What's the point of writing a sequel if the whole thing is gonna be flashbacks to the time before the previous series ended?

I'd bet a shiny new nickel that this chapter and the last chapter will show up in the next tank before the chapter where they have sex. The author's afterword in Vol 4 indicates that there will be another volume, but there are only two stories left in the original run: Yamada goes to take her exam, and Yamada and Kase do the big nasty for the first time. Which is (A) not a lot of material for a tank; and (B) something you'd want as the climax of a tank, rather than a story you run into 1/3rd of the way through.

So I'm guessing you'll see this flashback and the previous flashback used to pad out the next volume in such a way that Kase and Yamada finally doing the do will be the end of the volume. Especially since this most recent chapter isn't even framed in the narrative as a flashback, so it can very naturally slot right in as the first chapter of the next volume.

And that makes a lot of sense. I was really wondering why on earth a sequel would start with 3 flash-backs.
This makes me kinda sad, though: I was really looking forward to seeing how their lives and relationship would develop through college.

The webstore I buy my comics and manga has this listed as three volumes, Is that correct?

That was some big downgrade. Did previous series and 1 year of dating not happen? Why the first chapter is about "you will surely get a boyfriend" and "but we are both girls"? That was pretty disappointing for first chapter of sequel.

Yeah, that trope needs to die out as soon as possible, as far as I'm concerned. Same with Kase-san sequel. "But we're both girls" and "can we date?" You had sex, for crying out loud.

But:

I hope the teacher and the other girl make an appearance again.

These two are seriously the most adorkable adult couple I've ever seen in yuri. I wish there was more yuri with adults around.

When I saw the names, my first thought was Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter.

Man, how frustrating. This series has been pretty good at avoiding harmful yuri tropes so far and to see it fall into one of the absolute worst ones ("I think i'm a burden to you so i'm breaking up with you even though that hurts both of us and helps nothing instead of just actually communicating about our problems")

That Kiss scene is one of the more beautiful panels I've seen so far.

I'm pretty new to reading Yuri manga's, and I've read all the classics. Bloom Into You is an absolute master piece, as far as I'm concerned. Great story, and great art.
