no...not again...not like this...

The trauma from Whispering You a Love Song is seeping into this thread.

We're never getting out of this room, are we? Remember the days when this manga had scenes in places other than this room? Before the never-ending sleepover?

Every series I'm reading is fumbling right now. I'm in despair. Even this neverending room isn't worse than what's happening in Anemone right now though.

If it makes you feel any better the animistic nature of ABO means those genitals are almost certainly not intended to be the recognizable human ones you might be imagining lol

Oh the one I had read was definitely the human realistic type and on top of that very r*pey too. I don't know if it makes me feel better imagining they have some wolf d**k instead of a human though lol. For now this story looks great and it's good that these parts are censored, although it would be better if we could just get "regular" yuri scenes uncensored lol

I've never seen anything that was animalistic personally. And in most of what I've read the female alpha has access to both (without going into detail). I'm assuming that's what this series does as well.

This comic went as far as having the scent glands in the neck that can be supressed through biting. This is on the high end of animal traits for ABO I think, clearly not particularly caring about human anatomy, so I wouldn't rule out anything lol. It's practically a crypto-furry story :P

Having glands is typical though, not extreme. I think every series I've read has glands and marking. Those are pretty much staples. That doesn't translate to the other parts looking like an animals. I've never read a specifically yuri ABO story where "those parts" were animalistic in the way I'm assuming you mean. I've only read comic varieties though, maybe it's that way in a novel. But anytime it's been uncensored, it's been "normal."

Stumbled into success.

I missed this art style. Glad they participated.

Oh, Lily is not having a good time. Poor girl. Hoping for a happy ending for this manga, after the obvious emotional roller coaster that'll come in the next few chapters, maybe even volumes!

It ends at chapter 15, so the ride is reaching its climax, one way or another. Gotta buckle up.

Also I haven't seen any mixed reception tbh, it's not like I've gone trawling for responses or reviews but everything I've casually come across in English is positive.

That's good to hear. I'm mostly on places where the audience hasn't read the manga and are focused on Japanese and Korean GL/BL TV so their thoughts were entirely TV related. Existing fans of the manga largely liked it from what I saw. And a lot was positive from everyone, but there was some predictable things: 1) The typical age gap / dating your boss complaints ("She should quit her job to date Ayaka"), 2) the degree people were willing to accept Hiroko being a hot mess. Straight girl complex was the level many wanted it to go and once that was solved her other deeper mess acting as barriers didn't match her bar reputation ideal they seemed to have latched onto early on so that was a problem. 3) And then concerning all of her friends spilling her secrets in their efforts to help her via Ayaka. I did see some Japanese fans iffy on that but mainly because Risa wasn't always trustworthy with the info, not that asking Hiroko's bar senpai or work peers was a bad move on it's own. I am to the point I can't figure out what people want in their shows. This one did so much I want to see. Especially the generational issues and the dynamic reversal gags carried to the very end.

You can't please everyone. Some of the audience having issues isn't a problem. You just look at the overall response and that's seemed good based on what I've seen and how Sal Jiang has reacted.

Glad this did get uploaded. Man this chapter was great! Loved the flashback and of course love chaotic Ayaka towering over Hiroko yet again. Wish we could get more but Sal Jiang likes variety so I doubt it.

What is this talk of a show? Where can I see it?

The show is on this website, officially translated. The season is eight, 24-minute full episodes. Translated into about 6 different languages.

The state of Chinese comic translations is pretty terrible since Bilibili's English comics division suddenly shuttered at the beginning of the year. I'm glad we've got dedicated groups still bringing us some great scanlations like Golden Orchid because most of what's left besides them are either abandoned or MTL, including extremely good comics like Bailijin Among Mortals.

The pretty sure the person doing Baili Jin now isn't MTL. The one on Mangadex.

I do kind of want to push back against the idea that bringing up queer identity makes a work less fluffy or about the characters being in love. I don't think it's what you're intending to say, but I do feel like that edges toward the idea that queer love is somehow less "pure" or fluffy if you use the L-word to describe the characters, and that it's somehow cleaner to just leave things undefined.

I think they just assumed you were discussing series that make sexual identity part of the plot's central focus or part of some kind of drama.

My experience is similar to yours. Most Korean/Chinese series I've read (no matter how fluffy) acknowledge the characters' identity in common/natural and direct ways. I've rarely had these issues with non-manga series. Maybe it's just the ones I choose to read.

omg i recognized all of them except for 1.
Listen to the Stars
Qing Mei Liao
My Food Seems To Be Very Cute
Beware of the vicious dog inside!
Tamen De Gushi (the couple in the alley (?) its cuz of the artstyle )
Song Beyond the World
Baili Jin Among Mortals
I Was Beaten Down By The Younger Generation Again
Artificial Temperature 36.7
Straight Girl Trap

ive read all of them except artificial temperature 36.7 and theyre all great! i highly recommend u check those titles out

Especially Straight Girl Trap (author-artist team of the series we're on now), My Food Looks Very Cute Today and Baili Jin Among Mortals (ending now, last volume). Those 3 are really fun and Food Looks Cute is the longest running (likely has at least 2 more volumes left).

were do i find the full translation of Baili Jin Among Mortals ?

Billibilli got up to around chapter 155 or something like that. You can find those chapters out there. There's also someone on Mangadex currently TLing but from around the 50s or 60s. To be up to date though you need to read the original source. No TL is there. Current chapter is 205. This is the final volume, and each volume is about 15 chapters. So it'll most likely end around 215-220--to give you an idea of what's left.

