Oh we never find out what their names are. That slipped my mind the first time around.

The maid doesn't know she's a robot too apparently. It's cute, especially the passive charging part, I do just wonder what explanation there is for this scenario of two robots living together, both of them apparently unaware they're robots. Is there any reasonable explanation for this set up? An experiment done by some manufacturers or researchers would probably be the cop-out answer lol.

Hmm most of the story so far has been pretty light on drama. Moments of it get introduced, like with Adachi's mom and Gon, and it's spread throughout not lumped together. I expect that will continue. There's still a lot of relatively fast growth ahead of Adachi and Shimamura, so I imagine they will see some happy moments and then conflict between them too.

I'm interested in seeing the side couples reach a resolution too. Yashiro interests me in particular. There has to be some form of conclusion or acknowledgement of her quest to find her brethren. Tarumi of course isn't fully out of the picture. I forget what year of high school they're in now, but I believe it's at least their second year. So college and life after high school is coming up, that would be an easy topic to touch on at some point, especially since they stopped being delinquents together. Adachi's relationship with Hino and Nagafuji still stands to be developed. Lots of avenues to explore, which is good.

This one already bumps itself into the an above average category for me just because it shows them as stage girls, with the fighting included. The rest of it was certainly nice too. Especially the part about on/off stage, scripted and unscripted.

Jesus, no wonder those lines that were used seem so perfect. They came from the show.

Alright folks, Ranked Prelims are over and the results are in... and my efforts paid off!

Nice! You are officially in the top 5% of MR Mirrors Ranking players.

You need to have a wish, a wish that you would desperately fight for with all your heart

Except for all those megucas that did not have such a wish.

What would be examples of somebody without a wish like that? I mean all of the girls we see have contracted so there was some wish they made. I'm assuming Madoka would be the prime example, but I would argue based on just what I know from the main show/a little bit from the drama CDs, her wish is just to be something more than ordinary. And so the actual wish she makes is just a formality. Or it could be said that her kindness and desire to save others is her wish, given how she revives a cat in the first timeline. But anyway I'm curious for who doesn't have some strong desire yet contracts anyway.

[Game mechanics]

I knew about crit not stacking, but there's a hard cap on damage? And the displayed stats don't take into account awakening increases? That is news to me.

Also something that might not be intuitive is that MR has a hard cap of 100% on dmg, meaning you can only stack effects of the same kind up to a 100%

Okay so I have no idea how the damage calculation formula works exactly, but 100% blast damage buff + 100% attack up buff = only 100% increase in damage, based on what you said? Stuff like this really would be nice to know.

Well I'm happy with my C ranking I got for ranked mirrors. Did all of today's battles a won a decent amount of them.

'Grats on the C ranking. I ranked C too. Was hoping I'd get bumped up to B at some point, but that was highly unrealistic considering how many fights I was demolished in.

I was thinking when I saw the cover page that Meiling's teeth looked unsettling. Turns out that wasn't accidental, huh.

Definitely on purpose. It's also part of Zounose's general art style for the youkai. If you look at some other works they've done, especially ones related to eating, the teeth of youkai when they're shown will have unnaturally geometric triangular appearances. And I'm sure in some cases, he adds extra fangs alongside normal flat human teeth, like he does here for Meiling, specifically to highlight inhuman natures.

This is, interesting. And old, so old. This was the first LN posted on here. That's some history.

I couldn't help comparing it to Adachi and Shimamura, but besides the really weird thoughts and dialogue and lesbians, there's not much that's similar. Or MC is bi, whatever the label. The part with Natsuko and being Indian in the past life and eating curry every day was wtf. No idea what that had to do with anything.

But so I guess main plot is Nini dated/liked girls in middle school, which she seems pretty open about; Ayumi becomes interested in her because of her personality and because a quadruple-timing guy Ayumi dated for half a year said she resembled Nini (which he apparently said to all 13 at min. people that he's dated? Wtf is up with that too); they go on a date where they seem to both be crushing on each other; Natsuko gets creepy with harassing Ayumi for info on their hangout/date; and finally it appears Nini was missing for days because something relationship-related.

