Again, I'm baffled at all the comments saying that Mei shows no emotions when this chapter is all about showing how out of her depth she is with her own emotions due to having been repressed for so long.

It was nice to see that Grampa Aihara has chilled out and is on good terms with the girls. Ume continues to be a treasure, and Mei asking Yuzu for a letter was incredibly sweet.

So, then indeed this isn't Lapis but Aurora pretending to be Lapis. Funny how this happens in the following chapter, after we discussed the viability of this theory. I'll eat my words and admit I was wrong by dismissing ht idea entirely, but I still think this is a dumb direction to take the story and one that is at odds with the entire setting, essentially putting us back to square one. I think that Nekotarou is a good enough writer to deliver a satisfactory story but right now, I'm not pleased with this.

Spoiler about Chapter 29 :

Chapter 29 gives us more details about how Lapis and Aurora met. Even if you can't read Japanese, which is my case, it's not too hard to understand how it happened.

Pay attention to the eyes.

Well, then.

I guess I'll have to eat my words soon, although that reveal leaves so many more questions than answers.

I never said that Rubeus was invented, I said that he was bumped from faceless NPC to major character in response to Natori's actions to save Lapis. And the whole argument was not about game mechanics or logic, but me thinking that the theory of a sister switch would be something Natori knows beforehand, something that doesn't mesh with the way the writing has been going so far.

That said, we can't ignore that Natori's cover story hinges precisely on her deep knowledge about the game.

Rubeus' addition triggered the entire arc of "turning Diana into a villain" that was absent in the original game, with the sole goal of ensuring the conflict between Diana and Lapis that would lead to Gran and Diana slaying Lapis at the end.

You know, as fascinating as the theory of a sister switcheroo is, I don't think it works well with the setting of the story of this being a game Natori obsessively played and knew all of its tricks and secrets. For a huge fan as Natori, she should know well of a twist that big.

My main reason for disagreeing is that the plot here is obviously different from the game (as synopsized by Natori) from day one, tied specifically to actions taken by Lapis, specifically the summoning. If one of the reasons for this is that Lapis is secretly a different person with (potentially) distinct magic ability, then we square the circle on why only some of the story seems to match up so far.

The game is forcing itself to fix the story by reacting to Natori's intervention, though. That's why Rubeus became a proper character instead of the random NPC that didn't even have a portrait that Natori knew.

And with that, Diana officially leaves the Natoribowl. Now let's hope Lapis doesn't screw everything up.

Apparently this manga got an english license release on INKR. Published by HERO'S INC, can't find anything on them though, weirdly enough. The english title "Drawn Together" is a bit unfortunate and lacks doesn't really get anything across like the Japanese one but oh well~

https://comics.inkr.com/title/2512-drawn-together

It really was a poor choice for a title

https://www.imdb.com/es-es/title/tt0386180/plotsummary/

Probably why it is no longer available.

New ship is a go. Although I certainly didn't expect that incest subtext in Dahlia and Violet's relationship.

Regardless, Clarice continues to be the MVP by recklessly rushing headfirst into things with little worry about the consequences. We need more heroines like her in Yuri.

At this moment, the magicross arc felt like a full volume of filler.

That senpai might as well be saying "Go Allie and charm the panties off of that commoner!"

That said, looks like Lapis is taking back the spotlight in the next volume.

So Lapis is basically aiming to pull a Darkseid on the commoners, manipulating things behind the scenes and even fostering a new beacon of hope that the commoners can rally behind, so when she finally pulls the rug under them, not only the genocide will be justified, it will also cut from the root any future thoughts of insurrection and solidify the Nobles' position.

And yet, I think that final page says more about her mental state, those bags under her eyes and resigned (maybe even wistful) look while she looks at Natori cheering, tells me her resolution is starting to falter and the ominous "I really need to end things" is because she knows that if she doesn't act fast, she will become unable to give up Natori and continue with her schemes.

In that vein, is 100% true that Allie is Lapis' perfect foil and I'm sure that she will be key to stop the genocide and save Lapis from her demise.

I'm not familiar with the Philipines history to say something about ti so I'll take your word for it, but I don't think this has anything to do with "American culture war slop", is merely about coming to terms with the story of our own countries and strive to be better. I don't think that holding on to a grudge for something that happened centuries ago and is impossible to change is the way to do it, especially when there are more urgent issues happening right now that we can do something about.

That said, I'm always thrilled to see the history of Mexico acknowledged by foreigners, both the good and the bad, because ultimately, we are defined by the sum of our parts.

^ "Jokes" about rape and oppression is 'fun, interesting and easily digestible' now apparently. Jesus Christ.

I love learning about history myself and there's plenty of YouTube channels I watch for that. Look how I never had to turn to artists like Centurii (who downplays colonization and rape and thinks saying the N-word is funny) to learn about history. You're seriously deliberately misinforming yourself on history if these kinds of artists are what you look to for source.

I see you missed the part where I mentioned history is my dayjob, is it because I'm well informed about the history of Mexico's colonization that I find Centurii's comic funny. The union of Spanish colonizers with indigenous women is why Mexico is such a culturally diverse country, and denying it or refusing to acknowledge it is denying our very existence.

Speaking as a Mexican guy with a degree in archeology, that post of Centurii-chan with the Spanish colonizers is absolutely hilarious

The colonization happened, and both Mexico and the Philippines as we know them wouldn't be here without them, yeah, the process hurt a lot of people but it happened and we can't close our eyes and pretend it didn't happen, we have to face it head on and learn from it and there is not better way to do it than by turning it into something fun, interesting and easily digestible for everyone. I know for a fact that a lot of people have learned more history from Centurii's comics than in history class. So just chill.

Is back! YAAAAAAAAY!

I'm so grateful for the recap because boy, the story keeps getting more and more complex, and I get lost easily, so those recaps are a lifesaver.

Since this chapter is pretty much justs etup there is not much for me to say but I find very interesting that Masaki was a classic weird kid just a couple of years ago, was Honda that big of an influence on her or there is something more at work?

Also, I love Dorothy's chibi doddles, they are filled with so much personality.
