji as maybe the "last ex." The last one to finally break the cycle that they had going for the past 10 years.
this part is interesting, what Sungji saw and heard is nothing like what any of other Sumin's ex's saw and heard.
Sangmi, the Lawyer, assumed that Sumin is an empty shell.. Sungji now understands that this is not the fact, Sumin is drained from a love that she can't give or receive, as what Seju would explain. AND, Sungji is the only one to realise Sumin's baggage not only that, but Seju's as well. Her relationship with Dawoon, and Dawoon to Camille connects many dots for her and adds perspective. Truly interesting !
again, do you see how Sangmi is a darker version of Sungji somewhat. AND she is one of the most important girls in Sumin's life along side Ms. Choi who is the darker version of Seju.

Nora, I think it's true that Seju wants to move forward (regardless of what had happened between them). This scene also made me think about a scene a few chapters before this (chapter 54) when Sumin said she loves Sungji but added "then what am I supposed to do if I want to go back to you", to which Seju replied "Then all you have to do is just come back to me" which ties in nicely with what you said about how Seju " doesn't care about what happened in the past 10 years and won't avenge Sumin for it".
yes true.. thank you very much. Orange, thank you for adding a depth into it.
Sumin is making presumptions that Seju also wants to go back (by the word "**back**" I am taking this literally to mean in the past), in this case:
- To me, what is interesting here is then: to which timepoint in the past Sumin wants to go back to and to which time point in the past she thinks Seju wants to go back to?
this part is also puzzling me as well.. which point in the "past" was Sumin talking about. All the points of time that you mentioned are possible candidates to what Sumin might've meant.
If we know the answers to both, they would be very telling.
EXACTLY !
I wonder if Seju really thinks hiring Sungji was a mistake (just that at the point she hired Sungji she thought it was the right decision)...I wonder if this is also what Seju was referring to when she said "You don't know. That's why it's called a mistake"..as if also to say that some things may be fated/ is inevitable..because even when you think you think you are doing the right thing, that may end up being the wrong thing and by the time you realise this, it had already happened..(in fact, maybe it even needed to happen before you can realise it)..
About hiring Sungji was a mistake.. Seju really wanted Sumin to move on with someone good and nice, as it was proven how Sumin is a bad judge of personalities. Later on, in ch27 flashback (ch55), Seju went to provoke "warn" Sungji and her reasoning was "because I pity you".. there is a truth in this sentence, Seju witnessed +30 break ups and saw many girls like Sungji.. she knew or expected how it will go.. and thus was her warning to Sungji to not fall too deeply, very honest and sincere. Notice, Seju let the couple be all of the second season.. Seju didn't advance a move, till finally Sumin ruined the whole plan by her confession to Seju " and I love you too".. now, this is a story changing line, they can not go back from this point on.. and the whole game changes. Sumin can not return to be a friend with benefit anymore.. and Seju, who loved Sumin so much, has the right and motive (responsibility even) to reclaim Sumin instead. and thus in ch57 "I am going to get you back".
Was it a mistake really to hire Sungji?.. yes and no. Morally, there is a risk of hurting Sungji in the process, but then even Sungji in ch51 said that it was "her choice" even if she got hurt (http://imgur.com/a/4ZiR7) .. and also, without hiring Sungji, probably all of the three would've missed valuable lessons, including Sungji.

Glad to hear it went well. Sexual ignorance in a first world country in the internet age is quite odd...
I was not talking to Germans.. but my homies XD
there is a saying about this religious thing: you can worship a stone, just don't throw me with it.
my humble self, was never a christian nor my family was.. and still you may find me one day enjoying a sunday at a church.. practicing Ramadan.. going to a temple on the other day.. then later I become so obsessed about Taoism & confucianism XD
Es0teric
even if you do separate religion from the state, we are still dealing with scriptures interpretations within the culture.. and I don't blame religion for every misunderstanding towards the LGBTQ.. because I don't assume that all atheists, non-religious individuals are understanding. (Atheists could be somewhat understanding not because they are welcoming but because they felt the burn of being discriminated ) .. oh God, the hypocrite atheists are really something!.. they tell me that they are okay with two girls kissing but two guys is two yuk for him/her hehehehe, the hell is that!
To be honest I believe religion holds us back but i'm fine with people having a belief, it should though just be a personal one that does not encroach on others.
remember what I mentioned about rituals and customs:
they are a part of our human creation that at some point embodied wisdom and reasoning.. with time, people memic them automotically and forget the essence of them. That's when those customs and rituals lose their meanings from enriching our lives to restraining it.
same is applicable to religion. It should never ever stop our nature or hinder us.
mpgpeg
thank you alot.
On another note, good job last time thinking Sumin might have stayed. Technically, she did leave, but she came back by her own will and guilt. So, nice. :D
hehe.. I was conflicted about this part to be honest.
Job related or self-inflicted and how did it go?
went well.. I used facts and played it safe.. same approach I use always XD.. it went nice.. I gave some resources and interpretation .. and left some loose ends. Not job related, but somehow it's a responsibility
Conservatives, usually older folks, have already developed value and belief. Homosexuality is something that contradicts their value. I am curious on how you guys approach this topic.
not old folks, but rather a strongly traditional and religious community.. but Homosexuality/Asexuality is not the real issue, but sexual ignorance is.