The last two points are the most confusing. One interpretation of why Natsuko shows up so much is because Nini actually liked Natsuko and confessed to her on saturday, since Natsuko says "the day before last" (which would be a saturday since she says that on a monday) a girl confessed to her. But that doesn't really make sense because Ayumi and Nini had their date that day and they talked at night. Ayumi also asks her for what happened on sunday. Plus I doubt Natsuko would be so calm if Nini had tried to ask her out, and she very flippantly mentions how she's not a lesbian.

Interpretation #2: Nini has a crush on Ayumi, and while saturday was great, on sunday the gaynst hits her and she's depressed about liking somebody she believes is straight. When Ayumi says she's willing to cut her nails and listen, it would then be to signal that she likes Nini back and that she's ready to hear a confession. All things considered this makes the most sense though it took time to logically work out.

Interpretation #3: If Ayumi relating how Nini was acting to her breaking up with the guy was to be taken more literally, then perhaps Nini was in a relationship with someone and had just broken up with them, while having begun to develop feelings for Ayumi. So again Ayumi saying the nails thing indicates she likes Nini, and the listening is just willing to listen to whatever because of that care.

Honestly, they're presented in such a bizarre way, and their conversations make no sense except with the most surreal lens possible. When it's broken down to something more manageable though, seems like a typical story of falling in love. The ending could have been much stronger. It only adds to the confusion when the main text has already done a great job of being hard to decipher. But well, an interesting presentation overall.

Edit: Actually I don't know which of the interpretations is more accurate anymore. Rereading the bottom of page 181, I think Nini is the one who points out Natsuko and is expressing admiration for her, which makes interpretation #1 more plausible. And then maybe Natsuko would have found out about their date because Nini mentioned it during the confession or something. That last part is what makes no sense and what I don't get. Why the hell is Natsuko even in this story?

I also had some other realizations while rereading. It's sort of weird that the short nails seems to be the glaringly in-your-face sign of lesbianism in this story, when that's related to sexual acts? Is that an intended implication? And leave it to a story like this to casually mention a 15/16 year old Japanese high schooler has a Dolby Surround Sound System. XD Like what. What is with that detail.

I don't get the composition of this story at all. Its absurdity removes any emotional impact. And yet that's also what makes it so fascinating.

Ah. This makes me feel so nostalgic. Akaiito and Aoishiro. The former got me into VN. I think that really was my first real VN, and I didn't even play it, just read through it because of the great work of Zohar and any other related people. Honestly I never finished Aoishiro in full because it was much longer and harder for me to be invested in. It was still enjoyable even if not as engaging.

I only found these a few years ago, so maybe nostalgic isn't fully the right word. But I find that there's something beautiful about rediscovering a classic and knowing that experience can't be completely recaptured anymore. In English-speaking countries at least, I wonder if works like these will still be remembered in another decade or if they will have faded away.

So anyway I should be talking about this specific manga, but I haven't actually read it so can't lol. I will return another day to comment.

Also, just checking the light novel tag on this would have helped to find it easily. ;)

Unrelated to the original topic, but I'd forgotten that tag existed and checked it, and it reminded me there was a LN on here I'd planned to read at some point, so thanks for that lol.

Speaking of doujins, this one seems interesting and could possibly deserve a translation.

Ohhh this looks really interesting. There haven't really been any translated doujins of the original cast interacting with MR originals on here. Is there a way to directly suggest something for translation to a scanlator group?

@riverFlower Keep in mind debuffs are not the same as status effects like charm, poison, fog, etc. In this game "debuffs" strictly mean changes in status like attack/blast up/down, accel mp up/down etc. So if you want to remove status effects then Nanaka won't help however characters like Kako will.

