OMG this was the most no cliche manga that I saw in a year xD

This went through the usual cliches and motions of any Groundhog Day type of story. Someone (typically the main character) has to learn a lesson in order to progress time. Nothing necessarily wrong with that, but every story has cliches and this one is no exception. I think people often worry too much if something has cliches or doesn't, each author gets inspired by something and some previous work. There's a great part in the movie "The Night is Short, Walk on Girl" about how every book is connected in some way.

Overall I think it was cute and an enjoyable read.

I'm loving that we're getting at least a few more Fate works involving yuri, but we still need a lot more. This is adorable and I'm hoping for Fate content on here soon.

I see a couple of people mentioning that it's cliche. A lot of romance (if not all) is cliche to some extent, in general stories and even IRL situations involving romance have cliches just by the nature of romance alone, honestly any story of any genre even dating back hundreds...even thousands of years has cliches. Lots of stories have been inspired by the likes of Shakespeare and he was inspired by things before him. Personally I don't think being cliche is necessarily a bad thing, as long as it's well done or at least enjoyable. Which I for one enjoyed this greatly, it's straight forward and to the point, the art is nicely done and it's cute. Definitely something pleasant and easy going to take my mind off of a long day, so I'm looking forward to the future chapters for certain.

Also what's up with the alarming amount of comments talking about masturbating? Are the mods/admins asleep or is that behavior okay for some reason? It seems like it would/should be an inappropriate place for comments like those.

One thing I really hate about Japan, is in their anime and manga about gay couples. Whether it be Yaoi or Yuri. There's always one who is submissive and a bottom and one who is a top and a Dom. Always. Not every gay couple is like that. It's a real stupid stereotype.

Not every LGBT+ manga is like that.

Are you going to tell me that in Bloom Into You has a top and bottom couple or dom/sub couple? Because if so I couldn't disagree with you more. TANKOBU is a short story with two equally aggressive girls. Cotton Candy is a short story about two girls figuring out their sexuality, and realizing the opinions of the public shouldn't impact their relationship. Most of Milk Morinaga's works don't have a top or a bottom. There's a boat load of yuri out there that doesn't do that, I could spend a long time finding many yuri manga that proves your there's "always" a top and a bottom or dom/sub comment isn't true.

Also why do people so often single out "hating" Japan? In every country and culture there's people that enjoy power play, both LGBT+ and Hetero. Lots of authors and readers like someone that takes control of things and knows how to be in charge, while also making their partner feel safe. It's one of the most popular dynamics in romance stories I'd agree at least with that, I'd say it's not a bad dynamic however and it can add some really fun spice to the story. One of the best (in my opinion) comics focusing on a lesbian couple "Sunstone" is about a dom/sub couple. Are you going to start hating Croatia? Because that's where that author is from.

It's fine if you hate this manga, I hope you find something you enjoy more. Those of us that do enjoy it are going to keep doing so however.

Edit: Also there's a lot of relationships in stories and IRL where someone has more sexual knowledge than their partner, they can in general lead the sexual encounter. I think that's completely normal and natural. I know there's manga where a woman discovers and comes into her sexuality while falling in love with a woman who has more experience with dating women, so there can be that dynamic. I wouldn't necessarily call any of these a "top/bottom - dom/sub" relationship.

Not sure if we can post pictures/links on this site, it's been a bit since I've looked at the rules so I apologize if I'm breaking any, but I'm often reminded in these situations of the official relationship of Domino and Wolverine in a Uncanny X-men comic that came out ages ago. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/b4/32/01/b432010f87d846bda9624f7743b1b447.jpg that specific page. Very rough love making, both of them enjoy it, no harm, no foul.

Hell yes, give me more Fate yuri doujins please. There's probably less than 10? Regardless there's far fewer than there should be. I've noticed in general with explicit doujin works (especially lately) that if there's a work involving two girls having sex the author will often make one or both into futa, which fine and all but I'd appreciate some more works that are simply yuri and don't have dicks.

