Like, yeah, Mitsuki isn’t a child anymore, she doesn’t need to be coddled, but she still needs a guardian? Does she know how to do taxes? Pay for the store’s rent or whatever it’s called?

She has been actually taking care of the store for quite a long time (she's technically a part-time employee, but she is more than able to handle it herself). The taxes are paid by the store owner, not by the employees, no matter if the owner lives and works right at the store or does live half a world away. He would have to keep doing so no matter why until and unless he legally transfers the store to her - which he legally could do in just a few months of in-story time...

Also, I've checked and she indeed lives on the floor right above her uncle's shop, but haven't actually found references to her uncle actually being her legal guardian. Does someone remember if that's adressed at any point?

EDIT: It is, indirectly, in chapter 49. He seriously considers leaving Japan with Kanna while Mitsuki is still a little girl. Plainly he isn't her legal guardian at that time. Not gonna binge now the remaining 70 chapters, but I don't remember any reference to her being orphaned after that scene... My take is that she's just his favorite niece that he dotes over because he has no child of his own, and he's her favorite cool uncle that she pays more atention than to her actual legal guardians (because doting cool uncle, tha's why). Why she lives above the shop is anyone's guess, but since there are possible reasons that aren't a sretch of imagination (like her uncle having inherited a shp and his sibling inerithing the house above, just to name one), let's just gloss it over.

SECOND EDIT: I lied. I binged the thing. No, no referenceI could find of she being orphaned during that time, but explicit reference of Mitsuki's place being her uncle's house a few chapters later. So at some point after childhood, Mitsuki started living at her uncle's house, whatever the reason. From BEING her legal guardian, to the typical Anime & Manga plot of "go live at this uncle's home while you go to school at this different city", anything could be.

I’m pretty sure her dreams are JUST dreams. Karin isn’t a reincarnation of her mother, the dreams come from Hiro’s fear/anxiety about her dad and her getting together.

The dreams did start after she noticed how Karin acted around her dad (page 14, before they even started camping, and I imagine this is when Karin’s crush started) so I also don’t think her dreams are warping her perspective (and as viewers, we get to see more than what Hiro sees, and we saw that girl sniff that jacket lol) it’s def not in Hiro’s head

Hiro wasn’t saying Karin looks like an actress, she was just explaining that Karin is exactly her type by pointing out Karin has sharp eyes like the actress does, so the reincarnated mom theory doesn’t make sense imo cuz if Karin looked like Hiro’s mom, she’d point it out (I’m sure dad keeps pictures, she would know what her mom looks like) and I feel like it would’ve been brought up now

I’m assuming Karin has family troubles given she randomly asked to go with them and said she was jealous of Hiro for being able to say that she loves her dad (or the course the girl with daddy issues likes older men lol)

Given how Karin twitched when Hiro said
“WHEN I WAS A LOT YOUNGER, HE (Hiro’s dad) WAS AROUND EVEN LESS THAN HE IS NOW BECAUSE OF WORK.”
It’s reasonable to assume that Karin’s dad is absent because of work and has always been. Unlike her father, Hiro’s dad chose to make time for her, which also can add to that jealous feeling.

So, if Karin doesn’t have any of father figure she can look up to, has never been treated warmly by a man before, it makes sense why she’d develop feelings for Hiro’s dad, cuz he’s a nice guy and immediately treated Karin like family (which is prolly something she isn’t used to)

Karin’s dad not being present would explain why she’s able to just ask to crash out of the blue— she was probably feeling lonely— she’s def just as awkward as Hiro and since she doesn’t have a loving father to fall back on, she plays games as a form of escapism (this mayyy be a stretch but it’s plausible)

I highly doubt this will be anymore than an unrequited love— in the dad’s eyes, Karin is his precious daughter’s only first and only friend whom he knows Hiro thinks about all the time.

