Yes and they're also presumably meeting next day on the train, since this was how Takamine wanted to give her tickets in the first place so I'm not sure that this separation is much more than a bit of narrative symbolism but who knows, maybe Sakura will mysteriously get sick :P

Who is Iwagaki anyway? There's a few characters that I'm not sure if I've just forgotten them or if they're new.

Iwagaki was introduced as the girl that was obsessed with Kamisada and got jealous about Toudou because of it (of course), but for whatever reason she kinda lost that characteristic? Most recently she was notable for having a beef with Yanagi :P

I like how the reaction to Tsubame being weirdly upset about Kuze being able to mimic her perfectly was "yeah let's do exactly that but even more literally"

Have you ever seen a trans or GNC person buy their first set of affirming clothes? If anything this is a rather realistic depiction of the irrational paranoia you can develop when afraid to be "found out".

Not saying anything about it being realistic or not, it was just a bad decision (which people do make in real life) regardless of paranoia, not sure it has anything to do with that you said. In both options someone would presumably notice the doll is missing, in the one she chose she was actually more likely to be found out (and well, it happened :P).

The dumbest thing that doesn't matter that I noticed on reread - you could say it's hindsight, but really - isn't it a better plan to just take your stupid figurine away during working hours at some opportune moment, instead of sneaking in when it's not your shift looking like the most suspicious person ever, and having to escape when someone approaches? :P No one would give a second thought about a stupid doll that's missing from a lost and found box (hell, Yakou would be probably happy that she doesn't have to resist licking it lol), they would probably assume that the owner already collected it when it was someone else's shift.

This is absolute madness by Usui Shio standards, gone wrong (gone sexual), surprise is an understatement. I guess something to balance the more conventional series going on at the same time (which had a kiss on the cheek now, scandalous!)

Also, you know these author avatars that are sometimes appearing in afterwords and stuff? Usui Shio's is a little doll, really makes you think :P

My copy arrived as well, I bought it on impulse because I liked the chapters here so much, actually first physical manga I ever bought... and immediately I feel a little silly because I obviously can't read this thing since it's in Japanese, and now I have to keep it hidden or my secret of being a yuri fan will be exposed!

It better gets multiple volumes or I will feel even more silly! Go buy this thing if you liked it :P

It's somehow disappointing to me that the most obvious plot twist happened, but I guess there is a small twist to the twist still, since she seems to be somehow regretful that the real Kaoru never actually pat her head, implying that the ruse was too good :P

To me, one of the reasons Usui Shio's works have not been "like everything else I read", is a lot about the way they present the story, the way they construct and develop the characters and the plotline and the depth in them, and other nuances in their style and writing, and I really want to see these qualities that I adored in both "Donuts" and in "Marriage" (this is a terrible shortening lol) in a more, for lack of a better term, "traditional" romance story.

I basically feel the same way, a large part of why I like this author is the general pacing, character interactions, certain sense of humour etc. This would still all work regardless if Doughnuts ended with a passionate kiss at the end or not (and considering the story it's as valid of a choice as what actually happened, at least in my opinion), but I really wouldn't mind if this time things go a bit more spicy.

Not feeling this one so far, bunch of contrived nonsense

It just hit me I've been frequenting these forums for 5 years now (and the website itself probably a bit longer than that), and I dunno how to feel about that :P If I told myself a while back that reading romance stories (never mind yuri specifically) is how I will choose to spend some of my free time, I would probably be pretty surprised.

Anyway, I had fun here, and I hope that will continue :P

This chapter felt a bit redundant? Sure, Nekomori backstory was a bit expanded but I think we got the gist of it already, and the rest of the chapter is just her overhearing the argument that alreaedy started in previous chapters :P
