The fact that this starts feeling like a yuri harem makes me think there won't be any actual yuri in here, but the girls helping mc to grow as a person and a hero.
Swiss hero having no legs was a surprise too.

No I didn't remember that. Guess cause the story was so focused on her issues, or the fact that she didn't show the session with her therapist and just mentioned it?
Anyway, it's hard to criticize her progress because we're talking about a real person here.

This story gives me (social) anxiety. All these small everyday life things just get so painful. Getting up to get some water? Omg lets stress and get depressed over it. Then cry about it too.
The author needs help and I'm not saying this in a bad way. I didn't see her writing about visiting any therapist, but she needs one.

I like how there's actually a plot here and not just a mess of random episodes with the hero fighting bad guys. That's a must for stories anyway, but a lot of them don't even have a proper development, so this story is already above average.

Kaoru was never self-aware of such feelings. The first chapters actually prove that more . Her complete obliviousness towards how strange and misleading her actions with Uta were is only more proof that she never saw Uta that way. After Uta confessed she had a strong kneejerk reaction, because she does genuinly love Reiichi (I really don't understand how anyone can question that she at least did initially. Whether she is falling out of love or whatever doesn't really matter).
Let's not forget that Kaoru and Reiichi were already together before Uta moved in with them and she didn't seem to have issues back then.

I agree with this. I just think people want to see something gay happening and start grabbing on straws. Of course it's not impossible for it to happen because that's a story and author can bend and stretch it however they like, but so far Kaoru has shown a very straight type of feelings for Uta. She loves her yes, but sexually or romantically? I don't see that at all.
And if they end up together, I'll think she did it out of desperation, considering she lost Reiichi first. She just is that type of person. She even is willing to keep getting cheated in order to keep Reiichi, so why not be with someone who she loves as a family, as long as she gets to not be alone.

Women relaxing in a bra is a myth. Bras suck, and most women take them off as soon as they get home.

Really? I relax in my bra pretty fine. Not all bras are super tight and also depends on the breast size.
To me it seems like the time Kaoru leaving wouldn't suffice for Reiichi to go there and then also come back.
The bra detail felt like it was there to give a certain impression for Risako. Like her being lusty. (not saying hanging pit with your bra is lusty in general, just in this situation and context). But I don't think it matters that much either way much tbh.

Edit: Wait nvm. There was plenty of time for him to go out. Because when Kaoru checks her phone it says 16:10, then in the train scene it says 18:00

I can never wrap my head around how stupidly fast some one shots go. They literally met a second ago and right after she kisses her? Then next day she says she loves her...omfg

I don't think the pace is slow, just people wanting to see the resolution already.

Sorry, not even close. The near-certainty of Reiichi cheating appeared in Chapter 10; it has yet to be confirmed in Chapter 26. And it’s not just slowness—Chapter 14 ends with a cliffhanger of Uta in the process of confessing to Kaoru; we get what happened next spoiler: not much in a flashback in Chapter 17.

And the side chapters with the friends seem to appear at random, with little reference to whatever’s happening (or not happening) in the main story.

So no, complaints about the pace are about both the tempo of progress and the structuring of the presentation of events, not about the need to resolve the plot.

At this point it’s not entirely clear what the plot even is.

(Next time: Kuro and Miyabi argue about kitchen organization!)

I only agree about the friends story being a drag. If you removed them, the pacing for me is good. Just because the cheating hasn't progressed doesn't mean it's slow. Because this is a character based story, and not a plot based. Ever since then, there was a lot of character changing.

It feels like I made a mental note a while back that there seemed to be a lot of guilt over Something Bad that was keeping them all together, but I could be mixing it up with another manga (I have gotten this one and "My Brother's Wife"

I don't think this happened here, you're probably mixing them up. It was only hinted that Uta has issues with her parents, but not that they stay together because of guilt.

I don't think the pace is slow, just people wanting to see the resolution already. I'd think this was slow if this chapter was a filler and didn't move the plot forward. We needed to see how Kaoru reacts right after Uta leaving.

I remember a comment saying that while Uta was with them, Kaoru thought she was actually getting what she needed all from Reiichi. And seems like that's what the author wants to convey too, since there was that scene with Kaoru and her friends right after the wedding, asking her why she loved Reiichi and she couldn't pinpoint the reasons.

Sorry but we're going on cycles here, so I'm not going to respond to the essays. We have different opinions and better respect that you can't just convince someone to feel the same way like you do for a character. Sometimes the interpretation just depends on the individual and there's not a universal objective answer.

She wasn't serious. Having feelings for someone and thinking that she could act on it, but when the reality comes she goes "lol I was just messing with you" is different.

You've got the order of events backwards. She had feelings for her, got scared and ran away, and then steeled her will and came back with a serious attempt. There is nothing in the text or subtext that suggests she was anything other than resolved and serious from Valentine's on.

