That's the same feeling I got from it. It's an inversion of the whole creepy "I got reincarnated into another world and ended up with sexy elf waifu slaves who adore me for no good reason" trope.

Yeah I feel like some people aren't understanding that this is taking various Isekai tropes, title included, and making an absurd self aware parody style gag series out of it. It's intentionally taking the piss and a shitpost lol

Interesting. Not impossible, but unlikely - I just reread the whole thing and found no foreshadowing at all... but it would be hilarious.
BTW, upon said rereading - I'm willing to fight anyone badmouthing Baldur and Maribel's love story just for being het.

Yeah I don't think there's any foreshadowing for it, but it would be an interesting surprise haha

Edit: Though maybe how strong Soara is? That could be the foreshadowing.

Internet comments are never, ever representative of actual reader enjoyment. People who are displeased with something are way more likely to seek someplace to bitch about it. This disproportionately skews online criticism toward the negative. Never use that as a barometer.

So the couple's life story was just a bait and switch for another pining romance story. Sad times.

I think the main couple are the most important characters still, we're just having side characters like Shiho explored and their romances as well. Shiho is an important character for this arc, but these events have led to better communication between the main couple as well and them growing closer. So in my opinion it's fairly well rounded.

I enjoy it, I just found Shiho's turnaround funny.

That's fair. I think for me at least there was a point where I had frustrations, but I've been having fun with it again since the main couple talked out their issues, and various characters have been communicating more. It seems though that a lot of people still aren't liking it, and I just hope by the end of the series they're able to find some enjoyment from it again.
