Fluttering Feelings is moving along just fine, nothing in the characters' development has been unnecessary (ie. no pointless or useless drama).

I know. I like FF so far. I'm just tired in general of waiting for main characters to get together, so I can have finally some good couple life. I got hyped by art and collage life setting and I didn't mind slow progress at first, but now I just want to see them as a couple.

Anyway, so far it looks promising. I don't like how fast they ended up in the bed though. I'm not big fan of "we just met and kinda hit it off so let's have sex" attitude. I wish there was little more character and relationship development before that, but I can overlook that.

This kind of things happens often in real life but i understand what you feel.

I was thinking the same thing. Single adults going clubbing are prepared, or expect, for that kind of thing to happen (an eventual one-night stand). That she'd hit it off with a woman makes it more interesting.

At least, we were spared the "she has such long eyelashes, she smells nice, kyun~ (what the hell was that?), bu-bu-but we are both girls, etc." antics. Emi just went with the flow and it's not like she hated it.

And it doesn't mean the characters and relationships won't be detailed more later.

It's like the story where the sempai confesses right at the start. It makes things more interesting to watch.

I completely agree. I'm delighted we didn't have to spend 50+ chapters waiting for them to finally get together (looking at you Fluttering Feelings, I was so hyped for you >.>). All I ask was like 10 more pages, showing off Emi getting attracted and feeling like giving it a shot or something. But don't get me wrong. What we got wasn't bad.

I know it happens in real life. I don't like this attitude in real life too. I guess I'm just too pure and naive, so I want real relationship before sex.

On a serious note, now that's what i call a refreshing yuri storie, with a sort of real setting. I'm so fed up with the usual "dramafest-full-of-misunderstanding-lovetriangles-barelyakissattheend", is it that hard for authors to come up with something new ... sigh

Finally someone understands me T__T

I didn't mind threesome that much (and I hate cheating with all my heart), because they clearly got carried away (horny teenagers, go figure) and it was all consented. Author even addressed it (instead of hand waving it as most hentais do) and shown that at least Natsu felt that what they did was wrong. I also agree that I prefer when there is some sort of story and character development than just straight porn.

One more thing in defense of threesome. They are teenagers who just discovered sex and because they are lesbians, they can't tell anyone they are together. So when one of their classmates not only learned the truth, but is interested in lesbian sex as well, I can totally understand them going with it, without thinking and regretting later (look Natsu). If anything I'm happy that this experiment didn't ruin their relationship.

How did you fall in she fall in love with that particular squid girl? I mean they're Identical right?

Do you really ask for logic in comic made by using setting of shooter xD?

If you want real answer, I'd say they can tell each other apart.

Also, to note that other hentai Weather Report Girl you have on the list.
It's forced sex, essentially rape.

Oh man -.- this is why I dont like adding hentai, thanks for the warning :). Ill take it right out. Not adding hentai UNLESS its exclusive Yuri and no rape... agh but asking no rape from hentai yeah that will never happen lmao
Edit: took right out, I'm sorry you had to see that lol. Everything else is not hentai so it should be fine now :)

Another note: might wanna add to Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke o that it's a hentai (Even if I hate just calling it hentai cuz its so HNNNNNNG ADORABLE.), ya know, NSFW.

That is why I call it yuri! xD

But seriously, I don't consider yuri (nsfw anime/manga with lesbian) a hentai.

Well, to be fair there's one reason. Possibly the most important one.

Stories are about conflict. They can be all sorts of things, from trying to stop (or cause) the end of the world, down to leaving the milk out overnight and having to regretfully pour it out. What we see here is a conflict that would be easily recognizable in the culture it was created, by the people most likely to be reading it. Which is to say, not us westerners.

That is more or less my point. I'm not against creating conflict, but no one said the conflict (almost) always has to be this issue. Just because it's common issue for them, doesn't mean it has to be common issue in mangas. Also. In my country, maybe not as much as in Japan, but this is pretty much still a big issue, so I get it, even if I'm "westerner" so to speak.