I didn't say otherwise, my point is different than Igarashi having no feelings. I knew she had even before this chapter, the point is how she acts about them.
There is no proof that if Chidori reciprocated her feelings and they started dating, that she wouldn't revert to her old ways too. Well since this is a story I guess everything can solve itself easily. But realistically Igarashi is a bit of manipulative as a person, and that isn't related to her gay panic but it's a part of her character.

I'm pretty sure she will get her happy ending here though.

Um, actually... that happens a lot even for people who are serious; to chicken out when things get real, and covering up in false bravado. Doesn't mean their feelings weren't true, but their anxieties were truer.

I didn't say her feelings weren't true. And it's understandable to chicken out. But what is not, is playing with the other person's feelings. And from how I see it in this story, she knew what she was doing. She was still calling her cute while knowing she likes her, and at the same time having a boyfriend.

I don't get why everyone thinks Tsubasa with do a 180 degrees turn here and is fussed about it. I just think she will maybe start wearing dresses or do some girly stuff here and there, but her tomboy style/haircut won't change.
It's just a common point for them to get closer.

Is this actually true that masculine women get hit on more by other women than feminine ones? There's this theme with Tsubasa and idk if it's because they mistake her for a guy or not

Wow the raws just came out today, and translated already? Thanks translators :D

These two girls following Tsubasa are like the roaches trying to get access to your room lol.
That last panel was hilarious. Too bad author didn't draw the continuation of Iwashita falling lol. The expressions here are really funny. And although there are some pairs I like seeing more, the author always manages to make them interesting in a way. Like Risa and Aya are the hot ones, but this one is the funny.

Can you really call Midori raising Haru though? She is already like 16 and Midori mostly act as her guardian and give her place to sleep. As was mentioned few times, they're basically strangers to each other. It's not like Midori picked her when she was a baby or very young like in Usagi Drop. All the actual parenting was already done by Haru's mom. If anything, Haru is more like a parent to Midori.

No she hasn't raised her. I was talking about the possibility of them starting dating after Haru has turned 18 plus the fact that Haru living these four years with Midori (Haru is 14 now). Because Blaastar mentioned them dating after a timeskip.
Also yes, intention matters too but the results matter as well.

I'm specifically referring to the possibility of the story getting romantic now, not making any assumptions that it actually will be, because we can't know. I'm still uncomfortable with the idea of someone raising a kid, and then dating them when they get legal though. (there's a term for that but I'm not going to mention it) If there's a time skip, I just hope it's after years or Haru being on her own and maturing without Midori around.
I normally don't say anything about stories like this and skip them, but since this right now is just a story with nothing romantic, I'm reading it because I liked the part with Midori and Haru's mom.

17 years age gap is not the same when both are adults versus when one is a kid.

Haru seems more mature than Midori and oftentimes she is the one taking the parent role despite being the kid and on top of that having to deal with her mom's death. Midori has still not out matured her high school self. Not sure if a relationship like that that would work irl, since 14 year olds are not as mature as Haru, especially when they have no parents left to take care of them. It just seems more like a wishful thinking but whatever.

I'm not sure if the author ships them? Or just wants to tell a story about a loss of a person and how they help each other heal. With manga you can't really tell since they never shy away from stuff like underage age gap, incest etc. I'd like seeing Haru doing more stuff with people of her age though. That Rika girl seems to have an interest in her, so if we're gonna have yuri here, hope it's these two.

Lmao this story should be renamed slowly easing yuri fans into straight stories. At this point, I'd just rooting for Kaoru to win Reiichi over Risako, if he didn't cheat

It is clear that reichii has a nonchalant attitude, he takes kaoru for his buddy... kaoru in a little desperate mode plays everything for the whole, finally there was not only uta in unrequieted love mode, kaoru also with reichii is at the same level.
Now kaoru knows that reiichi is cheating (phone conversation with risako who lied to her) she wants a escapement and that's where the turn for me comes in, is what reicchi is going to want to do at her request? it would have been so cowardly...

That's het story drama at this point. I thought Kaoru couldn't get more unshippable with Uta, but apparently not.
Basically we're just waiting to see how Kaoru and Reiichi's rs will end, while Kaoru loses her remaining self respect.

As I understand, Mao knew all along that it was her who MC worshipped, because she answered in her head to a statement about ice coffee.
Then MC just as well knew all along that it is Mao that she admires as a mangaka, so moving in to next door apartement isn’t really a coincidence.

Is it correct or have I read it wrong? If I am, then this is all levels of creepy...and interesting.

MC doesn't know Mao is the mangaka she admires. She even prays to the author for her to make up with Mao. If she really knew they are the same person she wouldn't do that.

This manga can turn out to be good. There's this setup of impending doom that might happen. If developed properly, it can be interesting. It's just that usually in Yuri, plots like this get outshined and underdeveloped for the sake of stupid highschool like romance, and the world building and plot becomes a secondary theme that is used to just flavor the romance part, or give them opportunities to be together.
