Huh. On Dynasty at least, Chapter 1 came out May 2015, and Japanese school year starts in April, plus translation time. Latest chapters hit in October 2021... which seems an odd time for graduation. 6-6.5 real years. High school is 3 years... college college would be 4 years, but wiki says professional school is 2-3 years, and I'm not sure what the girls were doing. So yeah, could be real-time-ish.

The volume 1 imprint says publication started in September 2014. In 2017 they graduated from high school after three years and in 2021 they graduated college after four years. Looks like it’s pretty much exactly real time, though maybe offset about half a year.

Legitimate question, what's the difference between yuri fanservice and queer baiting? Like, obviously I don't think a majority of people expected anything to actually come from TakaMori, or most HoloLive ships. But is it not the same thing of exploiting people who are expecting some form of queer representation into watching your content?

The difference is the target audience and how realistic it is presented, I guess? Yuri fanservice is basically Girl-on-Girl is Hot for heterosexual males because that’s where the big money is. If you have a good gaydar, it’s usually not hard to tell that most of it is just for show and I don’t consider that queer-baiting. I’d only agree on the queer-baiting if Crossick or NoeFlare would turn out to be fake.

^ Blame it on my lack of translation skills of Japanglish. I think it means something like “there’s something wrong/strange with their sense of distance”. A true “there’s nothing wrong with sitting on your homie’s lap every day” moment, I guess.
