Think this might be incorrectly classified as a work by a new author. There is already an existing entry under: https://dynasty-scans.com/authors/shinoba

Okay, it looks like my first attempt at a comment got eaten or transposed mistakenly to some other thread that I can't find...

Suicide and repressed memories?

Seems like it.

Basically being forced into an arranged marriage, but not willing to betray her love, she commits suicide instead

__futaba_aoi_isshiki_akane_kuroki_rei_saegusa_wakaba_and_shinomiya_himawari_vividred_operation_drawn_by_mytyl__904a353548acd3afeb5f6e71177fb99c

Not really knowing Vividred, my first thought upon seeing this was Kyouko on the floor, Homura being ... serviced ..., Madoka to the left kissing her on the mouth, and Mami filming in the background. It was only after being unable to figure out who the person on the right hand side is that I looked at the tags.

Thanks for the answer. To me it seems as if all the scenes were from just one movie, because it is always the same characters. They have motorbikes, so it is probably not a classic movie (?). Horror yes, probably, thanks for the name! the repeating scenes imply that it is a fanmade video, I guess. Or it is use as an art choice.

The relationship between the two girls is pretty explicit, so it should be mentioned somewhere, is what I though. Because actually I can look into a list of 500 lebian movies and I didn't find anything usefull till now. But they kissed and had sex, so it is not just a minor subtext thing.

Thanks for the other Youtube stuff, too. I'm not really looking for edgy stuff :D I'm more of the fluffy type (well, dark, but fluffy). I just liked the chemistry between the girls, so I'm going to keep on searching.^^

Think there might be a misunderstanding here: I am more than 99.99% certain that the scenes are made with actresses specifically for the music video. While the scenes may be referencing old movies, they did not use material from existing movies, merely taking inspiration in terms of setting and framing.

(And in terms of explicitness, there are other music videos that go way further -- not everything is made in the USA with the corresponding "do not make it too sexy" limitations. While not necessarily on the yuri side, for example some of Mylène Farmer's videos would make many an American censorship authority lose their cool. Advantages of a career in France.)

Hi,

I stumbled upon this music video and was wondering if this is a movie. Oooh, I really hope so, because, it looks amazing!

Link to Youtube

Does anybody have an idea what movie (short film, I take whatever xD) this might be? I really hope this is a thing :D
(I could have asked the uploader of the vid, but he didn't answer to a similar question from six months ago, so..... T-T)

Ehm. The music video seems to have merely grabbed inspiration from various older horror movies (mainly Roger Coreman I'd say). Given the number of repeated scenes, I'd say they were on a bit of a budget too. I'd be rather surprised if there is a short film of any kind behind that.

If you are looking for music videos that follow the nature of this site to some extent, I would suggest Hayley Kiyoko's stuff on YouTube. The music style is less 80s emo electronica than the other band, but in terms of the "is it warm in here or is that just me"-factor, I'd say the videos surpass it in many ways. "Girls like Girls" is pretty famous anyway, and one of the few videos that does not feature Hayley herself (another is "One Bad Night", which is very sweet, but addresses a different kind of LGBT topic); "Cliffs Edge" and "Sleepover" are interesting, with the former having a bit of a dark edge as well; "Feelings" is technically one of the most harmless ones, but in terms of chemistry... The newest one "Curious" is nice too, even if the topic is a bit painful.

If you want something a bit more edgy, there are always The Veronicas, with the Ruby Rose directed video being quite the standout (the singer and Ruby were a couple at the time...).

Now for the dubious analogy : Everybody knows murder is a bad thing, in most cases, you shouldn't kill anybody because taking a life is not a trivial thing and can hurt a lot of people, even the one who accomplishes the act. However, there are numerous stories/medium glorifying the act depending on the context, painting it as something justified or even positive, and are critically acclaimed and accepted by many - mostly to cater to (for some of us) our inner anger, some kind of cathartic stuff to expel any violent urges, or just to let off steam after a stressful day. Those films didn't make murder or murderers more accepted in society, I assume it's the same for lolicon stories; so why censor them?

I guess it's an unpopular opinion and most people will keep seeing those stories as a way to make paedophilia acceptable (since there are still people believing videogames makes you into a mass murdering psychopath) so, in the end, it will probably be censored.

Hm. I don't really disagree, but think that’s a somewhat grey area, as there are some very different stories out there in this “genre”.

This one is pretty harmless in my opinion. Mimika is very much conscious of the boundaries, which after all still apply to herself as well, seeing as she is also rather young. Many young couples do not jump over the line that requires Romeo and Juliet laws for a long time, with relationships lasting years before they become consummated in any form (if ever, although media can play a role here). Her level of infatuation is, of course, displayed as somewhat over the top, but it always feels as if she is essentially at risk of dying from cuteness overload, rather than going down a much more questionable route.