Finale aired and according to the Japanese reports I saw, it was very well received. Happy for Sal Jiang and they seem happy all over twitter as well. Seems like people really liked the casting too. The whole thing is officially available in English (subs) as well.

It felt different from the manga to me, but Kanna as Hiroko made it work imo even when things weren't entirely on the rails towards the end. I also looked in on Japanese fandom and they all seemed universally thrilled which to me is important more so than the mixed reaction from western fans. The boxset is ranking very well on Amazon which they say could sway any s2 decision. It will have a bunch of extra and English and Chinese subs for the episodes, but it doesn't look easy to buy without a proxy.

The newly drawn chapter of Hiroko's school days came out and Sal was clearly in her own stash on that one. Hopefully someone picks it up.

Agreed. Everyone needs to see the last page of that chapter especially. Makes me once again want that continued just to see Hiroko "suffer" from pleasure, and the loss of her position as the womanizer in the relationship.

I'm a bit confused by the appearance of couples from Lilyclub and other Manhua series, but I assume the final couple will be the focus of the story since I didn't recognise them (or am I wrong?). Still it looks interesting.

This is just a special chapter. Main couple is the last one, yeah.

God, this series consistently has the worst comment sections.

Yeah I shouldn't be spamming the comment section with my bitching. It doesn't give me any satisfaction and nobody wants to read that crap. I'll try to stop.

I thought it was alright. Seemed tame. What else is discussion supposed to be? It's on topic, there's effort, it's fine. I would rather we avoided this angle with Miki but it's here to stay so I'm not planning on discussing it much.

For years I was all-in on the HajiMomo train, even after the Kyou death reveal, but just last week I read "The Summer You Were There" and I cried and cried and it's one of the greatest manga I've ever read and now I got traumatic PTSD and I'm not so sure if I want HajiMomo to just go out immediately. It doesn't feel so "right" anymore.

And when Miki was all like "I love Aya-senpai, but not romantically" I was like "I've heard this damn story before already with Himari -> Yori and Aki -> Shiho, they both fall in love for real, so just go out with Aya-senpai already, you'll get over your Nee-chan and fall in love with Aya-senpai for real before you know it"

No we need someone to play (whisper) a love song first. That's the name of the game and I'm wondering if we'll find some creative way of doing that here too. The first two were very different. I don't think Aya senpai plays music though so who knows, maybe Miki or Momo does something. Gotta keep music involved somehow.

As well as Young Ladies Don't Play Fighting Games

On a side note, i don't watch dramas so it's not surprising i don't know what's going on , but i had no idea so many of theses had been adapted. ^.

Same. I only know of a few because I follow the authors. That's also why a tag might be helpful. The finale for "Ayaka is in Love with Hiroko" is on the 23rd(?), if you want to catch it. All episodes are translated.

Since there's the Anime tag for series with anime adaptations, I think a Live-Action tag would be useful for series with live-action adaptations. The series I can think of so far are

Shinmai Shimai no Futari Gohan would also need that tag

And "Her Kiss - Infectious Lust"

I'm sad that the show only got 8 episodes, but at least they're half hour episodes compared to "She Loves to Cook"'s ten minute episodes. It's been really great so far, although I've missed some of the scenes they edited out, particularly Ayaka x Risa.

You wanted to see Risa miserable again huh? But seriously, that's something I'm not surprised they cut. The main themes of the series work without her involvement, so if they had to move something around I'm not surprised it was her. They chose to focus on the main issues. I'm even more interested in this extra chapter, now. I'm assuming it must be a future chapter.

Final Episode coming up! Also saw that it got 3rd on a most watched late night drama series ranking from a publication's viewers. I guess the extra chapter coincides with the finale.

How Do We Relationship is probably the single best ongoing manga about lesbians out there, imo. The main other manga I can think of in the "about lesbians" category and competes in quality is Ayaka is In Love With Hiroko, and that's completed.
Totally worth paying to access How Do We Relationship's official translation imo :)

Speaking of "Ayaka is in Love with Hiroko," the live action TV series is doing really well and about to air it's final episode. Not sure if you knew about the live action and it has subtitles out there.

Interesting overlap between the chapter and the most recent chapter of How Do We Relationship, particularly ending on the same kind of scene.

Can't wait for the next chapter of HDWR!

100%. The emotions of the current arc are incredible, it's like a "so good you fear how it will inevitably go bad" thing (which is also like the exact same kind of thinking that caused their original breakup lol)

What is “ How Do We Relationship” and where can I read it?

Was hosted on here under the name "So, Do You Want To Go Out, Or?" but was licensed by Viz here: https://www.viz.com/how-do-we-relationship

And if you have access to the Viz Manga app, new chapters are released there as well. Translated and simultaneous with the JP version (a day behind, if we even want to call that being behind). At chapter 122 now. Definitely an "all timer" series to me.

Yeah I noticed that too--the idea of setting expectations that won't be satisfied. It's mostly fine but if people go into the show believing there is actual romance, they'll be disappointed. Still Falin and Marcille are cute regardless, even though she portrayed them like a trio of siblings more than anything. None of it hurts anybody, as you said. Plus this animation is great!

Yeah she basically said she didn't intend for those things but people are free to interpret as they wish. Pretty much a polite way for an author not to reject people's fandoms and interpretations. I think it was pretty clear from the story that she never focused or intended romance much at all, even from Laios. The interview just reinforced that idea in a harmless way. Of course people are arguing about it regardless.