It's interesting how I was reading a blog post just the other day about reluctance some writers have to throw conflict in front of their characters, because they're your babies and how can you happily make their lives harder? But if you don't, you end up with a pretty flat story. I can identify though, as a reader. I don't want my babies to get hurt. But it's what a story needs, so what can you do?

I thought I explained my point well, but maybe I wasn't clear. After reading fair amount of yuri series and oneshots (at least available to me) I got the feeling in most cases, the conflict etc. is drawn from those social issues, and there is far too little stories focusing on different problems/aspects of dating person of same sex. We have a lot stories focused on how it is wrong and you have to hid it. Where are stories like: "me and my girlfriend has different taste in clothes so we argue a lot" or "we argue who should kiss first" or "who should be on top". These are just examples I came up with just now. Not every single story has to revolt around "us being rejected". Can I get some real couple stuff?

Probably overselling that 90% a teensy bit. If anything, I'd say 90% of yuri is wish fulfilment with little in the way of serious opposition.

Yea. That 90% is completely my personal feeling. I don't deny there are a lot of mangas (especially oneshots) who ignores those issues and just focus on fluffy feelings, but compare to them, amount of those stories that don't, feel like crushing majority.

And yeah, people want to read light and positive stories, but a diet of nothing but popcorn isn't going to give you good nutrition. Sometimes you need to read something with a bit of substance for good literary health. As Jefferson Airplane said, feed your head!

I didn't want to dwell into this, since my last post was getting way too long, but I know about it. My friend said it well: "When not everything in your life goes well, you want to read something positive, but sometimes when everything is great and you feel way too happy, you want to read something negative to balance it out." The problem is when you can find negative stories easily, but finding positive ones is hard and takes extra time. I read my share of sad ones, I want some happy now T__T

Sigh, it's really frustrating me, since I already read most of better yuri, and can't find anything new to get immersed into ;/

I guess I have to wait for same sex relationship stigma disappear, before I'll get bigger variety in yuri.

(BTW. don't mind me, I love writing long posts about my opinions, even if no one cares xD")

It's a little unfortunate that some people simplify these life struggles that many LGBT people face as a "boring, overused plot." Perhaps there is some truths as to why these tropes and plots are still popular today, it is still relevant in certain cultures.

I was thinking about it and my main complain about using those tropes/plots is exactly because they are still relevant. That is why when I read yuri I don't want to see it, because I have enough of it in real life. There is no point to throw it into a fiction too.

I don't mind when some yuri bases its plot around it or make a more realistic take, but because about 90% of them is doing it, it became boring and overused, even if it is exactly how it is in real life. People want to read something light and positive to take their minds from sad reality.

When you make shoujo, you can make tons of different plots, but most yuri feels like they always have to go same mandatory routine. I/we can't confess my/our love cos we are both girls. Then we have to worry about society accepting us. Then there is a high chance that we will be forced to break up because of that. And even if not, there is still a big chance one of us will still make a decision to break up "because it is for the best". See how limiting those tropes are? Sure, you can mix them into the story, but for once don't make them the biggest part of the plot.

For some time now, I'm thinking about different plots for a mangas, and I come to certain realization. Whenever I start thinking about story, I have to make a decision. Do I want realistic take on world or not? If I go with the later, then it is ultra simple. No questioning by main characters "if it's right for 2 girls to be together?". No drama from trying to find their way of existing in prejudiced society. I can just jump right into the plot and write whatever I want. If I want to go with realistic world, I have to take into account what both characters think about same sex couple. How other people reacts. It often slows down plot a lot and take focus from things I actually wanted to show, because I have to take extra time in order to solve "same sex couple is bad" issue first.

I get it that you sometimes want to read something realistic, that take this problems seriously or if you are person that normally isn't affected by them, so you want to experience it to some degree, but there is way too less yuri that actually goes other way and try to show us something knew. This is exactly the reason in a thread I created some time ago, people had hard time giving me manga that actually shows some other problems for lesbian couple than "people don't like it". Shoujo mangas can have all different problems and scenarios, but yuri is always hold back by "we are same sex couple, that is our gimmick".

