strange babies ch 2, pg 64 has an error, was fixed http://safe.yuriproject.net/src/strange_babys_ch02_064.png

EvilDevil, I really don't think this thread is the right place for these announcements. How about you just create a new topic for that?

Not sure I would have eaten her. Chances are you're going to get caught and take her place, being tortured for decades. Instead, I think I would have tricked one of their guys to eat a part of her (by preparing it to look like normal food). The girl dies and I (the cook) will probably die too. But at least the one who's going to get tortured will be one of the sadists.

I am not a fan of embarrassing pet names between couples. I find them embarrassing.

Fun things are fun!

Maybe it's just me, but I collect manga in my personal library. Update notices would help keep that library up-to-date.

I guess if there are people who use it outside of Staff, it's fine to keep posting it.

I have my own offline library as well but posting updates in this thread is not gonna help me much. Most update posts are of no interest to me and they are not sorted in any way to make them digestible to me. And they clutter up the discussion of actual improvement suggestions. It would be much better to send me an email with the notification that a chapter that I'm subscribed to was updated. Ideally make it optional whether I get chapter update notifications too, or only notifications for new chapters. On-site notifications would also be a good thing but also require more coding.
As it stands, posting updates in the series discussion thread is better than nothing but has a >90% chance that I won't read it.

Edit: Thanks, Faust.

When there is a (not resized) page that is horizontally scrollable, the area you have to click on to get to the next page isn't positioned correctly. It's positioned at all times where it would be if the page were resized.

I realized how to make the gradient good-looking. Use this file instead: http://s18.postimg.org/lgn7xmde1/Gradient.png with repeat-x as before.
I created it with an ease-out function and some dithering.

The gradient in the background of this site just stops at some point when you scroll down enough and you can notice the discontinuity.

That's because the css value for background-repeat is set only to repeat-x instead of repeat in general (which it should be)

While I don't know anything about how to make websites, you can't just repeat a gradient. Even mirroring every other copy would produce a second order discontinuity (if it's a linear gradient), which our eyes are good at picking out. You could probably just stretch the gradient over the whole vertical height of the page. Or over the total vertical height of the screen and keep it locked in place. But I'll leave that to the developers. As I've said, I have no idea how websites work.

You can easily repeat this gradient. A lot of web gradients focus on making things which run back to the start at the end so they can be easily repeated. This gradient is one of them. Soft-gradients are tricky (ones defined by color values in code) and so to get around this, web designers often put hard-gradients into very narrow, tall or very wide, short raster format (png, jpg) which is then repeated... as this one does.

Sorry for going so off topic. But when I search for "css repeat" all the options I'm getting are "repeat", "repeat-x", "repeat-y", "no-repeat", as well as "initial" and "inherit" which I don't fully understand.
It sounds like what you want is "repeat", but when I open the devtool and replace "repeat-x" with "repeat", it looks horrible as expected.
Then, I tried replacing the background strip with two copies of itself, one of them mirrored so it's a strip that's twice as long and wraps properly. That also looks hella annoying (But for different reasons than I expected). You can see for yourself, here is the texture: http://s22.postimg.org/5a551mpr5/background_53c84c6526385c136e9d19490e1f7521_2.png

what about something for tagless stuffs? i know ive seen a few tagless works here and i have no idea how someone is supposed to find those without already knowing what they are looking for.

A "tagless" tag would present an interesting logical dilemma.

Is there no page 87 in the latest chapter?

This manga sometimes has empty pages between the chapters that I removed.

I think, if I just knew that the uploader could get back to me if there's any problems, it would take a load off my mind. "Did I really paste the correct link"? "Did I really upload the correct file?" There's potential for a number of silent errors which, even if they don't usually lead to problems, create anxiety. That's me, anyway.
And yes, if a submission is rejected, you absolutely should get feedback of some kind. And you should know that you will get feedback, or it will lead to anxiety again.

So, if there are technical reasons why we can't have direct feedback to upload requests like we have for tag suggestions, can we have an email field (in the upload form) where we get response in case things go awry? You probably already have our emails but for psychological reasons it might still be good to have an email field, because of the tacit implication that the uploader will contact you under certain circumstances.