Anyhow, this is super cute, I love Gudako/Shuten/Ibaraki.

Hello, I was attempting to link a friend to English volumes of Milk Morinaga's works that Seven Seas has published and I discovered that Rightstuf and Amazon are both selling volume 1 and 2 of "Hana & Hina After School" normally, however volume 3 isn't available for regular retail at this time? It's not on Rightstuf's website and it's only being sold at a high price via 3rd party sellers on Amazon. I'm pretty certain I bought the volume when it came out, so I'm curious what happened, were there printing or translation errors? Any information people might have would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

Gotta be real, the art is not my cup of tea

Same. It's because the anatomy is all over the place.
And also I don't like it when a girl is basically drawn like a guy with boobs.

It all looked fine at the start. The artist can draw a good face.

I don’t like the term “Tomboy” because it implies that a girl must be like a boy to do certain things. Kase-san is tagged Tomboy and I don’t see that at all.

That said, there are women that have very male like appearances. That’s not my interest, but I’m certain that it is someone’s.

What exactly counts as a "drawn like a guy with boobs"? I don't think characters like Kase-San count as they're maybe a little boyish in appearance but she's still feminine. People have different perspectives however, because there can be muscular women that might be somewhat masculine both in entertainment like manga and in real life. Wouldn't it be insulting to say she looks like a man with boobs?

There's also some women that just look naturally boyish in real life and manga, I'm pretty certain you'd get slapped or told off if you walked up to a woman and said she looks like a guy with boobs. I honestly think you'd completely deserve to be slapped for that.

Also I don't really see how "Tomboy" is necessarily a negative term. I see what you're saying on one hand, I often see it as a visual description, but I suppose it depends on how you use the word and who is using it. I think it makes sites when websites use Tomboy to tag art and so fourth where a girl intentionally is dressing like a guy. Like Naoto from Persona or Kino from Kino's Journey.

But yeah, ultimately I think women don't have to be feminine and guys don't have to be masculine. Let people IRL do their thing and let authors create the characters they want. Edit: I hope it would be obvious but this is includes, clothing choices, hair style and length, muscle tone, makeup, and so fourth for everyone.

I enjoyed the episode of Love Live that focused on Rin Hoshizora. A big part of her character is her fear of wearing dresses and skirts, because she was teased/bullied for wearing a skirt when she was younger due to her boyish looks. In the episode some of the girls aren't able to make it to the concert in time which puts her in a position of facing those fears. She takes center stage and wears the dress that's required for her fill in position of group lead. In the end she knocks it out of the park and everyone loves her.

eats popcorn

This. People get so worked up over something that's pretty tame all things considered. She teased the other girl and the other girl seemed perfectly capable of telling her off if she didn't like it. Just seemed like some odd bit of humor.

Not really my cup of tea per sea, but people get really worked up over almost nothing. The bitter comments saying "oh how I'm glad it's dropped!". You could just you know, not read it? Let other people enjoy it or something. Heaven forbid other people like the things you dislike.

This crummy minimalist art and that short hair remind me of manga-Phos.

I wouldn't call the manga art of Houseki No Kuni crummy personally, it's not ultra detailed sure but I like the style plus the visuals in general look pretty nice in my opinion. It has far better art than this one-shot, at the very least in terms of execution, but I can see how the tomboy in this had some resemblance to Phos.

Edit: Also as other people here have have said I'm mostly reminded of Levi from Attack On Titan.

@Hylarn: From my understanding Mordred was created likely because of Merlin using some kind of "futa magic" on Arthur, so Arthur could produce an heir with the Queen. However Morgan (Arthur's sister) took advantage of this and "some how" ended up with Arthur's semen in her womb. Morgan then used magic on her womb to create a homunculus, that being Mordred. That's the main fan theory based off the vague bit of Fate lore we've gotten on the subject, to my knowledge at least.

