I like this series. However, every now and then, I remember it was written by a man and that spoils it, just a bit, for me. It reminds me that it's just a guy's fantasy about life at an all girls' school. It's kind of the equivalent of the Cinamax sexy softcore porn movies about women's prisons, I use to sneak downstairs late at night, to watch when I was 13.

Sad a man can't do yuri without being tag as fetishist. Seriously, there are yuri hentai artists who are women. And also it's way less ecchi that it use to be and the writing is pretty good. I don't understand why the author being a man should change the way you see it there.

I actually find it so refreshing that a man can be so good at depicting yuri. Kishi-sensei really is incredible.

Is it me or the visuals are getting better with every chapter? I mean, they were amazing from the start, but it looks to me like they're getting even better. Like Miss Hu is becoming more and more masterful at putting her story into beautiful watercolor-like art with a cinematographic feel of perspectives and movement.

Look at the whole sequence that begins in page 5 when their eyes meet.

And pay attention to the transition from the last panel on page 7 to the lone scene in page 8. Check what happens to the background.

I'm glad Xiaoen has this stable farm job as the counter to her personality. She's so obviously charming and magnetic that I think it would be too much if she was also some sort of artistic bohemian hippie.

I don't remember if it has been clearly stated before, but I always assumed Xiaoen is a born and raised farm girl whose roots in peach orchard managing run generations deep. It never occurred to me that she could be an artist from the bohemian milieu who ended up working in Peachtown because reasons.

Well, whatever the case, this chapter dispels any doubt. Look at her finding some bum in her farm and going "GIT OFF MY PROPERTY!" on his ass.

When it comes to books, I'm almost illiterate, so seeing a book referenced of the handful I've read in my life makes me feel "Oh... so this is how it feels like to be cultured" I'm sure this won't happen again any time soon lo/

She likes the fox more than the rose. She has good taste.

I hadn't thought of it... but now that you mention it, it sounds plausible. It's a small town and most families must have close ties, so it wouldn't be surprising if these two are cousins to some degree.

Yunduo, against all expectations, gladly took the role of wingwoman for Xiaoen.

And Sixi is still a big dafty. That about sums it up.

I'm endlessly delighted by how cinematographic the art style is. The perspectives, the movement, the choice of angles... every sequence of panels is made to look like a camera is following the characters. It almost feels like watching a real movie.

I might as well spoil you: mc is not just Utena, she's also Char Aznable, LOL! No wonder she's a redhead! A red helmet would've been too much, so they gave her red hair instead. :P Anyway, in episode 0 her family is murdered by baddies and the big bad boss is Delling Rembran who is also Miorine's father. So mc is actually in a mission of revenge, just like Char, but she's gonna fall in love with Miorine, so... ouch. I foresee angst and difficult decisions.
