Exactly how is the relationship abusive?

Frost literally wanted nothing to do with Clarice and was happy to let her to her own devices as long as the king would believe the marriage scam, so he would let her alone. She only acted out once Clarice barged into her private room and discovered her secret, and every time since, it was always Clarice forcing herself into whatever Frost was doing, much to her chagrin. If anything, Frost has the patience of a saint to have not really lashed out against a busybody like Clarice that just doesn't seem able to let her alone.

The project teased by Sabu was a new batch of merch, acrylic stands, badges, shikihsi and mini-plushies!

Ah, my bad. I meant Dahlia and Violet.

But if they were just school friend, why call her "older sister"? However close people get with friends, I have never seen anyone call them older/younger siblings before. "Like an older/younger sibling," yes, but I don't know if it's just the translation.

So is Dahlia actually Shion's older sister or not?

Because is giving the plot a convenient out to "wash" her hands and letting her ride off into the sunset with Natori when everything is said and done, is slowly shifting the narrative so the anti-nobility faction are the true bad guys of the story and so, it kind of justifies Lapis crusade. It turns Lapis from a cold, calculating villain into a grieving child lashing out at the world.

I guess is just me but I think the narrative was more compelling when there was not a huge "freudian excuse" to justify Lapis' actions

I think that Lapis being laughably evil would be too much, but the twist of her being Aurora does it feel like a way to make her a sympathetic villain, like in every other isekai where the villain is the love interest/protagonist. The way Lapis was being presented as being completely wrong and aware of it but not trying to justify her made this series stand out in the genre but now is falling back in line.

You think we're adapting to the wedding? I've enjoyed Mei's journey so far and her efforts to open up in her way, particularly in the context of this major school project. I'm still unsure of where Sabu plans to end it, though. Do we know the exact date the wedding took place? I haven't thought about it much, but it might be nice to know how far off since each chapter is dated and a good amount of time is passing.

BTW, our PFP's are almost reverses of each other--just something I noticed because the colors stand out so much. I did enjoy that anime, even though it was so silly at times (unless I am completely getting the characters wrong).

I'd assume she will, since the characters introduced in citrus+ weren't present in the original wedding, so I'd expect Sabu to either explain their absence or to retcon them in. We only know the wedding happened after their graduation and citrus+ was advertised as an "interquel" filling the gaps between Yuzu proposing to Mei and their wedding, so citrus+ should cover the rest of the third year. We are in November and Japan's school year end in March IIRC so we have five months more to go.

And no, the girls in my pfp are Mirei and Mamori from Valkyrie Drive. I just noticed the full pic isn't uploaded here, sad.

yes, seven months which is the 7 volumes we have of citrus+ but they already knew each other for a long time. how many of those 7 volumes has sabu dedicated exclusively to showing us the courtship of those two from a romantic perspective and not just crumbs? that's the problem, without forgetting two very important things, they are living their courtship under the same roof and that they are engaged. for god's sake, in this chapter she asks yuzu to write him a letter, when they are face to face alone in the room. I say, wouldn't it be time to have a conversation? I admire people who read citrus+ and everything seems perfect to them, and I mean it (no sarcasm or irony in my words) because they could be enjoying it and not as is the case.

Eh...the courtship was the whole point of the original citrus.

Yeah, great development having Mei show us that she's able to have emotions... after how long is it? 17 volumes? And god knows how long they've been together? And for a couple that's bout to get married?

I get it that some fans might still enjoy these two touching hands once in a while, blushing when the other say something vaguely nice and so on, but we're not talking about a couple that just asked each other out for the first time, we're talking about two engaged girls. And yet they still behave like almost strangers, just casually giving a compliment to each other once every blue moon while they're busy with school mergers, doing homeworks or getting mixed up in other people's unnecessary dramas. There's anything but the proper development of a relationship here and that's not exactly the story as advertised

Mei was repressing her emotions through all of citrus, citrus+ is where she's making an effort to make up to Yuzu for everything she made it go through. And strangers? Mei is actually trusting Yuzu with her plans for the academy, something the old Mei would've never done.

Again, I'm baffled at all the comments saying that Mei shows no emotions when this chapter is all about showing how out of her depth she is with her own emotions due to having been repressed for so long.

It was nice to see that Grampa Aihara has chilled out and is on good terms with the girls. Ume continues to be a treasure, and Mei asking Yuzu for a letter was incredibly sweet.

So, then indeed this isn't Lapis but Aurora pretending to be Lapis. Funny how this happens in the following chapter, after we discussed the viability of this theory. I'll eat my words and admit I was wrong by dismissing ht idea entirely, but I still think this is a dumb direction to take the story and one that is at odds with the entire setting, essentially putting us back to square one. I think that Nekotarou is a good enough writer to deliver a satisfactory story but right now, I'm not pleased with this.

Spoiler about Chapter 29 :

Chapter 29 gives us more details about how Lapis and Aurora met. Even if you can't read Japanese, which is my case, it's not too hard to understand how it happened.

Pay attention to the eyes.

Well, then.

I guess I'll have to eat my words soon, although that reveal leaves so many more questions than answers.

I never said that Rubeus was invented, I said that he was bumped from faceless NPC to major character in response to Natori's actions to save Lapis. And the whole argument was not about game mechanics or logic, but me thinking that the theory of a sister switch would be something Natori knows beforehand, something that doesn't mesh with the way the writing has been going so far.

That said, we can't ignore that Natori's cover story hinges precisely on her deep knowledge about the game.

Rubeus' addition triggered the entire arc of "turning Diana into a villain" that was absent in the original game, with the sole goal of ensuring the conflict between Diana and Lapis that would lead to Gran and Diana slaying Lapis at the end.

You know, as fascinating as the theory of a sister switcheroo is, I don't think it works well with the setting of the story of this being a game Natori obsessively played and knew all of its tricks and secrets. For a huge fan as Natori, she should know well of a twist that big.

My main reason for disagreeing is that the plot here is obviously different from the game (as synopsized by Natori) from day one, tied specifically to actions taken by Lapis, specifically the summoning. If one of the reasons for this is that Lapis is secretly a different person with (potentially) distinct magic ability, then we square the circle on why only some of the story seems to match up so far.

The game is forcing itself to fix the story by reacting to Natori's intervention, though. That's why Rubeus became a proper character instead of the random NPC that didn't even have a portrait that Natori knew.

And with that, Diana officially leaves the Natoribowl. Now let's hope Lapis doesn't screw everything up.

Apparently this manga got an english license release on INKR. Published by HERO'S INC, can't find anything on them though, weirdly enough. The english title "Drawn Together" is a bit unfortunate and lacks doesn't really get anything across like the Japanese one but oh well~

https://comics.inkr.com/title/2512-drawn-together

It really was a poor choice for a title

https://www.imdb.com/es-es/title/tt0386180/plotsummary/

Probably why it is no longer available.
