I'm surprised it took this long for this series to show up here. I guess it is a bit too wholesome for you to really do much with though.

I really like the translation work here. It's quirky-funny, without being too awkward or memey, which is a very difficult thing to do. Makoto comes across like a character who's trying too hard to be funny, and not as though the writer is trying too hard to make her funny. I suppose that's due to her portrayal in the non translated work, but preserving that balance is a difficult task for sure. Kudos to Sexy Akiba Detectives for their excellent work here!

This author has no respect for the tenets of comic-book storytelling. I demand more!

Yes you should. It's not a yuri show, but as an idol show, it is top notch. Most idol show drama is very samey and, imo, kinda bland. Zombie Land Saga, however, deals with themes like death and dying, and how people come to terms with their own death, and the deaths of those they love. It's a lot more thought provoking than I personally thought it would be. Although it does take a few episodes to really get to the good parts, it's definitely worth checking out.

Combined

I feel like she'll get her time in the spotlight. The manga does a good job of doing that with its characters.

In regards to Prison Town, yeah, that. I don't think we'll be uploading anymore Squiggles stuff for the time being.

And the other monster girl series I believe was an awkward case of lack of scanlator permission, quickly followed up with the series being picked up for licensing. Kinda awkward situation.

Are we just supposed to hope that Prison Town gets a better translation? I doubt that would happen at this point. I don't know, it just really upsets me that such a talented mangaka who could easily garner a decent audience here goes underrepresented. I read those chapters over on mangadex and there just isn't as strong of a community to really bring out any kind of worthwhile discussions on them over there.

I've suggested Prison town he Youkoso twice. Once when the first chapter came out, and next when the second chapter came out a month later. I can't fathom how it isn't on this website yet. It's a mellow-feeling romance between a Frankenstein-esque zombie girl and a human, and it takes place in a whimsical fantasy-horror prison-world. What is wrong with the uploaders? Do they have no taste? The other one, Bocchi Kaibutsu to Moumoku Shoujo, is a more traditional tale of blind girl and monster girl fall in love. It's pretty straightforward in terms of what you would expect from it, but it's got Neji's charming expressions and atmosphere holding it up. Neji also made two hentai doujins with the main characters. Those only got released in English today, so I can forgive them not being here, but why would I even expect them to be uploaded when the prerequisite manga hasn't?

I'm sorry for being so thorough, but it's just so frustrating seeing works from someone so talented go completely unseen on a website like this, where they would be most appreciated.

I figured since Vacation Maou to Pet was on here, that her other manga and hentai works would follow, but very few of them have made it over, despite being translated for many months. Both Prison Town He Youkoso and Bocchi Kaibutsu to Moumoku Shoujo (and its two recently translated hentai doujins) are not on the site and it bums me out. Do people on this site not like monster girls? What's the deal?

Cocoa is a goddamn sexual tyrannosaurus.

Is this a Borderlands reference I hear?

That’s from Predator, mate.

^This. I've haven't seen predator or played borderlands (yes I know), but that line is pretty well known. No doubt borderlands is referencing it, and why not, it's a line worth referencing.

“I like guys!” Well, there’s the definitive answer to that. Yessireebob, no doubt about it—het all the way. Straight down the line, as it were. Never going back to that client ever again.

Have sex with a woman a bunch of times, and you immediately get stereotyped. It’s just a job, nothing more. It’s not like there are feelings involved. Are you kidding? Feelings—bah!

Definitely getting a guy. At some point. Because het.

Real soon—just you wait and see.

Look, she's just waiting for the right man to sweep her off her feet, then it's no more pussy fingering for her! She'll be straight, just you wait!

As a bi dude I feel for her though. I definitely had a "its just on occasional interest in gay porn, but I'm totally straight" phase. Now I look at gay, straight, and lesbian porn in pretty equal amounts. Took me a while to finally figure out that some guys are cute and that it's okay to think that.

since apparently being into guys is a part of being a girl (his entire personality started getting rewritten because he turned into a girl).

See, this fits with what chiffoncake was saying about the author and what he means with the word "normal".

Why are people still trying to find some hidden agenda in the word "normal"? Wanting to live a "normal" life is an absurdly common trope in nearly every conceivable genre of storytelling, especially manga. You guys are looking way to hard for issues where there are none.

I can't take people seriously who use 'yikes', 'folks' or 'y'all'. Is that a twitter trend or something?

Folks and yall are southern things as far as I know. Yikes is something morons say when they want to bail out of an argument without admitting defeat, by pretending that the opposition is being so offensive as to want their departure.

