Even aside from precocious puberty (treating this is one of the medical uses for hormone blockers by the way), normal variance means that there are 173cm (5'8") and even taller 2nd-3rd (5th-6th) graders. The closest elementary school has a 6th grader around 180cm (~5"11').

That's probably more related to age than anything, they may have been held back. Precocious puberty actually makes a child shorter than average.

The mom is a badly written plot device. First she smacks the taste outta Sora's mouth at the drop of a hat, but then goes "alright, do what you want" when she displays any resistance. The whole arc pretty much went like:

"It's me, Evil Mama! She's coming with me!"
"No, Evil Mama, I love her!"
"No, Evil Mama, I want to stay!"
"Curses, foiled again!"
[kissy time, applause ensues]

I get that forced drama is the most popular way to extract a climactic confession in yuri manga, but this was just too on the nose lol. It even happened at the most opportune moment possible; just in time to avoid the perfectly unstrained confession Ayaka was going for earlier.

She went from fully obese to a perfect hourglass figure. Not impossible, except for the fact that she wasn't even trying to. That just doesn't happen lol. Your body won't just ignore the fact that you're not eating, and hunger would make it impossible for her to draw for long periods of time. If anything she'd get fatter.
