I really shouldn't have read the comment section..... I'm only up to chapter 36 and the comments are telling me that the next few chapters aren't going to turn for the better in anyway. I don't think I'd be able to handle these two breaking up, especially with how angsty the author is probably going to make it. I'm crying already from what occurred at the end of ch36. I think I'm going to drown from my own tears if I read further......

Not yet, but Duterte is kind of weird guy in this respect as well. Philippines has a strong Catholic presence, so there are plenty of resistance but then again Duterte is a dangerous man to anger.

He's for same sex marriage as far as I know based on his public comments about it ("I said I am for same sex marriage if that is the trend of the modern times," he said. "If that will add to your happiness, I am for it."), but he also frowns on divorce.

Yuzu is way too selfish on this one. She came out of the closet and forced Mei to do so. This isn't something you do for someone. This is a personal choice and even though it went very well, she shouldn't have done that.

Plus, she is forcing this relationship. Mei chose another path, and Yuzu doesn't respect that. Love doesn't justify all means. Let's imagine Mei is coming back to Yuzu, I don't think she will be thrilled AT ALL that Yuzu say all of those things.

The fact that everyone is supportive is great but I really don't like how it happened. This is either poorly written or it will backfire at Yuzu (and even though Mei had been hard on her, she would deserve it this time).

Mei also said much earlier to Yuzu that she will deal with being out of the closet if she needs to in chapter 24 during her pep talk in the library. It was Yuzu who was afraid of it much more. So while Mei wouldn't necessarily love hearing that Yuzu had mentioned her name while coming out to their parents and Harumi, I don't think she'd explode over it either

Pool of available extra partners is quite small (~10% more). Sure, you'll see a lot of enticing bodies all over the place. But you're not gonna have much luck with random strangers who actually mostly don't dig same sex like that.

Also, quite a few homosexuals won't actually have affairs with bisexuals and neither will heterosexuals. That's why quite a few bi people tend to stay in closet even when its technically safe to be out. It's entirely possible that by saying you're a bi openly your dating pool becomes overall smaller than if you let people just believe you're a hetero. Negative consequences of that are psychological and are well reflected in suicide statistics and such.

As for the situation in this series, Madarame seems to be in big trouble. That cousin seems pretty creepy. I wonder if he's abusing her because she's a bi or a lesbian and he found it out somehow? "Corrective abuse" perhaps?

You mean Kaede made Konatsu her pet... unless you are referring to that last scene when she puts her paw in Honami's hand, but that was probably a reflex after all the conditioning Hirose put her through, lol. Hirose is still best grill~~

That's true, I got little mixed up there. Hirose and Honami look very similar on black & white pages and wear the same uniform, so Honami has to be recognized from her mole, cropped hair and that small hair ornament.

I think the author's style of drawing faces is little bit problematic and I kind of wish to see more different face shapes. Otherwise this series is great, thankfully.

I admit I scanned through this chapter really quickly to see if things would get better (Kousaka being led away in handcuffs). Nope. Just a slap, OMG I'M CLEAR ALL OF A SUDDEN, I LOVE YOU, and more sex. I think it's time I leave this one alone and read other stuff. It's just too painful (and stupid to boot). This author has her head shoved firmly up her ass. I like her artwork so it's a shame. :/

That would be a horrible ending, because it would hurt Maki as well. The place they live in is small and rumors spread quickly, so she would be branded as a lesbian slut as soon as it came out that Kousaka had sex with under aged teen and she'd just have to endure it for years. She has to wait at least 2 years before she can even think about moving away from the village for high school somewhere else.

As much as I'd like to be a guardian of morals, it's likely the best solution for Kousaka to just bail out of the village quickly and let Maki get on with her life.

Yes. I'm sure part of this was that she encountered a similar situation she had been in earlier in her life and she kind of relived it here in a different role. It's also possible she had eventually decided that she had enjoyed it herself back in the day, so she got carried away with projecting her feelings on Kousaka just based on her talk about "wanting to be an adult already".

I really love this manga, but I hope this really isn't the ending! Everyone had like some sort of resolution in the end...but this ending is wrong, maybe I'm being greedy, call me selfish I don't care, but I want the story to develop further. On another note, I hope KyoAni has the chance to make the anime & make it longer than 12-13 episodes! They're so good in writing about family and it would be so amazing if they focused on lgbtq content too!