I suppose it depends on what your definition of normal and abnormal are. Is being abnormal bad? Take genetic mutations like heterochromia for example. It’s safe to say that it isn’t normal, but does that mean it’s bad? Only 4.5% of adult Americans identity as lgbt, with over 95% of the country being heterosexual, is it really wrong to say being heterosexual is “the norm”? And then you have to take into consideration how Japanese society values uniformity. I don’t think it’s surprising that Japanese people would have a stronger sense of normalcy. As long as someone doesn’t start equating being abnormal or different as bad or wrong just simply for the fact that it’s different, I think it’s fine.

ah, see, i think it's important to not confuse something being normal with something being common. heterochromia is uncommon, but i would say that it is normal — and the same goes for being gay, bi, pan, etc. etc.

but "is being abnormal bad" is a great question, and one that i hope this series engages with! because often, discussions over what's normal or abnormal are actually about what's good or bad. and i could talk about the material ways in which the assumption that heterosexuality is more 'normal' harms lgbtq+ people, but i'm kinda tired, so i'll just link the wikipedia page on heteronormativity, since it does a good job of explaining it.

Ok, so which sentence makes more sense to you: 1. "I want to live a normal life." 2. "I want to live a common life." You see the problem here? You're also doing this really stupid thing that a lot of stereotypical social justice types do, where they act as if a word always carries it's negative connotations with it, regardless of the context it's used in. Words don't work this way. The meaning of a word is decided by the context it's used in.

To be frank, isn't that normal for majority of people? There seems to be misunderstanding about heteronormativity and what is and isn't inclusive etc. You see, lgbt makes up a very small portion of human population. So it is very safe to assume that by default most people you encounter and talk to are straight. It isn't wrong to do so. Sure it is nice and all when you're all inclusive and don't make definite statements like "find a boyfriend" or assume other person is straight by default, but not doing it doesn't hurt anyone. The issue arrives when after assuming that, other person is afraid to correct you or if they correct you, it becomes a issue. Assuming someone is straight is not wrong by itself. It is only when after being corrected instead of just acknowledging it, adjusting from now on and moving forward, you refuse to accept it and/or make a big deal out of it.

yikes. yeah, i'm outta here

Yikes, this person is challenging my poorly thought out argument. Yikes, they have a point and I have no rebuttal. Yikes, I'm leaving before I have to make up more nonsense to counter them.

I think Kagami is more the one with the problem than Indou.

Indou is experiencing something for the first time and is trying to work out how to handle it.

Kagami, on the other hand, seems to have a genuine issue that is not yet addressed. She obviously likes Indou as she has said as much, so perhaps it is due to her rank or something else. And nah, I've not read the spoilers, so don't direct me to them. I like to be surprised! :)

I feel like her rank is probably just an excuse to distract from an underlying plot thread that hasn't been introduced yet. If it was just her rank than the solution is too easy, and the story would be too cliche. This story definitely pays homage to a lot of older girls' school yuri stories, but it doesn't feel like it's using the cliches as a crutch, but as more of a cover for the real story. It's clever, and I like it.

Thank you for this precious steamy gift... it was very exciting.. i just love how she draws the sex scenes~( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Her use of internal shots on something like fingering, which most artist prefer to show external shots of, is something I greatly appreciate. Putting the finger in is only part of the act, but the best part is what you do with it once inside, so it's nice to have that visual.

Oh my god are y'all serious? Are you for real right now? I finish reading a wholesome, sweet, light-hearted love story and go to the comments to see other positive comments about it but some of you guys are flipping out and yelling RAPE??? i mean honestly, can you not enjoy something without thinking these things? Just... quiet down and be happy, jesus.

It's kind of text y'know. (See also: the younger sister's immediate alarm upon learning of the relationship.) Takes active effort - or serious blinkers - to not be uncomfortable with that bit.

I'm kind of wondering about that too, between that scene and the sister underlining how she's an animal who just takes what she wants and will throw her away once she's got what she wants, this is the impression the author wants to get across. The idea is that she's the worst, a truly awful person who thinks nothing of hurting others, whose entire world is turned around because she actually fell in love.

One of the lessons that my second African American Literature teacher drilled into our heads was the importance of reading things that make us uncomfortable. If we shield ourselves from everything that causes us the slightest amount of negative emotions, then we won't know how to deal with those emotions in any real-world circumstance. You can't make your bad feelings go away by avoiding them, because they'll just grow and grow, and when they do come out, it'll be much worse.