Envy

Nothing is wrong I just find breast that big to be a turn off.

I agree. I find small/flat chest cute, but I don't mind standard C-D sizes. But all that F+ stuff just doesn't do it for me. I guess standard way off thinking "the bigger, the better" is not my thing. Too big breasts just ruins overall balance for me and looks awkward. Maybe it all boils down to me focusing more on character than looks? (I'm a girl btw xD)

Does anyone else feel like this Asami is a bit of a creeper?

I think she is acting just like half "cocky bishounens" you see in shoujo. "You say no, but I know that in your heart you want it. And if you still don't then I'll just charm you." Something like that. And honestly, I think it was just pure joke on idea how Korra tried to gently reject her and Asami just goes "screw it, still want you". You are looking too deep into it ;x

I feel guilty for reading this without watching the show...I'll watch it one day! But watching both series in the least amount of sessions is a real challenge

Honestly, you can watch Legend of Korra without worrying about Last Airbender. Yes, they mention a lot of characters from LA and you will have better understanding of the world, but LoK still explains everything well enough, so you should be just fine watching it first. Also sorry guys, but saying "and there is yuri!" is a little overstatement. There honestly are just few hints where romance is going, but I wouldn't call it blatant yuri we all know and expect. Watch it since it's a great show, but if you going to only for yuri, you will be really disappointed.

EDIT: What a fail in my own comment. It was last AIRBENDER not avatar xD. I did feel something was off x3"

Is this basically how it goes in the show?

In season 1-2 you have love triangle and after it is over you get subtle hints that Korra and Asami started to attract each other. Show ends with them "going on a trip to relax" which I took as good friendship, but is actually canonically stated as their beginning of dating. So if you want to watch it only for yuri, I dissuade you, but you should watch it nonetheless, as its good show and creators wanted to make canonical bisexual same sex couple, so you might want to watch it with that in mind. (Sadly it was "show for kids" so it's how far lgbt can go)

Okay, does the end of that last update make anyone else want to see the fanboys "accidentally" kiss in their excitement?

...Nah, not really

Hey, fair's fair.

To be honest. I love yuri and I'm acceptable person in general for all sort of things, but I just can't stand yaoi. Maybe its how it is always portrayed in mangas or my general dislike for men, but I find it awkward. Just the other day I was watching video about lbgt characters in games and when I saw a kissing scene from one of male Shepard's gay romance routes I shivered. I have noting against gays irl, but I don't want yaoi in my yuri.

That last panel would make a lot more sense if I knew what the boys were doing there with those...controllers? I don't even know. There's no context, although I'm guessing it might make sense to someone who plays.

I thought it was the real players irl ... Playing both as girls, but then it doesn't make sense that they're squids too!
I've been following these, I can't believe you got all together and translated thank you very much!

I think that's the same guys from earlier who observed the yuri as it developed. My guess is that they bonded over being yuri fans and proceeded to add each other as friends or something.

Maybe? It'd help if the little popup boxes at the end were translated.

The boxes only say そうだ which is just a general agreement expression. Kind of a "that's right" or I guess in this context it could be "you're right".

Maybe it's some message you can send in-game?

Also the icons seem to imply they've added each others as friends or something. (Probably because they're both yuri fanboys).

It's a Splatoon feature. In the city, other players that you have played with recently are hanging around. They can choose to show a Miiverse post they have made as a message to other players they meet, and you can voice your approval of said message by clicking a button with that stick figure +sign guy. So yes, they are simply voting their approval of what they are seeing. :)
Source: I play Splatoon.

As a side note, to those requesting more, this is the SECOND comic this author has made. Here's a shorter 2 page comic, translated by Splatoon Redditors!

EDIT: The other comic I linked is actually in the Eromame gallery on this site already...woops.

