These are very interesting characters. The MC’s male friend is a fresh type of asexual character who’s a keen observer of romance and people in general. His perspective of others is interesting as well, it feels like he’s part of the audience for this manga. The MC is also very different from your typical yuri heroine set, and everyone here feels and talks like actual human beings. I can see why this gets so much love.

Well, since you asked, I'm going to be a nice person and give you a heads-up.

MAJOR SPOILER ALERT, read at your own discretion:

Drop this manhwa as fast as possible if SejuxSumin is your OTP and you can't handle an ending with your ship sinking.

Seju cheats on Sumin/gets drugged and raped (one of the most important points of debate in this manhwa as it is portrayed very vaguely) and they break-up. Sumin doesn't give Seju any chance to explain herself as she is coping with her parents' death at the time and it's is too much for her too handle.

Even after their break-up, they are in an on-and-off sexual relationship for ten years, which does nothing but to help in the process of increasing the toxicity they had from the beginning of their relationship. As revealed in the flashback side story, during the course of their relationship, Seju is overbearing and controlling at times and Sumin is a shy doormat who loses all of her social life in the process of compromising with her. They obviously end on bad terms and have no possibility of getting back together.

TL;DR: SungjixSumin is end game. Seju and Sumin part ways for good (implied). Seju gonna get a new love interest in the next side story.

I think it’s because:

near the beginning of their friendly relationship, the moment Sungji hugged Sumin instead of asking her for sexual favors, Sumin finally realized that Sungji’s thoughts [and love] for her were somewhat innocent and not clingy/physical like those other cheap girls who asked her for physical favors. I guess Sumin has a rather different taste for girls, for those who are not “tainted,” if that makes sense.

In a way Sungji was exactly the kind of genuine person Sumin was looking for imo. Drama free and honest I guess

Seju is already much too late in apologizing or trying to clear up misunderstandings, and Sumin shares only a dark past with her, so in a way it’s kinda too late for them to repair their relationship. They still do care much about one another and sometimes secretly help one another, but they miscommunicated for too long and ended up tainting one another.

She knew that she should get out or else she'd drown...but why? How her hand let go of the bathtub left me puzzled...did she deliberately let go of the bathtub or was it the alcohol's fault? The last dialogue on the last panel makes me think that maybe she finally gave in to her demons at the very end and decided to end her life. It'a bit easier to accept that then that it was just an accident. Either way, this chapter left me almost in tears

She was very drunk, and on top of that, was very sleepy. Two of those don’t mix well ayy :( Only if she hadn’t taken a bath and just gone straight to sleep, she would have been ok. It seemed like she was dreaming about their past while sleeping. She was already asleep when slipping in and bubbling.

I remembered this today, and I hope it does update again sooner than later; I want to see the last body dragged from the wreckage.

Plus, I kind of wanted to recommend it by necro-ing the thread. It's a very interesting take on an intense, abusive, codependent relationship. It's a miserable love that's like a trap neither main character can really understand, or escape.

The art has its problems, but I rather like it for trying for this exaggerated realism rather than the more anime style that manga about homosexual relationships tends towards. I think it helps emphasize how squalid, how awful, how physical the world of this story can be.

The style seems intentional though. The art is consistent. I think the mangaka is going for a more retro artsy look more so than a moe and proportional style. I’d say to ignore the stereotype that says only clean, proportionate art is acceptable for manga.

I have a hunch that the artist was trained in action/thriller manga, moreso than drawing shoujo stuff. The style resembles a lot of the retro drawing techniques.

Have no idea why this is tagged non-moe art. Character designs are a little bit unconventional, but overall it's nothing like other manga under this tag with purposefully rough\"heavy" or primitive drawing style. It's still smooth, clean and bright, with a lot of cute facial expressions. Praha is sweet, and Hiro-chan is surely moe, especially when she's blushing.

It is non-moe art. Characters don’t have large eyes and their proportions are drawn out pretty realistically. The art of this mangaka’s works looks like they’re made for adults and older teens.

Moe art is generally known as characters that look somewhat childish (or younger) with large eyes. Meaning, art like that of Kyoani studios (Air, Haruji Suzumiya, K-On, etc)

This is real character development. The author is a genius at accomplishing this within just four chapters, while certain Shounen artists whom I will not name cannot even do this with over 200+ chapters lol.

It sounds like you are at the beginning chapters of White Angels... it gets a lot crazier and nastier later on.

She binds people who she hates in malicious sexual contracts, and is later revealed to have tried to rape her own sister. That, and the extent to which the other girls bully people and manipulate people is terrifying. Yeonhwa herself also exhibits twisted ways of punishing bullies.

Yeah the slave contract is uncalled for. The girl should have apologized for her hitting the main character. But you know, Momono did not write this. It was some musician who barely has experience in writing and just got to write because she’s famous and liked Moto’s style I guess. And not all of Moto’s works are questionable. She did have some pretty decent works, like that one about the girl who was heartbroken about the teacher leaving their relationship behind.

Erotic isn't bad if it isn't rushed and if it does come naturally in the relationship.

But I get it must be very difficult to make this particular relationship veer toward eroticism in a way that won't make the readers (too much) disturbed.

If I have to be honest with you—All well known Lezhin GL works have implications of abuse and/or rape. What makes a Lezhin comic is the standard formula: drama, angst, past with a rape or abuse related incident for at least one character, family drama, physical violence, verbal abuse, and pretty much everything else that is nasty about life. They like to draw out the darker and more truthful sides of human life.

For example:
Love Doctor-a very Sweet story, but near the end, The MC’s best friend Suji runs into some trouble with her former friend.

White Angels Have no Wings is absolutely disgusting. I have never read anything like it before. Every character is an incredibly hateful, deceitful, and downright awful person.

Blooming Sequence has some implications of physical violence and domestic abuse. I do not recommend this one either if you don’t like abuse either.

Serenade is awful too. Almost at par with White Angels Have no Wings, but less crazy

What Does the Fox Say is borderline porn with way too much angst. The first chapters and last chapters of the series are definitely not for you.

Dynasty does not want to risk getting into trouble. Lezhin works are protected under strict copyright laws, and the mangakas and manhwa artists profit off of their works, and infringing upon their copyright can result in lawsuits (by Lezhin or authors) or the site getting forced to be taken down.

Lol. Pretty much the story is:

-Before she leaves for her family visit, girl bites girlfriend’s lip on purpose

-Bitten girlfriend can’t eat anything because of the bite scar (I know, I feel so sorry for her, wtf honestly lol)
