Does anyone know how well New Game!'s anime is doing in Japan? I want to know if we'll get a sequel with the next volumes' stuff. :P

It's doing okay. Not great, but not bad.
But that doesn't matter. Studio is Doga Kobo. They didn't make one proper sequel since 2012, even when their shows sold well. So there's almost no chances, anyway, sadly.

One thing to point out about Regalia is the great action with 2D mechas. I'm not even a mecha fan and I thought it amazing.

I saw that article. Skimmed through it and thought that there's a lot of misinformation there. And it was taking the word of some random otaku as absolute truth. So I ignored.

And that's the best thing everyone should do. But of course, idiots will attack them and give them reason, so I won't even defend them.

At the end of Tanaka-kun it's pretty obvious that the author probably doesn't even believe that homossexuality is real. Not only the yuri, but even the yaoi is tossed aside as nothing but a joke. Well...

That not really the author fault this time. The anime changed the order of the story compared to the manga, completely butchering what the author intended for. But the yuri is still pretty much alive in the manga, and even if it's never the focus, it's never treated as a joke either. And Oota-kun is still the best wife candidat

The last two episodes had Ecchan blushing over Oota, too.
I know the first time was just out of order, but was it like that these times too? It seems more like a running gag.

I didn't finish anything this season. It started out promising but it all went to shit eventually.

Anyone watched Tanaka-kun til the end? What happened to the yuri couple there? Did they completely dismiss it?

I might finish Koutetsujou no Kabaneri and Flying Witch but that's it. I've watched the most interesting part of Kiznaiver and have absolutely no intentions of finishing it now that I know she ends up with that other kid.

At the end of Tanaka-kun it's pretty obvious that the author probably doesn't even believe that homossexuality is real. Not only the yuri, but even the yaoi is tossed aside as nothing but a joke. Well...

I think the best animes this season were Anne Happy, Flying Witch and Sansha Sanyou.
Everything else I watched was kinda meh or bad.

Hmm, is there any end in sight for Orphan Black? Like you can for sure say 'next season is the last' or something like that? Also, what's the plot? Clones/memory erasing and planting new memories/multiple personalities?

Considering picking it up, cause I'm bored.

Pretty sure next season is gonna be the last. Like, 90% sure.
I don't wanna spoil too much but the story premise is about a bunch of clones trying to find out where they came from.
It's definitely worth picking up. It's genuinly one of the best series running right now and Tatiana Maslany (playing half the main cast herself) is like, the best actress in the world.

Also, this is the first time I see someone missing sarcasm even with the /s at the end of the sentence.

Actually, it's confirmed already that next season is the last.
It wasn't cancelled, though, it's the end the creators had planned.

It's my favorite series, actually. Pretty much the only one I get excited to watch. I need to find some new favorite series now.

There are characters who really don't care for men, although they aren't really men-hater. I think that if you'll end up using the androphobia plot device, there's usually a reason for that. Lesbian can think "men? Bleh" . But there's usually no reason to hate them. They don't need to think Much about them for that.

Talking about anime, of course, where usually they aren't bothered if they don't have some sort of relationship with men.

When I saw that there's a girl who is afraid of men in Love Live Sunshine I wondered why. She probably won't even Interact with guys for that to be more than an empty trait.

That'd be really great but I almost feel like it's gonna be more complicated than that, but I really hope it's going to end up like you just said. I mean, why would someone shoot Delphine (mabye purposely in front of Krystal so they have a ''witness'' for Delphine's death) and then just let her go to save the clones? What if Neolution is doing smth fcked up to her or trying to use her.

but we're getting closer to whatever it is.

I doubt Evie would even let Delphine live anyway. She has no use for her and wants to eliminate any chance of curing the clones. If she's alive, it's probably because some third party saved her. Maybe even someone inside Neolution, since there's a lot of people with different interests inside. We also don't know what Rachel is really planning. Who knows, she might have somehow manipulated someone to rescue her, and she really wants a cure.

I don't think she would turn back as a prisioner. Orphan Black is usually clever than that.

Btw is anyone still watching Orphan Black? I mean Delphine is definitely alive, I just could never believe that she's dead. And Krystal talked about her in present tense and I wont believe for a second what Evie said. Cosima's reaction was heartbreaking tho.

