Nope. The word used is 処女 (shojo - virgin), not to be confused with the 少女 (shoujo - girl) that's in the title. Technically it can also mean maiden in certain situations, but virgin (as in "hasn't had sex") is the definition used in this manga.

Well damn, the first chapter doesn't do this manga justice. Sure, it's not perfect, but it's way beyond what I had expected. Both characters have developed nicely and become much more likeable already. Now I'm actually looking forward to seeing how their relationship progresses.

It almost feels like it deserves the Alternate reality tag...

This is my favorite manga of all time. Never before have I encountered a work that has come as close to absolute perfection as Bloom Into You has. When reading the stage play arc, I kept thinking, "This is fucking brilliant." I'm convinced Nakatani-sensei is an actual genius, because the characters and plot are so expertly crafted that I had to wrack my brain for a while in order to even think of a single flaw. The anime adaptation is also superb, and I'm one among many praying that we can make yuri history and get a second season that finishes the story told in the manga. The final chapter is exactly what it needed to be, bringing a satisfying conclusion to every character's story. The time skip caught me off guard (in a good way), though it makes perfect sense in hindsight. I'm super excited to hear more about Sayaka's relationship with Haru-chan in the third light novel when it comes out in the spring.

It's sad saying goodbye to this world and its characters (though hopefully we'll get that second season eventually), but I'm really looking forward to seeing what genius creation Nakatani Nio puts out next.

I think what made this resolution work for me was seeing how truly distraught Shizuka was at the thought of losing Mio. She wasn't faking tears to try and keep Mio around to use as a substitute for her ex. She learned how much Mio meant to her, and I don't think she'll make the same mistake again.

Hmm...I don't know, it didn't feel rushed to me. The previous chapter definitely felt like the penultimate one, leading up to the climax and resolution. Maybe I'll feel differently when I read the series all together as a whole, though.

Also, I was NOT expecting the polyamory ending. Holy balls. What's more, I think it actually works really well for these characters, even though I often find that polyamory is very difficult to make work well in a story.

Overall, this was a solid read. The highlights are the absolutely gorgeous art and largely unconventional plot, plus a fantastic main character.

I wonder if "butter dog" qualifies as masturbation... isn't it just beastiality at that point? Well, whatever it is, I could have gone my whole life without knowing it existed. Thanks manga.

I think that's just a common misconception in general, not just in Japan. Nevertheless, I don't think that's what this manga was depicting. It seemed more like Nemo was going out of her way to deliberately break her hymen.

Can you imagine?
Noble pilgrim unwittingly helps her god survive in an increasingly apocalyptic Tokyo by applying lessons she's learned from a post-apoc manga(obviously the god can't do it herself for reasons). Meanwhile their budding romance gives a mangaka the inspiration she needs to put pure hope into her story, which is then used by a cabal of editors to save Tokyo/the world.

I'm praying to the author of this manga that you're right.
