I'm reminded of when Murphy and Sapir were writing the Destroyer series of novels, they included a firearm in one book and people called them on the mistakes they made about it. They agonized over it for a while, having made such obvious errors, until they had (more or less) this exchange.

"Do you care about guns?"

"Well, no."

"Do you care about people who are that fussy about guns?"

"No."

So from then on, whenever they included any sort of firearm in their books, they deliberately got all the details wrong, and came up with ridiculous weapons that nobody would really want to be real.

Between this and Chatting in the Amber Teshouse there really needs to be a boss employee category like there's a student teacher category.

I'm hesitant to recommend Wapsi Square since up to a point it's amazing but during the last little while it's gotten really off kilter in terms of pacing. The lead character, who up until that point had been perfectly happy in a long term relationship with a great guy, suddenly decided she'd been fooling herself all along and immediately dumped him without further discussion and started a relationship with (at that point) the only canon lesbian in the series. Since then another lesbian character was introduced, and one who appeared to be straight, and who thematically would have been great as a more down-to-earth lesbian, is now possibly bi although that thread's been left dangling for the moment.

There are a lot of good moments, and I definitely recommend the archives, but when it comes to the recent stuff I'm a bit less impressed than I had been. Which is a shame since the subject matter is right up my alley.

I used to read wapsisquare, but I lost track some years ago because the story wasn't making any sense, with magic and "poits" teleportation and such. It was interesting but badly told.

Really, the lead character with huge boobs (Monica?) dumped the guy with the stuble? Who for? The butch mechanic?

The skinny model. Pretty sure there was a bit about her relatively early on, she ended up starting a restaurant I think. There's some supernatural stuff with her later which reveals she's a lesbian, and then she reappears and over the course of something like two or three strips ends up as Monica's lover. I'm not certain, but I think Kevin, the guy with the stubble, ends up with Bud, the goat-themed golem/chimera element.

I really do recommend reading the series for most of the way, there's some really good stuff. It gets a lot darker, but the storyline does end up pretty coherent for a long time. It's just the past six months or so that the narrative has kinda fallen apart. Not to mention, you get a lot of the introvert who talks to her fish actually being cool.

My "kills self" instinct turned out to be the correct one, it seems.

Oh yeah, it's not about the other girl but about Mika. So we don't need to know about her, just Mika's reaction to her. But it's hard not to be curious.

They are not, nor are lesbians given access to in vitro fertilization. So even if iPS cells became a viable option, we're still quite a long way from that being a possibility for homosexual folks in Japan.

FWIW, while it's a bit disappointing that Jin brought a new character in at the end who we don't even get to know anything about, at least it takes care of my main criticism that the main line seemed to wrap up without resolving Mika's character arc which was all about not sabotaging potential relationships any more, and actually taking a few risks romantically to find happiness.

So is this everything, or is there still more Love & Piece and/or extras still to come? I want to read it all at once, so as to get the full effect of the series, but I don't want to if there's still bits missing.

Did you see the Yatterman live-action movie? It was a lot of fun, but holy hell there was some weird shit towards the end.

Pretty much this. Mouko's world is basically filled with Keine. That's who she thinks of all the time, it's who she spends her time with, her happiness derives from her. So the way that Keine is made up physically of all the things she's eaten, including history, Mouko's heart is made up of the experiences Keine has given her.