Agreed.
Also, She's pretty much the only one who can still save them now. I'm waiting for the moment they fall in despair no knowing what to do, and Delphine comes back with the cure

Even more with the dream Cosima had last season with Delphine saying that will be back to save her.

I'm doing something right now, actually. But english is not my native language and I'm using my story to practice it.
I'm not sure it's good enough to show to native people (and I don't know if it will ever be). I do plan to publish it on some fiction site in hope that someone will find it interesting enough. But I don't know if I have the courage to ask someone to read it.

Well...the action scenes are still pretty bad. It could pass as a professional work without them. But...
Anyway, I went to the page and saw that this manga was as "honorable mention". So the contest was over. I thought it weird that there wasn't one "winner", except by the big Murcielago image. Then I saw there's actually a 20th contest (this is the 19th).

http://www.square-enix.co.jp/magazine/yg/wanted/goldenegg/index.html

There's actually a 21th:

http://www.square-enix.co.jp/magazine/yg/wanted/

So...very old news? Unless I'm missing something.
This should be from the time Murcielago won.

They probably didn't anything more to put in the contest, but if all the others works aren't better than this, I fear for Japan's mangas future.

you're all judging based on visuals, cause we don't have any idea how the story really is without translation

Well, sorry, I know my japanese isn't that good, but those dialogues weren't that complex either.
Yeah, I didn't try to read everything, but what I did try was pretty bad.
Also, the art IS atroucious. Look at that scene she kills the werewolves. The mangaka clearly can't draw action scenes. It's on a amateur level, at best.

The manga didn't won anything. It's still a contest. It won't win, I'm sure of that, and you should too, if you know anything about mangas. This is worse than most doujins out there even.
It's not because it's dark. You can make it dark and a good story. This is not the case. If it was het, or it hadn't the rape scene, I would be saying the same thing.
I don't even know why this is here. Like, seriously, yuri fans are desperated if they'll read this.

She should be a werewolf but rather Wolverine-like. Look at how she finished off the male ones while attempting to get closer to the blonde girl. Male werewolves are lecherous, gah ! Het rape in yuri manga was just like cancer that can't be cured. I'm gonna regret if that happens again and again.

There's no way this will get a series or this mangaka will get work in the future.

I kind wish bad writers didn't try to make things too edgy. Or at least, not try to publish it. If they can draw but can't write, they should try to make a comedy, or a light ecchi.

But I don't think slice of life needs a conflict. YKK is probably the best slice of life story ever, and almost nothing happens there.

There are a number of small conflicts though. Battling the elements, trying to find a Misago who doesn't want to be found, worrying that the coffee shop gets so few visitors. And the larger, overarching conflicts like the fact that eventually Alpha will lose everyone dear to her except the other androids.

Conflict doesn't have to be big things, little day to day inconveniences or challenges (like the desire to take photos conflicting with the desire to conserve film) can be enough to drive a story.

That's the kind of thing this manga also has, though.

I like this because, duh, post-apocalyptic vampire lesbians, but it feels a little hollow. Slice-of-life is really great, but those usually have some sort of conflict typically with a co-worker or getting sick or something based in society. Being in a wasteland, there's no chance of something that simple. I feel this story would really benefit from a concise plot, like discovering the mystery of humanity's disappearance, or a cure to vampirism (even though we all want them to stay as vampires) but just some kind of conflict. Instead it just feels kinda messed up because it's like they're ignoring the fact that they're all alone. Maybe if we just had a chapter dedicated to showing what happened the day/week/month that the apocalypse happened, then I would like this a little more.

Actually, if you think about it, they made a point that the world became a better place with humanity gone. That's something, and it's interesting.

Or you can just enjoy comedy. Just a idea.

That would mean to be reasonable.

Part of the yuri fans are massive drama queens who go hysterical at the first sight of a male, can't expect them to be reasonable.

Because they... WE have traumas
Still, yeah... is comedy so no point in getting obsessed

Everyone has traumas. Het fans also hate a lot of manga that had a turn that they didn't like. Like NTR, or their favorite couple not getting together.
Hell, /a/ even has a "rage thread" everytime I go there that's just about posting manga pages that made them rage.

They don't think every manga will make the same mistakes, though. And here we have nowadays more yuri mangas doing right than things like Happy End. The fact you can pick one serie to show it so fast is because of how few of them are.