Oh they're not? I'm going to go for Yachiyo first then lol since I like her more and I'll take my chances with her crit connect.

In a lot of cases people dismiss anyone without a 5* uncap, unless they have a particularly interesting niche to fill such as Kanoko(who is one of the four characters who can pull off lockdown memes, and the only one who isn't a nat 4*), plus guaranteed Curse isn't that good when you have characters like Holy Alina and later on Ui, who have it plus better stuff on top.

Don't those 20 levels make a pretty big difference stat-wise? In Mirrors especially when there's barely enough time to pull off one connect. Even in PVE there's a really noticeable drop in attack damage against higher level enemies.

I feel like a bomb was just dropped on page 3.

Clearly you are not familiar with this author lol. Or the edgier works of Touhou.

Yakumi Sarai never fails to deliver. I wonder if the title refers to Meiling or Sakuya. Probably a little bit of both, with the part about peach girls near the end leaning it more towards referring to Sakuya. That is some classical conditioning Sakuya was banking on there lol. Associating her human scent with the food Meiling already liked to eat. Honestly Sakuya is scarier here than any of the youkai and only shows off more of how abnormal of a human she is. Normal humans are scared of the idea of being eaten. They are afraid of youkai. XD The irony.

The extra page at the end wrapped it up nicely. I wonder if Remilia wouldn't already find her appetizing, even just as herself.

I can't decide if I should awaken Yachiyo or Nanaka first. Still haven't gotten up to 1 mil CC, so clearly this is going to be my last 5* awakening in a while. Yachiyo has higher survivability, but Nanaka can remove debuffs. Both of mine have no slots unlocked, and Yachiyo's at lvl 4 magia, Nanaka at lvl 2.

You can read all the posts here for beginner tips. Or just ask away :)

I took a look at the shop guide which was helpful as the shop is confusing as fuck. I did wonder though, the costumes provide no gameplay benefit right? As a F2P, I don't want to spend any gacha currency on things outside of the gacha. XD

As for actual canon yuri

Oh well that's something. Do any of the more common ships I see on here (eg. Texas x Lappland) have any canon backing?

And going off of that, what would be your evaluations of the main story, world lore, and/or character stories? So far the prologue and chapter one have started off with some interesting world-building elements, though I'm not a fan of the amnesiac self-insert protagonist and I'm wondering if the characters will get more depth to them.

alright, i‘ll just avoid this forum till whenever a new chapter drops

What, why? I never actually spoil anything, just express glee when I know what next new great thing is coming and tease a bit so people get hyped. I'm plenty silent sometimes, I don't go all Ursula Cackle every time lol

I honestly love when you tease us, it really does hype me up;excited for what's next, there's really no fun if there isn't a little teasing.

/resumes giggling in QC

Don't let it bother you lol. Some people might want to avoid any potential spoilers, even something as simple as whether the next chapter is an exciting one, happy/sad, etc. And that's their choice and what they're doing as their comment states. Having a little bit of a teaser is fine, it can add to the anticipation.

I like how everything else is rendered in pretty detail, clear lines, light reflecting off hair, some gradients of color with shadows, and the food is just a series of mono-colored dots and scribbles. XD

I became curious about this game cause of the recent outpour of related uploads. So far barely five hours in it seems like a decent gacha game. So two questions: is there anything approaching actual yuri in this game? And how fair is the game to new players?

I get that in order to getting as many megucas as possible, they had to bend some rules a bit, but the way it's presented in game, pretty much anyone can become meguca.

Kyubey was always contracting girls out of the wazoo, just that they weren't important for the story to focus on who those girls were.

I'd say that statistically, being a magical girl isn't a chosen one thing, where there's one in a million, but you do still need something special. You need to have a wish, a wish that you would desperately fight for with all your heart, and the potential, however Kyubey determines that.