The grey area is one that may be argued to function as a catharsis, with characters so over the top or caricatured that it cannot be taken entirely seriously (e.g. most NSFW Lucky Star doujins on this site). It is a “safe” projection of fantasies, as it does not link back to real life. Think Lester Burnham’s reaction in “American Beauty” (1) when he and Angela, the cheerleader from his daughter’s class onto which he had projected his fantasies, are suddenly in a corresponding real-world scenario: a few simple words from her shatter his fantasy, making him realise that she is still only as mature as his 16yo daughter (if that), and he stops his advances. It is that sudden gulf between fantasy and reality that acts as a real-life safety system.

Other stories… Well. While I can follow the cathartic argument in the case of the grey area, there are some manga out there that cross a line. For example, there is not enough brain bleach to ever let me read Prism innocently again after making the grievous error of looking up some of Shou’s other works; some of which contain parts that are almost instructions of how to groom and “train” kids (the excellent drawing style does not help - and no, do not make the same mistake I did). Those types of things are beyond something that can be excused as cathartic for readers, going into the territory of inspiration and a how-to-guide, and some of the stuff out there makes Shou's worst seem harmless and reasonable. That stuff can indeed be dangerous, in particular for those who are already prone to being susceptible (2). It is also illegal in most countries.

As said at the beginning, in my mind Yuzumori-san is in the "mostly harmless" category; and so far, Ejima Eri has managed to skirt that edge rather well. Hopefully that continues.

(1) and yes, from today’s perspective, and in particular in this context, it is rather unfortunate that Kevin Spacey played that role, but it is the most prominent example I could think of

(2) herein lies the risk with the whole “video games create psychopaths” argument. They can indeed be harmful to those who are already walking that path, with some very few exceptions cynically catering to that part of the market. The bulk of games fall squarely into the other two categories, rendering them a form of entertainment that allows you to get rid of aggression, rather than plan some murder spree. Movies are very similar in that regard.

Like a fluffy blanket full of nostalgia. Glad to see this here. I've been reading it on AnaKris' DeviantArt page, but reading it here is a lot easier. Also rather happy to see the credit page with a link to her store, even if my credit card is giving me an anthropomorphised glare after the visit...

This is hilarious and adorable and cute and everyone should read it if they haven't already! Much thanks to Helvetica!

Agree. Would love to see a sequel playing some 6 years later when Kubota-san graduates from highschool and reiterates her confession.

I was thinking it'd be nice to tag the het rape backstory in chapter 5, where the rapist spends an entire chapter in a position of power towards the main characters so that people picking it up can be warned that it has somewhat heavy themes sometimes, but I can't find the right tag for it

Its possible to tag individual chapters.

But we never see it explicitly, it's just told as a backstory, so the rape tag probably doesn't fit

You could always try abuse instead. Certainly fits the theme...

Well that was super mired in heteronormativity.

I mean, it definitely was, but that was also the entire reason their relationship fell apart, and overcoming those assumptions and dropping their self-enforced masculine/feminine roles is what allowed them to actually see and love each other properly, so... Good?

Good.

Quoting for truth. Good.

Well that was ... odd. Minako really reminds me of Kuroko from Murcielago though, in particular in the "save the cat from the orange peel" scene.

oh, if not for the tags i was thinking she was a girl who dressed like a boy when she was a kid, like in prism

It is pretty easy to read it that way. The "cut off" line could be taken as "I never had one to start with" and the end could be read as "Wouldn't you rather have a guy?" with "A woman is what I want" in reply. With the exception of the milk line and the kind of insulting "(?)" in the title, I can see how you'd get that impression.

But I think I like it better this way.

There's more, and this one is pretty obvious.
The artist isn't japanese, though.

While that one is cute too, I just saw one of the earlier ones for this series, and now need to try to get rid of the massive grin on my face: https://twitter.com/garunstudio/status/885459770294939648

This person has a nice artstyle. It kinda reminds me of Homura Subaru.

Thought it was BruelDatria at first.

Me too actually. At least somewhere in the middle of melting from the cuteness.

I can't help but think that Miso-ha may have read Inuzuka Bouru's "The Dog's Desire and the Reality of Discipline"... The cat and dog outfits for Maki and Honoka respectively are pretty much the last five pages of that doujin. :p
(caution - that one is a lot less ... innocent ... than this image)

Spare us your poorly worded and uneducated opinion, please. I've seen really great and bright kids do the worst things to themselves because of bullying.

This.

It requires quite the level of ignorance to seriously think that the reactions of your peer group do not have a massive influence on your behaviour and mental well-being, in particular during your formative years.

As far as the Pixiv post is concerned, it's only tagged as Yuri, with no mention of futa or trans. KanaMari's sex position and Yoshiko's condom joke can easily be attributed respectively to missionary grinding and Yoshiko being a huge dork. There's nothing in the dialogue that directly hints at there being dicks as far as I can tell.

