All I can hear is Ashnikko’s Slumber Party while reading this. Hahaha.

My 9yr old niece saw that video in my watched history on YouTube and wanted to watch it. I panicked and kicked her of YouTube. All I could think about was what the hell would I say if she asked me, "What does cunnilingus mean"?

oh oh yeah make sure she does not see that homie, and if she does tell her its another meaning for lewd hand holding

Her older sister let her watch Cardi B's WAP. Thankfully while I wasn't in charge.

That felt like one of those "no homo...right" moments.

Not gonna lie, I think this would be kind of a weird conversation even if you were dating.

!

EDIT: Can anyone name ANY anime/manga series with a chapter where a bunch of guys get together just to cook? For example, to make the girls they like homemade sweets for white day. (Food anime/manga, and yaoi don't count for obvious reasons.)

Yeah I know the "homemaker" element is a thing, and I understand that's what the both of you are taking frustration with. Which is fine, just in my experience there's a decent amount of males in series that like to cook as well, which I don't think working on becoming a chef disqualifies it. Food Wars the MC is in cooking school sure, but I think it's cool because I find in the American culture I live in that it's very common for guys to be like "Of course I don't know how to cook, it's a woman's job!". So for me any series with men that like cooking is cool, regardless of intent haha

One of my favorite characters that just enjoys casual cooking? Shirou Emiya.

My point is, the stereotype that cooking is a woman's job is alive and well in Japan. Sure there is the occasional male character that can cook, but almost all manga aimed at school girls has at least one chapter focused on the MCs cooking.

Food stories don't count because, despite cooking being seen as a feminine skill, chef is traditionally a male dominated field. So learning to cook in order to become a chef really can't be seen as defying gender stereotypes.

In "my wife is the student council president" the male MC is basicly like "nope! its MY Kitchen"
And he does occasionally Cherry her Up with food

Not exactly what I challanged people for, but I'll count it as one.

Wow. Anime, and manga REALLY hammer home, the concept, that girls need to be good cooks. In fact It would be hard to find a long running shoujo anime/manga series that doesn't have at least one story arc involving the main characters either practicing, or displaying their culinary skills.

In fairness I know a TON of anime & manga where the male character(s) are/also great cooks. I think Japan in general values food & cooking, which as a foodie who loves cooking I'm here for it.

I also think it's a pretty common idea in many cultures that great food with friends & family is a good time. Which as you can guess I very much agree with, I love Holidays and cooking for others :D

Maybe you're right, but honestly the only examples of male characters that can cook, I can think of, are ones that are either studying to be chefs, or as a gender role swap thing. And I don't know of any male characters that studied cooking solely so he could "cook delicious food for the girl he liked".

I've had a long standing hatred of the girl cooking to please her man trope, ever since my Ranma 1/2 fandom days. Akane was always desperately trying to learn to cook for Ranma, despite the fact Ranma was a good cook already.
When Ranma's mom said she knew Akane was just trying to cook something to make Ranma smile, I angrily thought, why can't Ranma cook something to make Akane smile?!

I like to propose officially changing the series name to The Alcoholic's Guild to Yuri Flirting. I just wish the yuri was less subtext and more overt.

It seems to me that Ito and Sumika's situation is pretty straight forward. I mean living together in a loving relationship, what's to not understand. A loving couple is still a loving couple, even if you don't call yourselves that. Honestly not using a label, just seems like a way to avoid admitting you're in a homosexual relationship.

EDIT: If by any chance morter reads this, the extra chapter is example of showing that two people are having sex without the need for a sex scene.

What is with these delicate, slow burn stories? Where is the passion? Women kiss, women FUCK. This pure love innocence uwu stuff in yuri manga is so cringe and so unrealistic. I mean goddamn they are married and sleeping in separate rooms, kurumi is always leaving ruriko alone, like how is she okay with that?? Zero intimacy, zero acting like a couple at all. I just feel like love between women is so misrepresented in manga sometimes, as if it’s somehow less than. Anyways, apologies, end of rant

No judgment but I think you just need to read hentai if that's what you're going for. There's story-filled hentai/ecchi manga. Have fun with that.

There are ways to show that a couple is sexually involved without needing hardcore sex scenes. The classic, showing the couple passionately kissing while collapsing onto a bed, then showing them lying in bed under the covers, with just a hint of bare skin, comes immediately to mind.

You think this is slow burn!? Talk to me after you read 35 chapters of a series and they are still using lines like "But we're both girls" or asking things like "Is there someone you like".

It seems to me wether or not you're a NEET is a straight forward question. Do you have a job? Are you in training to get a job? Are you in school? If the answer is "no" to all three questions, congratulations you're a NEET.

EDIT: Shoot I forgot about housewives. I guess that would count as a job, I might be ticking people off with that though. I'm not totally up to date with PC terminology.

Well that was

Honestly I don't know how to describe how I feel about this one. I'm normally impatient with series where there is a lot of chapters with little or no movement in the MCs' relationship, but I was strangely okay with lack of progress, in this one. I kept thinking "They will get there eventually", only to get to the end and be told the lack of progress was the point. I don't know wether that was an inventive twist, a lazy out for an author who just wanted a quick end, or an infuriating betrayal, of all the readers, who were rooting for Tsukiko and Aya to get together

The junior should at least know that the waiter is a girl in drag, right? I mean I would think that it would be made clear that it is a crossdressing cafe.

maybe, cuz why would she's entering a crossdress cafe without her knowing it

You would think the junior would know it's a crisscrossing cafe, but I worked at a hobby gaming shop and people walked in by mistake all of the time. They had no clue what we sold, despite walking through the door marked Phoenix Games in red letters right at eye level. My boss even had an old lady ask him where we kept our bananas.

This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end

Of our elaborate plans, the end
Of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end
I'll never look into your eyes again.

Edit: This chapter combined with The Doors lyrics made me cry.

Heh heh heh check it out. It's chapter 69. heh heh heh cool.

Wait would they even get the"69" joke in japan.

I think they have a different funny sex number over there

I hope it's not 6.9 because that's just gross.

Does this have a tragic ending? Your legally required to warn me if this has a tragic ending. Like an undercover cop is legally required to tell you he's a cop if you ask.

If this is just going to be a gag yuri about Meruko going to absurd lengths chasing her one sided love, I'll pass. I give it points for setting it in a co-ed school, though

.

I'm a little disappointed that Sera's big investment in the the relationship is that, it just makes her life easier. However Kasumi, from Room for Two, acts the same way, and I've been told, very angerily by the fans on the series message board, that she and Sakurako are a happy couple and never question their relationship status again. So what do I know.

Tbf Kasumi does eventually reveal that comming home to a smiling Sakurako makes her very happy

I figured Kasumi has feelings for Sakurako, and that she will eventually come around. It would be really cruel if she had been just staight up using Sakurako the whole time. I just disagree, with the superfans on the current state of their relationship .