And if we want to go into completely conjectural statistics for the percentage of magical girls who contract out of all females in a population, this says Kamihama's population is about 1 million. Assuming the female population is one half of that, there would be 500k females (although assuming Kamihama's sex ratio matches Japan's 1.06, it's actually less than that). Then you have to take into account age and based on this population pyramid, let's say 10% of the female population is of contractual age. So Kamihama's population of females able to contract becomes 50k. Then we have roughly 100 named magical girls (which takes into account different versions of the same girl and girls from other cities). Then there's a bunch of unnamed feathers, some who are from Kamihama and a bunch that aren't. So idk, maybe add 50-100 unnamed magical girls to the total number of magical girls. Oh I know, you see roughly four feathers per two named magical girls in chapter 8, so let's say there's 200 unnamed magical girls.

(100+200) magical girls / 50,000 total Kamihama, contractual age females * 100 = 0.6%

0.6% of all potential contractees is not much. It is still a significant enough percentage to be notable, but it's quite uncommon all things considered. This assumes that all my assumptions are correct lol, but I'm happy with the overall picture it paints. I spent too much time doing this. XD

I don't. I don't think there is any good place to farm them in the first place.

There's no reliable way to farm millions on end, granted, but for reasonable amounts the Labyrinth quests are better than nothing, particularly during events that halve AP costs.

Ugh I figured. Once I'm done clearing AS might start throwing AP at the weekend labyrinths.

I just buy all CC available in mirror/support/event shops and hope It'll last me until next event. Not randomly ascending all your megucas/their magias is important too, as later lvls are the main place where you spend most of your CC.

I see how precious that support shop 500k is now. By the way, when you guys have extra support points, what do you spend it on? I've pulled on the support gacha a few times because memoria chance.

Guess I'm not going to touch any blast gorilla's magia for a while. Anything invested in magia for them really seems wasted, as increasing their mp to 100 is pretty much never the most efficient strategy during a fight.

The Golden Orchid

@riverFlower Until she (Homura) finds out one of those players were Madoka. Also speaking of Homura I could see her spending all of her magia stones (and money) on any banner featuring Madoka in them.

That'd be meta, OG Homura and Madoka playing the game and trying to roll for their respective person. Madoka would probably get Homura on her first roll. Homura would probably spend hundreds of rolls and still not get Madoka. Poor Homura. XD But on the upside she'd roll Madokami first time.

Unrelated game question, how do you guys farm CC? Yachiyo is ready to be awakened to 5*, and some other characters are soon approaching having all their awakening materials + lvl 5 magia materials, but I only have 0.9 mil CC. I'm realizing how pitiful the CC drops are in most quests and I'm finding it really hard to resist buying the 50 gem mirrors set.

Also, I ship Ashley with Riko given how close they are in Ashley's side story.

At first I thought you said you shipped Ashley with Rika, and I was about to go to war lol.

Her bullying Homura is probably due to her fate weave coming right before Coolmura's, draining gems that otherwise would've gone to her.

Weird, I would think OG Homura would be happy to have less attention on her. Too busy being re-traumatized over and over to care about a bunch of gacha players trying to collect her character.

@SuperText I've heard of that theory myself and it does seem plausible that Kuro and Kuroe are the same person given that from I've heard Kuroe was seen in the Wings of Magius near the end of the show.

That would be some heavy fan ascension lol. And based on what I understood of the character, the exact opposite of what Kuro is meant to be. Her witch form specifically makes it clear she's supposed to play a minor role. I haven't watched the anime so actually I can't make any grounded assessments, but it'd be sort of annoying if something else established in the game gets overturned.

You guys speculating is making me want to spill out all the beans about the next few revelations... would you all be interested in me explaining what is up with Ui?

I will wait for the story to explain it to me lol. Even if the wait is agonizing, it's part of the experience.

Ah, it really doesn't fit them or my version of them at least, but it was sweet.

My favorite part was Sakuya taking notes on the demonstration and looking unfazed like she was actually learning something.