There's a really dumb mistake on page 1 (me being stupid, not the QCer's fault). New version's gonna be up soon.
Edit: Fixed now!

Why does this have, like, five different dialog fonts that change seemingly at random?

Couple of quick translation suggestions:

p. 54, second panel down on the left: I have seen you use this translation, "Hi hi!" a few times in the series but only now looked at the original. The original this time is "うふっ”, which is basically the sound they use in anime for sophisticated female characters to giggle/half laugh. I dunno if this has been consistently your translation for giggling sounds? Maybe you are thinking of "Hee hee!" which is an English "giggle" sound but more mischievous, less "regal." IMO a literal transliteration is best for this sound, there isn't a directly analoguous English word or sound.

p.55 - The lower left panel, what Mahiro says "~言うこときくから” the meaning here of きく is more like "comply with" than "listen to." So maybe "I'll comply with anything you say, ..."

Just my two cents. Thanks for your continued heroic efforts on this wonderful series!

"Hi hi" is the German version of "Hee hee". I've never thought about whether "Hi hi" existed in English and no one's called me out on it. Thank you.

In general, I have been having trouble finding people who proofread my script or do QC for me (most of the time no one proofreads). If anyone in the thread who has a good command of English would interested, that'd be great.

Couldn't find this suggestion in the search, so... how about adding an "Engrish" tag? I, for one, would like to avoid such works and a tag would help.

I think it's called "One Of A Kind Productions"

Noted, but there are others, too.

Huh. I hated that dog and was relieved when they gave it away. I mostly disliked they way it was drawn though; it didn't look like a real dog, somehow.

I find this one a bit less appealing too, but it's partly because the older partner isn't taking responsibility in any way. Like, the kid knows nothing, but is enthusiastic as hell, wants to learn, wants to be useful. She could eventually become useful, which would make her happy and fulfilled.

So what does the older partner do? Does she mentor the kid? Does she teach her any skills? No, first she just sloughs the issue off with "You're fine as your current (helpless, useless) self"--but only in a vague, wishy-washy kind of way, nothing that really affirms her worth or indicates emotional attachment or anything. Then eventually she says "You want to be useful? Here, have a plant. I won't tell you anything about how to take care of it, I'll just set you up for failure." Gee, thanks. Same goes for the garden stuff--"Weed these plants. No, I won't tell you among all the massive variety of medicinal plants what might constitute a weed, just try at random and I'll make you feel like a moron when you get it wrong." Uh huh. And she's supposed to be the competent one?

The servant seems to mostly operate on a "defend my turf (and badmouth the mistress for not being able to take it from me)" approach.

The kid is adorable. It's not her fault she's useless, she wants to change. The other two don't seem to want her to, but they want to look down on her for being the way she is at the same time.

(The earthworm was very cute)

As usual, your analysis is spot on. This is irritating me as well.

The first pairing of Legally Married universe is likely still my favorite, too bad nothing new comes from them

Interesting timing.

If you still need the cover scans, I have 1-9 of the Japanese books. If you let me know the specs on the scan you want (resolution, filetype, etc) and how to get it to you I can do that.

Oh that would be great! Filetype and resolution doesn't really matter as long as it's high quality. It will be released as high quality jpeg (or possibly webp or something, I will have to look into how well supported that format is nowadays), and in the resolution of the rest of the pages (~1386*1920). I can't give you any tips for scanning however, since I've never done that. As a bonus, you could also scan the table of content. I'm using the German kindle boks now for typesetting, as they are of higher quality than the Japanese kindles, but the covers and tocs are different.
Oh, and as for how to get them to me, you can send them to knobibrot@googlemail.com.

#31 is on the frontpage again, but it's the old file... Will probably get fixed soon. Update: Fixed!

Also, one thing that I didn't anticipate: the higher res scans look actually worse now when resized, because it introduces artifacts in the checkerboard-pattern areas. And resize is active by default on Dynasty... Oh well, not much I can do.
