Well, it is enjoyable to watch. They have an interesting relationship, but no, it's not yuri. Second season has some subtext, I suppose, and Akko's seiyu ships them, somehow, along with some of the crew members, but the director literally forbid the writers to pair the main character with anyone at all.

All the Mai Otome doujin are lumped together with the Mai Hime doujin as both titles from the same series. It's the same way all the PreCure doujin are together, despite there being numerous titles under the name "PreCure".