I’m sure she sees Karin as kid (like he does his own child) plus, he’s prolly not into dating— Hiro’s mom was his only lover and he’s been focused on being a father ever since she’s passed, so that’s prolly smthn he isn’t thinking about

Edit: looked back to double check, and while some of Karin’s flushing can be interpreted as her bein touched or embarrassed and not as a crush, the fact that we are shown her sniffing the dad’s coat leads me to believe the crush isn’t in Hiro’s head.

The dreams def made her hyper aware, but she noticed (and we can also see) that Karin had a certain look for the dad even before the dreams started

I kinda get MC for feeling like it’s not her business to pry but… she lived in your home basically for free (maybe I’m forgetting that she paid some rent or smthn?) aside from cooking and doing chores, she didn’t pay for anything. I feel like at that point, you’re entitled to know at least SOME of what happened.

Being unable to distinguish fantasy from reality is very dangerous. Niji is obsessed and super delusional.
I’m worried how she’ll react when she finds out about Remu and Azuki (I’m 99% sure her finding out is gonna be a plot point).

Also dreading Meguru finding out bout Remu’s secret, which I know will happen, cuz when has smthn like that not happened with these kinds of stories??

I wonder if there’s other players or if he’s reincarnated into a world separate from the game servers? It’d be cool to see him meet his friends/teammates eventually

It's appalling how so many isekai protagonists throw away their morality literally 5 seconds into the story.

Because “it’s just a game” they don’t view they world they’re in as real + MC described an “empty” feeling so maybe that’ll play into the MC not being so emotional to being suddenly transported into another world

I think the reason why Yuri is My Job! may seem surprising is the fact that it's not hosted on this site. I also forget it exists, because it's not updated here and I thought the anime adaptation was very mediocre and dropped it on episode 2 when I tried it. But I don't doubt it's popular elsewhere.

Blowing up at her was 100% an asshole move, I get hes stressed and as a noble, he’d have to set down a lot of his pride in order to bow his head to someone of a lower class.

Assuming she was a scammer is 100% not a logical conclusion, if she wanted to scam, she wouldn’t have rejected the gifts and revealed her hand was better til long after getting the compensation.

He wasn’t in his right mind when he yelled at her, so although it’s a dick move, it doesn’t mean he’s a dick entirely. The slap was deserved, and it’s great the engagement is going downhill cuz neither of them like each other so it’d have gotten sour sooner or later.

I’m expecting him to apologize in a few chapters (or even next chapter) cuz I don’t think the Prince is a bad guy, that’s not the author’s intent. Imo, the author’s intent it to demonstrate how the Prince can’t think well under pressure, whether it’s in a dangerous position (like with the monster) or when he’s put on the spot and caught off guard (him willing to bow down only for the maid to casually dismiss the need for compensation), he holds grudges and has an inferiority complex it seems + given how he’s the Prince, it’s only natural for him to be on edge all the time and paranoid, so while the accusations of MC being a scammer are unfounded, his feelings come from a past where either he’s taught to be paranoid or he was betrayed when he was younger.

Like someone else said (I think some one else said?) how he handles the situation from now on is what matters, if he’s able to cool off and apologize, see his faults for being hasty, then at least we know that he doesn’t let his pride get to his head once he’s not irritated.

I agree with your points. I feel like there could've been an arc where Yuzu had to confront her fears - if she was afraid of being rejected outright, or if there was a bigger risk to their friendship if they got together. The latter, to me, feel more believable of a direction? Like she loves her so much but is afraid of fumbling her and that ruining not only their romantic relationship, but friendship too.

Thank you, I feel like I’m tweaking out for caring so much but also with how every one else chalking it up to misunderstanding, it really feels like Yuzu rejecting Minami was building up towards a role reversal where Yuzu is the pursuer while Minami is more of a passive role, but because things were dragged out for too long, ppl lost interest so it wasn’t able to go that way

That was pretty much my thought, too. I know this series is inherently rather frustrating because of both the pace and the blockhead MC(s), but Koga finally getting the point via an analogy to music-listening is pretty damned brilliant.

A brilliant way to confuse Aya lol. Tho ig being indirect could make it easier to ease into the convo? I dunno
