This feels really hopeful to me, considering my experiences with Japanese culture. I'm not saying that Japanese people are uniformly bad at expressing their thoughts and emotions, but I think that the culture can really tend to discourage honesty, and I've experienced culture shock many times in my interactions with Japanese. Either I was "too honest" or I could hardly believe how reserved they were. So it's really cool to see a manga specifically about being honest and about communication. If anyone knows other manga that talk about these things frankly, I'd love to hear more, by the way.

I asked multiple people on the dynasty discord what they thought about this and several future chapters that, imo, go further than this.

For example (spoilers for 2 chapters but nothing too serious) In one chapter, Hinami reflects on this proposal saying "I tried to propose to Tsukino-chan but she ignored me. She must have thought it was just one of my usual jokes." with an image of Hinami heartbroken. In another chapter, Hinami purposefully loses her futon so she can sleep in the same bed as Tsukino. And there are more moments like this sprinkled throughout that suggest Hinami has feelings for Tsukino

But I was advised to go with the subtext tag for the time being because Pageratta has been iffy with releasing explicit yuri ever since his sole yuri series came out. I will leave it up to readers if they actually think it deserves to be tagged as yuri. Don't wanna create false expectations.

Just to clarify, I didn't mean to criticize your tagging decisions in any way, I just thought it was hilarious in light of this particular chapter.

It's just really nice to see this author thinking so seriously about homophobia and where it comes from and how it gets perpetuated. Homophobic people have backgrounds and motivations and their own troubles, which doesn't excuse their behavior, but it does give clues for prevention of homophobia, reconciliation, and how to build a better future. Luxi's mom really needs help healing.

Man this is making me want to watch the drama again. I miss Yuuka and Yurika's version of ItsuFuyu.

Highly recommend people to check out the drama! While not perfect, it's a lot of fun and it took over my life last year while it was airing.

Cool, a good excuse for me to practice Japanese listening skills while indulging in yuri!
