Mind over matter in all questions for me. If we accept that transgender people are the opposite gender due to their mental situation, then so must we accept that a man genderswapped into a woman's body is still a man if he perceives himself as such.
For a while anyway. Eventually the mind adapts (usually) to anything.
I'm not opposed to hetero relationships, so of course I don't mind this much. But this isn't "pure" yuri.

Nothing wrong with having this discussion either, the meme is just the trigger.

Well, there are two complicating factors.

First, does the magic of the crown only affect the body?

Second, what if Bowser was a closeted trans...um..."person"...in the first place? Certainly they'd jump at the chance to have a crown like this. I'd expect "manly man" Bowser to be, understandably, pretty hesitant to literally give up his manhood, but Bowsette seems pretty enthusiastic about the new form.

Well, I'd say it shouldn't, because the original idea was to turn Toadette into a Peach clone, but I doubt Nintendo would somehow alter her mind to actually think like Peach too. So the same should probably apply to Bowser and his perception of gender... well that's three degrees of theoretical already now lol

Hahaha, you'd certainly be right if that was the case. I don't really see a single hint towards Bowser being trans in the slightest during all of the games I played (closet or not), but what scenario could lead to him using the crown then? It's not the first time he used items of great power to alter his appearance or power set. If he thinks this will get him closer to his goal I'd assume he'd be fine with the bodily change.
The human looking approach certainly would help him ease things over a little with Peach. And considering she always denies all advances from men... who knows? I'd be more willing to believe Peach was a lesbian all along. If Bowser figured that out, the rest is obvious (I'm not serious about this theory lol)

I don't think is hetero, but genderswap is not everyone's cup of tea when it comes to yuri... For example, I wouldn't like to read a love story where the main character was transformed into a girl and tries to turn back into a boy or viceversa, is like reading yuri that will eventually NOT be yuri... I enjoyed watching Kasimasi but I'm not taking any more risks, But if we start debating about what's more important between the body and the mind then this will turn into a different discussion without end in sight ... Not worth our time and honestly not worth this meme's time (which will die out anyway).

That is a great apology actually. My favorite dysfunctional couple!
Your Saa-chan is a bit dense, so you gotta put that ring on her yourself...

I don't think that logic would convince everyone drawing Bowsette with Mario that they're actually drawing yaoi. Although there is gonna be a Bowsette Only doujin event next month that will feature crossdress cosplay, creating an odd scenario of males dressing up as a female version of a male character.

At least to me it feels like it is, but everyone has their own take on this stuff.

I'm vaguely terrified and yet you have my curiosity.

A woman that loves what she sees. And what she sees is herself as a punk with enormous tits.

She convinced Peach to pose like that for the camera. One second later Peach was already on top again.

Fresh memes invigorate old ones I see. The cycle of meme cannibalism never ends.

If you really think about it... these Bowsette x Peach pics imply that Peach is a narcissist who could only love Bowser when he becomes her. lol

Okay people, let's not front. It's still good old male Bowser inside. The crown doesn't do anything about that. So this is actually hetero.

But if you really think about it, Bowser was always kinda like a single mom with 6 children from a previous marriage.
The big turtle deserves some love after all the years of rejection and failure. No matter what form it takes. if he is happy and Peach is happy, why would we worry about the details?

It's better than Bowsette x Mario at least.

Another strapon shape like a dick... It's such a turn off.

As opposed to it looking like what? A cucumber? Eggplant? Tentacle?
I think this shape is pretty safe. Does its job perfectly without being actually futa or anything.

If you can only like her at her princiest, you don't deserve her at her girliest.

Plot twist, those vines/thorns are just drawn on with permanent marker. They seem very flat.

I asked a version of this translation question in another thread with no replies, so I'm asking here. It's a phrase I've seen in a number of different translated manga in several different places.

The translation is: "First time I see you here," when the usual phrase would be, "First time I have seen you here."

Technically speaking, it's the use of simple present tense ("see") for present perfect tense ("have seen").

I've seen this error (if that's what it is) many, many times in a number of translated manga. This series especially comes to mind because it's repeated three different times when depicting the meeting between Itsuki & Sawa (the model/forgotten childhood friend). A version of it also appears in the latest chapter on p. 13 when the cosplayer says to Asuka, "Isn't it the first time you cosplay this character?" when standard English would be "you have cosplayed" or "you are cosplaying," etc.

What's puzzling about it is that it shows up in translations that otherwise use even more complicated English verb tenses correctly, including conditional tenses ("would have been," etc.) and present continuous tense ("I am seeing"), among others.

Is there something about Japanese grammar that makes "I have seen" (or "I have never seen") a particularly tough one? Or is it a dialect or idiom of some kind?

I don't think it's necessarily grammatically incorrect. If you read it as, "(It's the) First time (that) I see you here," then it's all present tense. It's not something an English speaker would usually say but it might be closer to the Japanese while still not breaking any rules.

Informal speech. Slang. Truncated sentences.
This is nothing unusual in English or any other language. People on the street do talk like that. You probably don't even realize how many times you break grammatical rules when you speak or write.
Yes, you can call it lazy, but English is a lazy language anyway.

What bothers me the most about Bowsette is that it's not even the right hair color. I know the power up its based on doesnt really do that, but this is fake anyway, so go the full mile. lol