There, saved you some trouble.
Or rather, it could happen...on the very last chapter, that will come out sometime on the next five years, probably.

You people need to realize how 4koma works already.

There are counterexamples of what you say, like Poor Poor Lips.
Very good 4-koma manga mixing humor and romance.

Anyway, there is things that bugs me in that chapter, well I'm curious about that girl who saw through Ichinose. But what's really buging me is: who is the glass-girl at the beginning?
I mean, she has the eyes of Ichinose, but that's all.

It's not a random drawing, is it not?

Well, yeah, but that manga wasn't a MTK title. Also, it had hints of romance since the beggining.
4koma, gag manga, MTK title, short chapters maintaining status quo. If this becomes romance, I'll be really surprised.

She says she likes girls with big breasts and the guy asks if she has a boyfriend.
That guy is stupid.

No, I am pretty sure you are the one talking stupid right now.

what do you think the B stands for in LGBT?

He didn't even considered that, considering his surprise at the end.
And if it was the case, he would ask if she had a lover, not a boyfriend.

Actually, yeah, it's a pretty common reaction with girls in anime and manga, even those clearly straight.
I think the point isn't about not to appear slutty, but because those guys are only interested in sex, and they would rather have romance.

Correct me if I am wrong, really, please do, I want to be informed on this stuff because these assumptions are entirely grounded in the things that I have a "gut feeling" on when reading and my very basic knowledge about japan and it's culture but I feel like this is one of the many "pitfalls" you can fall in, given how anime and manga really more often than not try to push and encourage Wife-material, the loyal yamato nadeshiko big boobs, perfect body and pornstar hair not entirely optional or as I said, desirable female

Well, I can only give my opnion there, since everything else will be speculation, unless I actually make an interview with japanese people. (I don't think I ever read one about that).

But yeah, I think you're kinda right about that, but not entirely. Yeah, this kind of character is more desirable, sexually or romantically, but I think that in general, they're more sympathetic to their target audience. I say that because even male character on shows targeted to men are like that, not having a lot interest in making sex with a lot of girls and being more interested in romantic. Except in some more niche titles, the pervert character will usually be a stupid guy that will only end up bad.

I don't think this is a japanese thing, though, but a nerd thing. Just look at 4chan and how they hate those "normalfags" with their active sex life.
Even yuri titles clearly aimed at female usually fall on this trope, so it's not a thing to male japanese otaku either.
Actually, the people here on dynasty aren't different at all. Most work that feature more sexually opened characters will have a lot people hating on it.

But anyway, in this case in particular, these guys hiting on random girls at places are usually creepy and just want to use them, so I think it's natural to avoid them.

Also she "turned him down of course"

Would you like your friend to start following and dating some random bloke in your own body?

Since it was her first time being hit on, I think she could forgot she swapped body, especially since she was taken by surprise and panicked. I just find it interesting, that she said of course I turned him down, as if it was obvious thing to do even thought it was her first time experiencing it. You would think she would be happy about it.

It could just be a japanese quirk, as not to appear "slutty" at the first sign of being hit on but well, desirable ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Actually, yeah, it's a pretty common reaction with girls in anime and manga, even those clearly straight.
I think the point isn't about not to appear slutty, but because those guys are only interested in sex, and they would rather have romance.

A good example is the chapter in Shinozaki where Kaede is being hit on by some random guys. Akina thinks about how she's an otaku, so she's not used to it and haven't learned how to defend herself yet. She thought like that was common sense to her and her friends.
This kind of thing actually also happens in het stories with clearly straight girls.

So yeah, she turning down the guy doesn't mean she doesn't like men. But she being nervous and embarrased by it doesn't mean she likes men either. And we know she likes girls's bodies already.

Maybe we're reading too much into it and it was just for the sake of a joke "because now I have big boobs, guys find me atractive" (being nice or cute comes after big boobs) and she said "turned him down of course" because it wasn't her own body and of course she wasn't going to get in troubles.
We should be scared if a guy is properly introduced, with name and relevance.

You're right. But overreacting is how yuri fans work.

Well, I'm sure everyone realized, but I'll say it anyway.
She was like that because no one had hit on her before, no because it was a boy.
At least I know I would be nervous and embarrased if a boy hit on me, and I'm not gay.
