Okay, this is pretty goddamned cute actually. I was all primed to be cynical about it but it's actually really funny and wholesome.

That's She-ra and Catra. Ha. :D

I had a feeling! Those character designs were too specific to be coincidental.

Came here to point this out, but of course it's already been noticed. ;p

(If she's a human form, does that mean she's actually Humantra?)

Yeah and he was in shambles after that conversation and he was humiliated again after that.

Maybe if Sakuma were a reader of the manga instead of being a character in it she would know that the boy who said, “I want you to teach me” didn’t want to talk about the subject anymore.

Assuming he doesn’t they don't, that is.

EDIT: I take it the jury is still out on Kita's ultimate goal--cross-dressing or trans.

Until Kita says one way or the other, it's all speculation. I'd just go for gender neutral pronouns for the time being. It's the polite thing to do when you aren't sure.

Fact is Sakuma brought it up while they were alone in an elevator. They've got a clear view of the entry way as the doors are closing, if she has any spacial awareness at all, Sakuma should be aware if anyone was around to overhear. She mentioned it because she wants to establish herself as an ally for Kita and to let them know that they can confide in her if they want to, and she was frank about it because they need to cut to the chase before they are in a situation where they would be overheard.

I could never understand that how come the two MC do not address each other's first names. In fact, first name with no honorific

Manga characters are pretty weird when it comes to transitioning to addressing people informally. Part of the exaggerated nature of the culture, I think.

"Expensive looking car" lmao

I like to imagine that the car literally says that on the side.

It may be me not reading attentively enough, but I'm yet to actually see the yapping crowd comment on this chapter. I see us commenting what we assume they'd comment, but that's pretty much it.

Absolutely right, BV. Maybe this time we won’t be graced with the previously inevitable Gridman omake chapter supplement.

Just don't say it three times.

I mean, they're still making the rest of S2 as far as I know, and they have three specials after that to tie up the story. I wish we could get more too, but don't neglect the fact that there is still more of it to come.

It's surreal seeing a Whole Foods in a manga.

The manager gag in chapter 84 feels oddly forced. Her (basically impossibly) showing up on the balcony with a direct address is a 4th wall break gag that I don't think has ever happened in the story before.

It also doesn't do any favors to gumi-san, who is looking less like the super competent character with a weird quirk and more like comedy relief

The manager character always felt really out of place in this story to me. I could understand if she showed up in a less grounded series like sasameki koto, but in this series she feels sorely out of place for being a walking bag of tropes that just kinda serves as a hamfisted plot device 80% of the time

How is Sasameki Koto less grounded? It's about two gay teens dealing with bullying, heartbreak, and romance while attending high school and participating in sports. The only remotely "weird" thing in the series, aside from some character eccentricities, is the girly class-VP being a cross-dressing idol and one exchange student that looks a little younger than she actually is.

When I look at the cast of this manga, that feels like pretty much the exact same kind of grounded? They could even easily be the same setting. It wouldn't surprise me a bit if Wanko bumped into Akemiya in a studio somewhere.

For the record, Wanko is 22 at the start of the series. In other words, she has just consigned herself and Sakuma to 7 to 8 years of celibacy for the purpose of entertaining weirdos and potential stalkers. I do not know how that can be seen as a positive development.

They're still living together and having a relationship, they just have to be careful not to show it in public.

Edit: I mean, I'm not saying that's great, but it's not "8 years of celibacy." They literally just had sex.

Can you fucking imagine your neighbor fucking waltzing up to you and saying some shit like "yo heard you and her banging last night, fucking radical"

I mean, if you're doing it loudly enough for your neighbors to hear, you've kind of forfeited any right to privacy.

wow, never realize so many people hate kase too in here hahaha. i thought roommate develop a feeling to kase but suddendly a curve ball to kase's rival bit a disappointed.

I don't think anybody here hates her. You can think somebody's behavior isn't right without hating them. She lets her jealousy get out of control. It's a thing she needs to work on.

As for Fukami, Honestly, Fukami and Mao have had side couple vibes for awhile. If Fukami has a thing for Kase at all, Mao is obviously the safety net that's gonna catch her when she misses the catch.

Well, I mean, "fanfiction rules" is literally 'It's all illegal but the rights holders turn a blind eye because it mostly helps their business"

A fan translation with the original work contained within would definitely interfere with sales, so they'd probably go after it.

Really. That's a shame. I think it would be pretty funny too riff manga and anime.

I don't remember the name of the site of the top of my head, and I'm pretty sure it'd be against the rules to post it, and I think they've restructured anyway so this feature was gone last I checked, but there used to be a manga website where the users could post little messages on the pages, basically wherever you want. You could turn it on or off, so it wasn't an impediment to reading, but it let people slap down immediate reactions and jokes responding to pages in real time while they were reading, with the context of the image right there, and it was pretty damn fun.

The overall effect was very reminiscent of MST3K.

“Stop being sister!”
Yeah it’s like more than friend, right?
“ I’m stranger for years!!”
W-what’s going on now? ( I’m skipped over 5 chapters because I want see how far it go. I know it’s so wrong ;-;)

I think she's disassociating. She feels disconnected emotionally from her daily life. Uta's sister is a role she plays, like when she's teaching. It's a performance for the benefit of those receiving it. She hasn't, until this point, really thought of Uta as someone SHE is connected to, although she desperately wants her to be.

LOL— Shino is the younger sister-in-law here.

Uta was the one in that parallel universe about which our tribe no longer speaks.

(facepalm) Uhhhgh. Sorry, brainfart.

Does Toda want to get out of the eromanga ghetto? It feels like she's in the mentality Morinaga Milk was in with a couple of her manga.

Unless I'm remembering wrong, while we don't really know what motivation is really driving her, Toda has explicitly said that what she wants to create -has- to be eromanga, I haven't seen any sign of that changing. On the contrary, the implication at the end of chapter 24 was that she was afraid she was losing her edge.

-_- (rub forehead) Okay, so. The author gives us a cliffhanger, then spends the entire next episode going back and building up to THE SAME CLIFFHANGER.

NO. Bad author! That's a bad bad author!

The more I read this, the more I like it. I like to see more manga were lesbians flip the script, on het stories.

On a unrelated note has anyone ever thought to translate a manga, and add their own humorous commentary Rifftrax/MST3K style. I don't know how the copywrite laws work but I can't imagine it's too much different than fan fiction rules.

Rei out here making extra money...for Claire?? Is she foreshadowing something?? Either way, Claire was so f##king cute this chapter!

Not having read the original novel, my impression is that Rei is covertly putting down layer upon layer of safety nets for Claire to survive once the commoners inevitably rise up and start guillotining the nobles left and right.

Considering the setting is supposed to parallel a romance game about three princes, I'd be kind of surprised if there's a proletariat uprising. More likely things just go really badly for Claire's family specifically because she was originally the villainess and thus had a designated karmic comeuppance in the original game.

Edit: (Sorry, posted this on impulse before I saw muetokaerou's post. Still, I think the point about the three princes being the main love interests of the original game is relevant to the point, so I'm leaving it.)

Am I missing something between ch 69 and 70? Wasn't Minami the drunk one?

Different circumstances. Chapter 70 is some time after 69, starting "in media res" and quickly flashing back to the previous night.

2, 4, and 5 are all nothing but red flags. Dating a teacher is an awful idea, the kiss demon is definitely a player, and the roommate is just a straight up lunatic.