Agree, I was puzzled what exactly caused the tag after reading it. Just to add that condoms are usually a lot easier to get than dental dams, so if you're going down the safe-sex route (concerns about which are explicitly mentioned in the dialogue), condoms are a seriously useful tool for two women as well*. Hence the presence of a condom does not really point to anything specific.

Seeing as Pito has no problems tagging stuff as futa if it should be considered as such, it does sort of stand to reason that this one is therefore not in that category.

*cut the tip off, cut along one side, unroll -> pre-lubricated dental dam

Yonurime strikes again. The soft courtship, them coming to grips with the depth of their mutual feelings, the comfort that goes beyond mere companionship. It all comes together in a quiet and warm blend of fuzzy feelings and fleeting moments of recognition. I really like this one. To me, it conveys a bit of the same feeling as a cup of hot tea while curled up on the sofa with a blanket and a good book.

This is really cute, I like it. Bottled tea, though... why, author-san, why...

The choice strikes me as very realistic for Japan actually. Not just that, but the stuff is also surprisingly good, contrary to the versions you get in the West.

While the proportions and limb positions are, at times, somewhat off, the overall story feels very much realistic. No magic scissoring that's "oh so amazing", no odd fetishes, no use of excessive tools; just two young women who are very much into each other and like both giving and receiving.

Oh god Sun Jing's hapiness is contagious. Im giggling like a madwoman just because of her joy.

Signing that in a heartbeat. Methinks my neighbours are wondering what the heck I'm alternately giggling and cheering about...

While I have heard of Guilty Crown, I had to look it up to see why this has anything to do with it... My immediate thought was Utena. I'm old. :p

I will take a different route. The ending you know?... bubble gives off a lot of possibilities.

  1. the husband may not be clueless. He knows what is Seri-chan to Ryouko. Thus, he was intrigued and very curious. His business trips may also entail that he is meeting a same-sex lover as well.
  2. Ryouko plan to move back and bought a house hoping to be with Seri-chan. So, the park meeting was intentional not coincidental. Confirming that Seri-chan felt the same, she resolved to transfer.
  3. It could be that Ryouko entered to an agreement with her husband(already in a same-sex relationship) to lift the stress and interrogation of parents(esp. mother) about settling down and having children with this kind of arrangement and told about Seri-chan.
  4. Part of the agreement is to live away from parents to avoid interrogation from both families. Remember Ryouko's family moved out also because of the father's job. It could be that Ryouko live in the same neighborhood as husband's.

These are all possibilities inspired by real life journey of a Chinese woman who is in a same-sex relationship. She helped young Chinese generations because of non-acceptance of same-sex relationships. The article was part of a documentation on LGBTQ.

I like this take on it. While the younger generation is slowly changing things, I've met quite a few women (and men) who are in this sort of situation / relationship. One should also not forget that some women marry to be able to have children, even if they are not really interested in men. Even in more tolerant societies, it can be very difficult indeed for women to find donors if they are not married (+ doctors who will help in these cases -- not everyone is a big fan of turkey basters).

That being said, I have also met young women who were in relationships with older married women with children. This included one case in Japan that was pretty darn dark, with the older woman basically outright abusing the younger one, both physically as well as mentally (wealthy married woman meets rather young adult who ran away from home...).

I screamed 'Yes, finally' when I saw the tumblr post. And just knew, despite only 3 strips since the last update, Dynasty was going to post this.

P.S.
143 is somewhat out of order.
Correct order is, I believe:
- Sun Jing grabes the chair
- Pulles it away from Qui Tong
- Puts her foot on the chair
- Wideshot of her sitting next to Qui Tong

Seconding the issue with the order. Was getting confused until I looked it up on tumblr again.

But goodness do I love those two...

42 kilogrammes? Is this girl even alive?

Well... Let us assume that she is rocking a BMI of 18.5 or so at her age*. In that case she would be 1.51 metres tall (just shy of 5 feet). While that's not very tall by western standards, it's nothing too rare for Japan.

The 44.2 kg at the beginning would have pushed her BMI to 19.5.

* talking from personal experience, I was running at 18.2 from late puberty until around 24/25, and I was nothing exceptional

So, they only legalized gay marriage for women? That's some massive bias right there.

Didn't think about that, but it'd actually be weirdly plausible. In Germany, for example, homosexuality between men was illegal for quite long, but homosexuality between women somehow wasn't. Even the Nazis didn't specifically persecute lesbians. How weird is that?

No need to go back in history actually... Welcome to current day Singapore:

Same-sex sexual activity legal:

  • No: For male (Penalty: Up to 2 years imprisonment; not enforced)
  • Yes: For female
