Finished reading, liked the chapter (lots of Seol-a inner monologue yay! though still waiting for No-rae's). I don't think I'm gonna attempt a translation because I don't want to bork the monologue, but if you've got any questions let me know. Random bits for now:

• Minjung's worried because she's never seen Seol-a having trouble getting a guy before. And Seol-a started crying...
• Yup, the guy's part of her flashback, one of her exes (and shows their breakup fight)
• Seol-a's inner monologue goes on w/ something like how up till now, she kind of had a formula/modus operandi for relationships. "But you're (No-rae) different. I can't do that to you."
• The graduation is Hee-jin's.
• At the end, some dude announces a party in class, Seol-a, No-rae, and Hye-kyung look annoyed and are like "Let's just show our faces there real quick then leave." Cut to No-rae living it up haha

Just started reading the chapter. Seol-a's friend (can't remember her name... Minjung??) was ticked off at not being able to see her over break and said "you got a boyfriend, huh?" and Seol-a's just like "uhhhhhh not really" lol

There was a one-hour drama special called "Daughters of Club Bilitis" a few years back (Club Bilitis is the name of the lesbian bar in the drama). I haven't watched it myself but here's a synopsis:

The Daughters of Club Bilitis is a one episode drama special which premiered on KBS on August 8, 2011. Billed as Korea’s first lesbian-focused special, it explores the lives of three lesbian couples, from two schoolgirls trying to figure out who they are and what (and who) they want to two thirty-something women who’re concerned their respective needs don’t mesh to an older couple who’ve stability and happiness with each other but a somewhat contentious relationship with their relatives.

It was notable because this wasn't on some minor cable channel, KBS is one of the major national broadcast networks in Korea. Apparently there's zero kissing, despite the 19 rating, and some angst along the way, but the ending is happy-ish. At the very least no one dies (sorry @ the 100 fans, you have my sympathy)

I gotta say Seol-a and No-rae's characters are so well developed by Ssamba, and they're continuing to grow more. That just opens a lot of ways for us to write 'believable' fanfics.

Why is no one writing anything? lol. I'm so interested in reading FF fanfics (rather than my own lame writing)

I think it's a little similar to the situation with kdrama fandom where there's hardly any fic. Western TV is generally plot-driven and so a lot of fanfic comes out of the need to explore/fill in characters and relationships in more depth that what's given in canon. Meanwhile, for kdramas which are generally more relationship-driven, that characterization is already there in canon, so 1) there's less of a drive to write in the first place, and 2) fic writers end up having a lot less wiggle room before running into OOC territory so it's actually harder to write good fic.

Of course, I'm not really involved in kdrama fandom, and I'm not a fic writer (though I've made some embarrassing attempts in the past) so perhaps none of the above is actually true haha.

Count me in as another member of Team SlowBurn here (idk what to call the other side... Team GetOnWithIt? Team GetItOn? lol)

Some thoughts:

1. We the readers have the benefit of having an almost omniscient POV. But what seems sooo obvious to us may not actually be so from an individual character's POV.
2. On the flipside, ssamba does leave a lot ambiguous/open to interpretation. But just because something isn't explicitly shown, doesn't mean it's not happening.
3. Mutual attraction alone isn't a sufficient basis for a relationship. Both No-rae and Seol-a are developing some much-needed maturity which I think will make things a lot more happy and rewarding for them down the road.
4. In line with #3, the characters have lives and personalities outside of the romantic storyline, and that's a good thing.
5. The series is called fluttering feelings, not constantly escalating feelings. There will be highs like the almost-kiss followed by more relaxed chapters like this one. It's a risk of following something that's in a serialized format (and what makes it fun imo). If it's too much, put FF on a to-read list and come back when it's completed, you will honestly be a lot happier that way.

I wish I could just do what halmoni does and just be like "lol @ all the salt" but it feels like there's a higher than usual amount of complaining about the pace this week (I guess people got their hopes up due to the hiatus) which is a little disheartening to someone like me who comes here to read discussion/meta and be excited about the series. I don't want to be all "no negative opinions allowed" but at the same time the pacing argument has been rehashed so many times it's tiring... for those who are dissatisfied with the pace, do what NicLarkin suggested (but I'm saying this with complete sincerity not sarcasm), lower your expectations. Or channel your frustrated energy into drawing/writing the *ahem* action you want to see ;) This fandom could always use more fanworks.

Also wanted to say thanks @ffins07, I really look forward to/appreciate your analysis after every chapter.

@quelana personally I'm leaning towards not (having realized it's mutual). But like you said it's really ambiguous haha. I feel like Seol-a won't push any further for the time being though, I agree with halmoni that there probably won't be a confession (at least not from her end, and not anytime soon).

Like ffins07 wrote earlier, Seol-a's showing No-rae that she's there for her (and will continue to be there for her in the future, which I felt was the purpose of the line about coming back together to the beach next time). Hopefully this will help No-rae work towards overcoming whatever doubts she has left.

I wonder what ssamba's purpose (from a storytelling POV) for delaying No-rae's graduation is though... I think someone else mentioned the possibility of creating another dramatic situation around Seol-a's graduation time?

There were a lot of words I didn't know this time especially when Hee-jin talks, which is why this took a while and there's so many untranslated ???? parts. But here's a not-translation (REALLY rough, take everything with a heap of salt) until halmoni posts a proper one (which will probably be really soon lol). At least I'm kind of learning new vocab...

Haha sorry for being a lazybones. Honestly I don't like the way Tumblr handles big images (even if I cut up the comic it would still shrink down the width to 500px) and postimage seems to do a much better job.

But does it bother people that the whole thing is not in a single Tumblr post? If that's the case then sorry, I didn't realize... I can edit my original post (though maybe I'll still use a read more cut to spare people's dashboards from this long-ass comic)

Well, it's really not that important for me. The only time I'd likely want to use it would be if I'm trying to read something in FF before halmoni posts her translation.

Install an Android emulator... then you can run smartphone apps on your laptop! :D Just kidding, I don't know if that would actually work. Like you said, probably not worth the effort. It is pretty silly that the functionality of Google Translate is more limited on a computer than a mobile device, though I guess it makes sense from an expected usage POV.

Actually, I can't read even a single Korean character, so I used an online Korean OCR (Optical Character Recognition), and fed the output directly into Google translate without even looking at it. I was fully at the (apparently nonexistent) mercy of that OCR program. Thanks for pointing that out.

Ohhhh that would explain it. I did get a good laugh out of "Moody's Boutique" because where the heck did that come from?

I just tried the Google Translate app on my phone just now to take a photo of the comico page, it got the characters perfectly but didn't pick up spaces between words. Once I manually put in spaces though it was able to translate. Might be worth looking into if that's an option for you!

So still bad, but not total gibberish. One tip is that if you see a bunch of stuff which looks like just romanized Korean syllables (like "meun hongjae dungjjae"), it's good to double check for typos on your end!

Since coming back from the hiatus mid-August, this is only the second time ssamba's taken a break (and honestly it's not even a break, fighting a cold reeeeeally sucks). Don't forget they still released a chapter around the Christmas and New Year's holidays. And unlike big-name comic artists, they probably don't have assistants helping them out either.

Point being, let's appreciate the heck out of ssamba's hard work instead of complaining that there's no chapter this week!

Also, I missed them at first because of how fast this thread moves, but thanks ffins07 and ieeheh for the kudos/comments :) I really appreciate it!

Some people need to chill, it's not like ssamba got sick on purpose. (There's better ways to tease the readers lol). Hope she gets better soon!
