My guy, she's not straight. Marika is gayer than the sun is hot. She's just in the closet and has too much pride to admit otherwise because admitting she was wrong would be a blow to her ego.

From what I understand it seems like she was doing these things for the sake of money, and an "easy win", but it's entirely possible I missed something.

Well, she certainly hadn't considered she might be swinging this way before all this, but her reactions every time Aya gets closer to her clearly show she's already falling for her even without the need of Aya's "education".

Yeah I suppose that's true. I mainly thought the author intended her reactions and inner thoughts to be due to Aya's "education", and pushiness. So that's why I thought the author was really pushing for a conversation angle, and it rubbed me the wrong way. Again though, maybe I misinterpreted the author's intent.

^Oh yeah, I wasn't trying to be harsh. Apologies if I was, I was just curious if I was out of the loop with something, maybe a meme. Yeah google translation messes up gender constantly, whenever Chrome auto translates Yuri posts on Twitter it says the characters are male, and I'm like okay then...

^Kiara's Valentine's Song is a confession song, the confession is meant for Calli. You can see Kiara handing a box of chocolates to Calli's hands at about 3:45. The video art is also by Mamaloni, an artist that's been very active with the Takamori ship, and even drawing art for Kiara for things like the music video.

The first chapter, I was thinking this would be more of a silly and absurd take on the "I bet I can make you fall in love with me" type of narrative, just with an added gambling element for the sake of I suppose...flare? However the second chapter is honestly just offensive? A straight girl is supposedly going to become gay...by being hugged while watching lesbian porn...

Just, what even.

Edit: Is this manga just this meme/joke comic?

Holy hell those canines. Made me think this was going to turn into a vampire story before I looked at the tags.

Going by the emoji on the source and this post, Yuri's supposed to be a snakegirl here - you just can't see her tail.

You can also see hexagons that represent scales on her arms

Nice catch. This is definitely the artist's snake girl OC, and they even use the snake emoji in the post for this comic. So I think we can safely tag this with monster girl?

^Eh? Since when? I mean I'm not super in the know about the meta, and I know the game favors DPS checks with the likes of time limits, but I think for a decent amount of gameplay you can still use the character teams that you like pretty easily.

When there's an extremely long and descriptive title, you know that it's either a LN adaptation or a Twitter comic. Honestly, I was expecting the latter.

lol It's actually amazing how the "long sentence as the title" for LN, manga, and anime hasn't fallen out of vogue yet. I guess it's proven to be an effective way to draw in readers if the cover artwork isn't enough considering the sheer volume of stuff coming out of Japan every day.

From my understanding it's popular because it gives readers a brief summary of the series in the title. As you said a massive quantity of content comes out every day, and people often don't know what to buy and don't want to take the time to read every summary, so authors adapted by putting a "TLDR" summary in titles. It's just part of the market in an attempt to stay competitive.

I've seen "how to have sex with another girl" googled in several manga before, but "how to have sex with a female hamster" will definitely be a first...

Here we go again

I was hoping someone would say that. I think it summarizes every experience with this author.

It's the power of friendship. Again.

I mean...yeah? This chapter literally summarizes the main character's hero name and the title of the series. The whole point is that she's a shy person, someone that feels like she can't reach out for help, but she's learning how to do so as the series progresses and her character develops.

An entirely realistic point to a lot of narratives like this, and more specifically the friendship narrative, is that we rely on people in major ways because it's impossible for a single person to be good at everything, and we commonly seek emotional support from like minded people and communities. We rely on people we don't even know to transport our food, water, and so fourth. Humans being stubborn and trying to do everything themselves is very common, but entirely foolish. I'm sure I'm stating the obvious here, but I think it's a pretty tried and true narrative.

Edit: From what I remember "relying on other people and the power of emotions" has been a central part of the narrative since the very start. The series isn't trying to reinvent the wheel but instead focuses on making something entertaining out of familiar concepts. Another thing with Shy is that she's learning even super heroes need help from other people.

Are several people here just talking about eating shit? I really hope you're just going for shock value and aren't actually being serious.

^Lets just take a moment to retract that statement. Preferably, at least for me, they cleaned themselves BEFORE eating ass. Implying that they're cleaning ass via oral is horrifically disgusting.

People that are obsessed with someone should never actually become a lover of that person. That's a recipe for total disaster. Shannon and the werewolf girl would be adorable together, and Maria and Dorothy just need to fuck already.

For real, everyone is out here wanting Maria x Shannon like did y'all already forget about the manga setting up Kiki as a potential love interest for Shannon? Maria and Shannon give off rival vibes to me, while its good they see eye to eye more now I can't see them being anything more than that with the series obviously pushing the two of them in different directions relationship-wise.

Eh, Dorothy just treats her like a dog and probably has a ton of issues. It feels more like a master / servant relationship or like that "romance" in Inuyasha. Kinda kinky, somewhat toxic. Maria and Shannon feel like they could at least somwhat respect each other. I don't care for Kiki too much yet. She feels a bit shoved in last minute, just so Shannon will have a love interest in the last chapter or something.

I'd disagree myself. I don't think Kiki was just shoehorned into the story last minute only for the sake of romance, mainly because I think she's an important introduction to Werewolves. Something we hadn't previously seen in this series. She showed up because something was going down with the Vampires being more active, and she hunts vampires. Which I think is a fine way to introduce her character, and tie her into the current plot. If the author is smart about it, her character will be expanded on as we progress, and there will be more reason to care about her. It's just she's a new character right now and there's a lot to learn about her.

Edit: Also I wish the author a speedy and healthy recovery! Capral tunnel sucks :\

@KZA, Sometimes things can get a bit possessive, but well I think they constantly do make strides towards talking things out better, and having an even healthier relationship.

Are you joking, it's ending? This was a good series, will be sad to see it finish. I feel like the pacing got a little muddled in the last few chapters. But besides that, has been very enjoyable read.

Personally I'm fine with the pacing at the end here. I think it feels like things sped up because they finally took numerous steps forward at once, from the characters previously pacing back and fourth with uncertainties. So I understand how it can feel a little off in the pacing, but in my opinion it actually works well. Plus it's nice that the story isn't drawing things out more, often times I feel romance stories go on for far too long and the author loses focus.

I'm with "DatYuriAddict" here. I think their relationship is usually healthy, a lot of people have some jealousy in relationships as it's a pretty human emotion, the key is to talk about it and use that communication to sort out their feelings together.

^I think part of it is that it's a food commonly eaten a festivals, and it's a treat. So it's something fun to buy and eat, I'd argue these factors make it more than just simply an apple with sugar coating.