I might be completely wrong but if I'm at all correct within that context it would make Arthur the father of Mordred and Morgan her mother. That's also how websites generally tag art involving any combination of Mordred with Arthur and/or Morgan.

Lore discussion aside, I adore this art and the general style + coloring is lovely.

@Vankomycin: I don't think anything is "up". Maybe she's lost in thought but she looks content. Also it's probably because of Tsukumizu's art style, his/her art is often melancholy. Their Touhou one-shot "Flan wants to die" is a good example of this. I also love their series 'Girls Last Tour', I've only read the manga up to where the anime finished so far, but it's a bit melancholic while also being about very adorable friendship in a strange post-apocalyptic world. They're on a journey in this lonely bizarre world where they barely encounter anyone else, but they have each other and get to experience a bunch of new things together.

Also I should note, there's two main characters in Girl's Last Tour, one is a often bit gloomy looking while the other is usually cheery and energetic. So I think Tsukumizu might be reflecting some of that dynamic in this art.

@BugDevil: That's fair, apologies if I came off as rude at all. I can more or less agree with you that both scenarios are potentially viable, but I'm also saying in Benja's defense here I think some level of frustration is acceptable when you're really in love with a series, and then someone comes along that seemingly doesn't appreciate a lot of the writing and build up. I think Benja wasn't rude, just very passionate.

I think you, Benja, and myself are all looking forward to seeing how the manga continues from it's current point and we're all curious to see how it will conclude. Hopeful and excited is how I would describe my current feelings toward the manga.

@BugDevil: Well I think 'Benja' being frustrated is understandable. Sure this route isn't impossible, but for someone to simply dismiss the progress of the manga and character growth as "mere drama that the author is dragging out" is rather insulting to the series and the author in my opinion. It's very assumptive and ignores so much of the fantastic build up we've gotten, so I understand why Benja and anyone deeply invested in the story and characters would be frustrated with someone writing off so much of the story in such a blase way. The way the manga is building up character personalities and the entire relationship is so far excellent, again my opinion.

We're getting a build up that feels like it'll have genuine pay off and when they finally get together in the manga it will hopefully be a highly satisfying peak of development, which will finish the series off on a very high note that should have a lasting and memorable impact on many of the readers.

For the people complaining about family abuse being far too common in romance manga, well it's even more common IRL. Part of why people write about it is because it's a very common and shitty experience, maybe the author was abused or they know someone that was. I have gay family members and some other family members that unfortunately have less than favorable opinions of them, or if it's not about being gay it's about something else. Ultimately at the end of the day some family members are just mean people, sometimes they're older and have dated thinking that they were raised on in a different time period, I think this applies to a lot of people's families.

@Random Wanderer: I'm personally not spoiling anything. All I can say is the story has been great from the start and is still in my opinion fantastic. You should continue reading so you can see where it goes for your self. The art and writing are some of my favorites right now and I think ruining the gradual build up of characters and story progression by having people spoil the series for you is doing your self and the series a disservice.

What Rye said. The intent of the art is that their dynamic and body language when kissing changes over 3 months, likely the first 3 months of dating. In the first month they're probably going to kiss in a moment, it's still a bit awkward for them so there's a moment of hesitation before the kiss. Second month they're more relaxed and kissing while still being a bit reserved. The third month they're really into and are now passionately kissing with fiery intensity.

@LilyBlack: I don't know what you mean by "Purposely Kept Androgynous". I haven't read a lot of the manga (yet) but I have watched the anime and from I've gathered they don't have any need for genitals, since they don't do things like using the bathroom, but most importantly they don't reproduce. They're formed over time on that giant rock on the beach from what I recall. So the gems being androgynous makes complete sense in my opinion. What people are supposed to see are these sleek dazzling beautiful figures and I think the series does that very well. Anyhow that aside the art here is cute and it's fun to see the various ships people make with fan-art.
