Passbook is still safer. You are forced to sign a paper in order to get any money out. The passbook does not reveal how you sign. So picking up a pass book would mean nothing because the clerk will instantly reject your request because the bank itself holds the correct signing sample.
Credit Card numbers can be stolen, especially nowadays where everything is now electronic. If someone pick up your credit card, the least they can do is to have a super luxury meal since your card has the signing, so as soon as you managed to forge, you can start using it. And i am sure criminals would learnt how t forge within 10 minutes of picking up your card.

In Japan, credit cards aren't used much .Most of the time, they pay in cash. Most konbinis don't even have a credit card terminal. It's a cultural thing. So people may happen to have wads of cash on them. Not very secure. Thankfully, Japan has a low crime rate.

And credit cards aren't insecure. I don't know about the US, but in Europe, a signature is utterly useless in regard to a credit card. None ever uses the signature. You have to have at least the pin code. And even then, there's usually a very low limit of what amount of money you can withdraw or pay if you happen to have both the card and the pin.

Nowadays, credits cards, at least in Europe, have Multi Factor Authentication. For every transaction on internet (so without the pin) you have to validate something on your phone, with your fingerprint as proof.

If in the US a signature is enough, it's really backward. Get on with the times.

I found this one a bit confusing to parse. Saori had a beloved? Did I forget something important? I know she was obsessed with her sister, but I didn't think she had dated anyone.

It's been stated in the main series that Saori is/was in love with her sister.

And Shizuku was in love with Minami.

Their relationship is based on "licking each other's wounds", because their love is unrequited (and will stay that way), but it looks like Shizuku moved on and found in Saori someone who wouldn't "abandon" her.

Now, it's Saori turn to accept it. She's the tsundere, so it may take some time.

All in all, I think these "side stories" are progressively resolving the pending couples of the main series. The gamer couple is done. Saori x Shizuku and Sugimoto x Kujou are on their way.

I think it's because 18 is still in the "teens", even though they are by law considered adults.

From 20 and on, people are a lot less concerned.

Someone 30 dating a 20yo wouldn't raise much brows I think. And as both their age progresses, a 10 years difference becomes less and less relevant anyway.

I do not get the Dynasty readers’ concentration on age gaps among grown people who are out of school. Sure, age differences affect the details of how relationships work (which is one of the reasons authors deploy them), but if there’s no official power differential (teacher-student, boss-employee), what real difference does an age gap make?

There's often at least a difference in experience of relationships.

Here, Asako has been in romantic relationships before (and got burned) but the younger Miyako, a priori, never was.

This change the dynamics.

But other than that 26 x 19 is perfectly fine.

Next chapter is the last one + a bunch of afterword sketches and rants by the author I doubt the scanlators will translate.

And yeah, it's a timeskip

Overall, I think it's a manga you'll find interesting/great if you can relate to the aroace spectrum, because representation is always a good thing, but for me, it didn't spark anything, because I found both MCs too self-centered and uninteresting.

To each their own.

Yeah I’ve been curious what their official heights are, the difference is delicious.

It's written at the end of chapter 6.5.

They got 10cm difference.

There's always a second lottery they registered to.

So if they win again, she might go with Asako.

Oh yes, for those who are curious about the name of the magick that Maoa performed. (magick, NOT magic, it is not the same) The English translation apparently uses Vietnamese, which uses Latin alphabets, so the translation is not quite there.

Where the hell do you get Vietnamese?

The English translation uses Chinese pinyin of the characters you wrote here. It's probably just that the font they used didn't have the proper accents so they used something approaching.

So the Chinese translation will probably leave them as is.

So to Yasuko I too say be careful not to fall in love with Terumi.

It was clear that Yasuko was being very horny, not that she was in love. And she's already aware of Terumi's multiple partners anyway. Didn't keep her from coming ringing.

In the end, it's a oneshot, so the author left the rest to us.

Yasuko and Terumi's story can go any way you want now. A drama filled with jealousy or a happy open relationship. The way you choose tells more about yourself than about the characters.

Where’s the bisexual so I could’ve had this filtered off by default

It's ambiguous. All her partners looked like androgynous women, except the last one that triggered the MC.

And take your bigotry elsewhere.

From my cursory search the name Shouta seems to be a fairy common Japanese name. One possible reading is Soaring, Big.

While it's a common name, it's also synonym with "very young boys", in various contexts.

It's also the name of a character in Dragon Maid, for the exact same reasons.

"Shoutacon" is the same as "Lolicon", but for boys.

That the co-mc is named "shouta" shows that the author is self aware.

The scanlators are doing what they can. They have a life too and sometimes they have better things to do, since they're doing this for free.

People complaining about the lack of updates are just annoying them.

And people posting spoilers are even more annoying because it disincentivize the scanlators to do it.

You can read Japanese, great for you. Just don't try to ruin it for other people, like "I don't like how it goes, so you should all drop this" or "This is so great, I liked the kiss in the chapter that wasn't translated yet. You'll like it".

Who cares? Just comment on what everyone can read and everyone will be happy.

Well, I also think this will develop like the other series of that author. With a happy end once Nagai is of age in a few years. The drama in her series never go overboard. It's usually the older female who's all flustered and the young boy who gets more assertive as the story progresses. I see this first chapter as a repeat of Game Over.

The Reliance series should be a bit more interesting (for me at least) because there's more potential for angst and drama in the lesbian setting.

As someone with zero interest in the series this is spun off of, am I missing anything important? Before I start reading, does this stand on its own in terms of character development?

If you read back in the forum a bit, I (having coincidentally finished binge-reading the main series just before this started here) discussed it a bit. The important points, imo:

  • The MC is an entirely new character.

  • The glasses girl, Shiki, and the nurse are both lesbians, but they're not in a relationship (they each have unrequited loves--Shiki with the now-transferred MC from the main series, the nurse with the music teacher).

To set the timeline straight, this is their third year of middle school. And Kanata Tanaka (Shiki's love interest and former co-MC) wasn't transferred. Only her boyfriend was in their second year. We see Shiki interacting with Kanata in the first chapter.

And I think that what Tachibana notices here is the peculiar relationship between the nurse and Shiki: they are awfully casual with each other from the point of view of a Japanese middle schooler. Which hints at a weird relationship.

There are probably subtleties in the tone/language level used that are impossible to translate.

The whole plot revolves about "brides" and "weddings". It's the central theme here.

Kashiwai loves weddings. She can't help but dress women she sees as brides. She's in love with the concept of "brides", she's a bride otaku.

And, somehow, it's like in Tsuzuki, she found the perfect bride, her "eternal" bride. So, I'm not sure their relationship is going to turn romantic in nature. But rather, obsessive in nature.

I don't know what Tsuzuki's angle is yet though. Why she's fascinated by Kashiwai too remains unclear.
