You are absolutely right. I just wanna add that If the cause is external it's easier to deal with it than when it comes from inside.
In some cases it can take way more time (months or years) to get better. People often lack patience (we want to get cured in a day or two) so when after a certain time we see no improvements the depressive disorder can easily worsen

I guess it depends on what causes depression. It's not only about bad things happening in our lives, stress, grief that affect us. They say "changes in brain chemistry, genetics, changes in hormone levels, certain medical conditions" can cause depressive disorder.

I find it so weird that Sumin forgot about Seju's B-day. How long they have been knowing each other? For like 17 years. And after all these years she just simply forgot.
And her lame excuse: "it's just that it already passed by the time I realized it...you shouldn't celebrate birthday if it already has passed"
...birthday isn't about parties, cakes, blowing out candles etc. It's about attention and for Seju a simple happy B-day greeting from Sumin would have been more than enough.

As I don't think the person who did the unofficial translation could translate things into something totally different from the originals, I personally like the unofficial one more.

Maybe his/her translating skills are not that good . lot of the characterization and subtext can easily get lost in translation.