Yea. That last panel made me confused too. The icon looked like "adding a friend" with "sou da ne" (that's right) as confirmation, but I tried to find online how adding friends looks like in game, but couldn't find any video. Good thing that someone who actually owns a game, could explain that it is a like feature in the game (awesome idea btw.) Thanks ;3

Well I'm reading it already and starting to get sick off it. They aren't even a couple yet >.> (didn't read 37 yet, but still) It started really well and I don't mind slow build up, but common =.=

Nevri

Ah that is easy, Fluttering Feelings, and nothing but Fluttering Feelings. That matches all the things you want.

Hello everyone.

I'm kinda starting to get sick of trying to find stories that I actually want to read. If anyone can recommend me a yuri that:

  1. Shows couple's life. I don't mind if they don't start as a couple, but I wish to read something that shows how their are doing after getting together.
  2. Is overall focused on slice of life/comedy. I don't mind angst or drama, as long as it's not next forced to break up/love triangle driven drama. I'm tired of those boring cliche. I want to see some real problems.

Mangas off the top of my head, that would be a good examples of what I'm looking for:
Octave
Hanjuku Joshi

It really doesn't.

Ha ha, so true xD

EDIT/ Nah, It was just fitting to delete it and repost after I saw your post ;P

Nezchan

Most of Gokujo Drops take place after they've become a couple, and it's comedy to boot.

Finally, something I didn't read yet xD

Kyonne

Most yuris does indeed end right when they become a couple so i'm having trouble remembering some
Kisses, Sighs, and Cherry-Blossom Pink by Morinaga Milk does come to mind though, however it is licensed so you won't get to read it here

I know right ;/
I remember reading at least 1 oneshot from it. I'd have to check if I read rest.

SaxonSun

Mugen no Minamo ni - Horror/drama but happy end
Love Flag Girls
Torotoro Himeawase
Michiwarikusa Monogatari: Vampire After the Doomsday - Only one chapter translated but there are a total of 7 released so far.
Cross Heart

Only didn't read Love Flag from those, but thanks anyway XD

flips

flips: Thanks, but I read all of them XD"

Well, recommend taking a look at my lists, I mostly the easy-going slice of life comedy yuri in there.

Yea, I'll probably do so.

Random Reader

Nevri

Collectors is on my radar D:

Probably should jump right on this one. To me it's currently the pinnacle of non-school girl yuri with the couple long past the get together thing (told in some flashbacks).

And the only one that wasn't mentioned that I can think of is 20-Year-Old Girl x 30-Year-Old Maiden but chances are you have already read that one.

Ushio

hey! this is exactly my issue with yuri now lmao I've gotten so tired of the same formulas (cliches) over and over and over that it's like come on!! give me something different it!! As well as I hate that about 80% of them end right after they JUST finally got together after ALL THE DRAMA AND ANGST THEY PUT US THROUGH to only end it there!!. It's like COME ON!! what about after they get together?! If anything the real challenge starts NOW!! having to now live with the fact that they have to pay attention to another person's feelings, not just their own. having to come in terms with their real personalities (since after all now is when you actually get to know them!). What about the problems of thinking about the future?! Then we go to the good parts like getting even more closer to eachother than ever before. Getting to the point where you know your partner like the back of your hands!! Even having fights is ok sometimes!! doing cute couple things!! moving in together if they are adult!! Hey I wouldn't even mind having some drama in terms of jealousy with your partner wanting only for yourself. Sometimes its cute in couples (AS LONG AS IT DOESN'T GO OVER BOARD LOL). sigh

This has been a longstanding complaint around here and especially with me as well lol...

Yea, I read it already ^ ^"

About not much different yuri to choose from. That is exactly the reason I started to coming up with my own stories xD. So far I have solid material for one really long series (over 30 chapters at least), one 4 chapters short series, 12 oneshots and ideas for 4 other longer series, but they still need a lot of work. Honestly, currently all I need for them to become real is to learn how to draw at any acceptable level. If you guys are interested in that, I can give you some plot summary examples.

Anyway, thank you all for your responds <3

Hmm, does anyone know what Ayame wrote on the last page that was so bad?

I'm not sure. It's mostly random words, out of contexts. Maybe it's because she wrote it the way she would write a light novel, not a book report?
