^ Huh, never seen that one. Looks like old prototypes of the characters.

I do think it fetishizes a specific body type to the detriment of trans women and intersex individuals, but I can't prove that. On a personal level, I just really don't like dicks. On anyone. As far as I'm concerned, futa ruins perfectly good yuri.

^ I could be wrong if there's more recent art, but when I was a supporter of 23's the only time we ever actually saw a dick rather than the implication of one (with poses or phallic objects or suspicious fluids) was a Halloween piece a couple years back, where it was a temporary magic dick and Ursula was apparently a (literal) witch.
I remember because I had always latched onto the plausible deniability of a feeldoe rather than acknowledging the artist's obvious fetish. Oh well.

Not sure I'm here for the ship but I'm definitely here for Dame Crocodile being built instead of an hourglass like almost every other female OP character. Too much fanart has her too scrawny.

^ So you are of the interpretation, against (so far) every instance of or adjacent to Oda's word of god, that Yamato is something other than female?

Edit: I looked up Cagliostro. First, yeah, duh, obviously trans, she literally made herself a new body of the opposite sex. Second, what on earth does she have in common with Yamato?

^ I genuinely don't know what point you think you're making. My point was there are other examples of gendered terms of relation being used for a person of the opposite gender.

On top of that, we were never given a specific reason why Yamato is referred to as Kaido's son, but I think the strongest theory remains that Yamato was to take over a position of political power traditionally held by men.
And Mordred?

^ I don't consider either of those examples conclusive. Mordred is Artoria's "son", is she not?

I will only ever refer to Yamato with she/her pronouns. In-universe it might be a bit more nuanced, but it makes sense for characters to refer to Yamato with he/him pronouns if and only if they are either humoring her roleplay/delusion or take her statement about being/becoming Oden at face value (probably just Luffy). All the members of Kaido's crew, regardless of if they call her his son, should refer to her with she/her pronouns as an implicit rejection of her claim to be Oden.
I understand that it's easier and less confusing to use one set of pronouns, especially if using two, one of which is technically inaccurate. However, using he/him universally misrepresents far more characters than using she/her universally.

Do other characters refer to Yamato as male explicitly, or with masculine terms? That's rhetorical.

Look, I'm not unsympathetic. I understand, to an extent, where the confusion comes from, but I'm also really tired of this debate.
Yamato is not transmasc, she's either delusional or an extremely dedicated roleplayer (IIRC, she referred to Momonosuke as her own son to his face), and either way to compare her mental state to being trans should be offensive to real trans people. It's supposed to be a silly character gimmick that some characters in-universe see through, some humor, some ignore, et cetera. Other characters obviously know that Yamato is not Oden and (most) should not refer to her as though she actually "became a man" or whatever because that makes no sense and is not what being trans is.
I consider it a bad dubism because Yamato adopting Oden's identity is supposed to be a joke, and changing the entire cast to take it 100% seriously (in a way that, again, disrespects real trans people) because Western audiences are overly sensitive to gender-related topics right now was a terrible decision, in part because it spawned this debate.
Think about this: If Yamato had adopted the identity of a specific dead woman instead, to the extent of referring to that woman's relatives as her own, the only thing we would be debating would be if she was actually crazy.

Rant over. Please don't make me do it again.

^ Except in her introduction info box, which carries the most weight due to being direct from the author, in which Yamato is referred to as Kaido's daughter.

^ Again, using he/him is dub-only. It should be considered as canon as Sailor Moon's resident lesbians being cousins.

^ Strictly speaking, if they are made with genetic material from both twins and are not identical quintuplets, no. Double half-clones, more like. Each kid would have a random recombination of the same genome, but they'd all be very very similar rather than identical. Also X-inactivation is a thing but let's not even get into that.

^ Is Dexit not still relevant? Just because people have forgotten to be mad doesn't mean it shouldn't still be unacceptable. I'm still boycotting the franchise because of it (and the removal of a ton of moves with even less excuse).

^ I think part of the "Man of Steel, Woman of Tissue" premise is that involuntary actions like ejaculation can't be held back consciously like everything else Superman does ("World of Cardboard" and all that). I've never actually read the essay.

I love how this comment section turned into who could overpower who. They're not fighting. If Supergirl wants to sub, she'll sub, doesn't matter if she's stronger.

Edit: Unrelated, but if Supergirl squirts, it is like a pressure washer that only superpowered individuals can withstand, or is Superman's ejaculate only lethally forceful to normal humans because of the presence of living cells?

^^ Fun Fact: The artist made character sheets earlier this month, revealing that Beverly and her brother Dan (who appeared in one of the longer comics) canonically have myostatin-related muscular hypertrophy, A.K.A. the Hercules gene, A.K.A. that thing they used in experiments to make buff beagles.

Also, when you're that jacked, you want to show it off, and sometimes it's too cold for crop tops.

this will involve futanari, won't it?

I really hope not. We've already seen a very male-looking Nephilim with male pronouns so maybe this'll be more nuanced in what it means by "androgynous".
Also the Chinese translation is already available for the next chapter...uh...elsewhere and it certainly doesn't look like it in the first scene, in which Maria is naked. There's what looks like a forced breeding scene later but everyone's basically fully clothed and it's 110% ambiguous visually what genitals are or are not involved.

In a sci-fi setting this focused on reproduction there shouldn't even be a need for fucking and any combination of sex/gender should be able to reproduce artificially. But whatever.
