Oh, you're completely right, I'm just dumb. For some reason I thought that was a flashback and she was already in high school, when one of the main points of the series is that she's trying to get into the same high school as Akira (and Rin).

It is a flashback, but only to just before the point where Rin turns up to tutor her.

For some reason I thought the other girls were new characters that Canno randomly decided to throw in in order to spice up the story (and I was going to complain about it), but no, they're already there in the first chapter. So it's all good.

I don't generally follow people's Twitter accounts "live", so I didn't know you can see the likes clocking up in real time until just now, when I happened to look at Tatsubon's. There' s already nearly a thousand for the next chapter, in less than an hour... Subject is life drawing btw.

Also, Nice Editor has no flaws whatsoever, does she?

After reading this, I was inspired to try some origami today. I wanted to make a lizard, but all the designs that came up in my search looked really complicated, so I tried the Simple Crocodile instead.

I'm a bit behind the curve when it comes to technology, but do many devices these days have 4961 pixel tall screens? Because if not, those images could be significantly reduced in size without affecting their readability one iota. Not to mention that 32-bit-per-pixel PNG is absolutely the worst choice of format for greyscale images.

I like the way the storylines link back and forth in this chapter. Not a new idea in itself, of course, but well handled. Also, boobs.

While we're at it, the mosasaurus is something of a Schrödinger's cat in squamate form, insofar as palaeontologists can't seem to be able to decide whether to group it with lizards or with snakes, meaning that tagging it would require a quantum superposition of Lizard and Not Lizard.

They will be in volume 4 but volume 4 isn't out yet. Maybe "next spring" was a bit optimistic for it since there's been a considerable hiatus after volume 3.

I'm surprised nobody seems to have mentioned this yet, but Ningiyau Tweeted a while ago about the reason for the hiatus. Apparently volume 3 was crowdfunded, and the sponsors were promised specially drawn illustrations in return, but there turned out to be more of them than expected, so she's been spending all her time drawing those instead of getting on with the manga. She's a victim of her own success.

It says there are more details in the image, but I'm too lazy to attempt a translation. Any chance of a summary, mycro?

Seconded. I took a punt on this manga just now, after reading Shimeji Simulation. It seemed the logical next step; this, or something else with mosasaurs in it, and they're hard to find given the absence of a Mosasaur tag. At least this one has "doughnuts" in the title. Well, it turned out they don't have that much in common apart from that, and the mosasaurs haven't made an appearance yet, but still, I'm rather enjoying it.
