Last time I proofread, I actually let pass this syntaxe/grammar(?) mistake: We're Friday (or something), because I didn't realise that it's actually wrong in english, no one (english speakers that is) says that, but sounded fine to me because "on est vendredi" orz ALSO doesn't help that it's likely I've heard that phrase before because people around me are bilingual ;u; (french + english speakers, for the most part) i feel like it's a mistake a lot of us would've made

Je garderais ça en tête est correct est souvent utilisé. En effet, traduire mot à mot une expression française donne rarement l'équivalent anglais; un bon compromis étant de dire ce que tu as en tête avec d'autres mots, apprendre les équivalents des expressions françaises en anglais et vice-versa étant la solution idoine.

Ce qui peut me trahir, c'est un oubli grammatical ou l'utilisation de mots assez peu utilisés couramment en français qui sont quasi-transparents mais qui sont encore moins utilisés en anglais. Mon utilisation de termes tels qu' "antipode", "gargantuesque" ou "magnanime" (les plus récents que j'ai en tête) peut faire deviner [surtout aux bilingues] que je suis français ^^

Tiens, je me permets de te diriger vers ceci, tous les proverbes français et leurs équivalents. Les apprendre au fur et à mesure affinera ta maîtrise et ton aisance en français.

And as for those recommendations, the only viable thing is Code Geass, which she has probably watched in the past, though I never hear her mention it before. She pretty much dislikes any sort of drama in anime.

Then watch those as occasional liberties. Not watching them is a waste, regardless if you like them or not. There are some anime that have to be watched, even just for general knowledges.

Iron of the Kabaneri was decent at best, I did enjoy watching it though. Akame ga Kill is in my opinion crappy too.

I may be wrong, but I bet that if you and your gf watched anime such as SGRS, CLANNAD, Code geass, GTO, Kiseiju, Usagi Drop, AnoHana, Rainbow ~Nisha Rokubou no Shichinin (an all-boy cast, but a masterpiece), Tanaka-kun wa Itsumo Kedaruge ect... You'd like them.
