At least the omake gives it a much happier note to end on. they're still struggling and their dream escape didn't work out but things are still different for them. their trip helped them reaffirm what's important to them and they're able to keep going now, less on the brink than they were before.

That's not necessarily how it works. You can find out more by researching "compulsive heterosexuality" but the tldr is that most of us start out thinking we're straight because that's the norm society dictates, try it out and find it unsatisfying without quite being able to figure out why, and then one day have a gay revelation and never go back. Girls and women who "date" boys, have one gay encounter, and act like they just saw the rapture is all over yuri manga, and that story structure is not supposed to communicate "bisexual" lol. They're like the black and white clips from infomercials of people trying to do household chores, fucking it up in silly ways, and going "there just has to be a better way!" while looking into the camera.

There's that but it's not like we have any indication that she disliked said dating with boys, so there's nothing wrong with assuming she's bi, doesn't change anything about what's happening in this series.

I'm in Love with the Villainess: Good. Straightforward pace through the first setup chapters, if they keep this volume up we might actually reach beyond what's currently translated (unlikely but one can dream~) SO looking forward to see all the shenanigans in action

SHY: Really strong first episode. I haven't read any of the manga yet but this is real good, I'm intrigued. And also it already has bigger "oh she hecking gay" vibes than 99% of all other shonen series, I can so work with this :D

Frieren: Another i haven't read yet and am instantly intrigued by. The OP is a banger, as always with Yoasobi, and premise instantly drew me in. The artstyle gives me giant "retro" vibes, like, it feels exactly like Monster from the same studio from 2008. But in HD. Real neat~

Witch Family: About what i expected. Exact amount of over the top slapstick comedy as the manga, simple. Not gonna blow anyone away but will be fine entertainment to turn off the brain to xD

And while she may be easily flustered by a pretty face and easily swept along by external pressure, i'm pretty convinced that the thing blooming between her and Hinata is the only actually romantic tension there is so far.

Yeah, I'm not getting why people are upset. Neither Natori nor Hinata are treating the serving of drinks as sexual in any way. Maybe at a stretch a kind of married couple thing because Natori makes her a drink before she leaves in the morning, but they definitely aren't seeing it as romantic (yet).

Yeah, at most it maybe has smth domestic to it, as in Natori providing for Hinata, but that's it and only between those two.

I don't think we skipped anything, the chapter transition from Satou seeing Makino in the jewelry store, thinking "ah so she's getting married after all, liar.", to Makino's mother announcing it, with Satou thinking "yep, here we go." feels consistent.

I suspect we'll get a brief flashback to how it came to this next chapter maybe, when Makino is settling in at Satou's place.

Pushy attitude aside, i never had any doubt that Natori was gonna help her out with a drink. She's just that kinda person. And it's not like she promised her (soon-to-be, i'm sure) girlfriend to be her exclusive bartender or anything. Heck, i'm sure in the future Natori will open a bar of her own that will be open to human- and oni-kind alike.
