I feel sad about the ratio between CocoYaya and PapiCoco.

There's plenty of PapiCoco art. Fans of that can simply upload art of that here. And if it's got Japanese dialogue on it, then it's up to them to get it translated as well. Yayaka and YayaCoco lit the fire in me to get off my ass and actually translate something. The translations are a work of passion. Like I said in an earlier YayaCoco pic I uploaded: Die Translate for your ship!

Wew, I only got here because this showed up in the Most Popular section and the cover made the girls look like Mai and Reo from Sono Hanabira, and even when I realized it wasn't them, I thought "what the hell, why not read it".

Now, I have no real experience with fighting games or the community, and all I know is that the community has the reputation of being one of the most cancerous in gaming.

But I have played a few arcade games before, and a few competitive games as well, so I can, kinda, relate to stuff like character balance, arcade vs. home releases, etc. Shijou is milder than what I've seen from "competitive" video game players.

I'd rather have a sports manga start with 8 chapters of rules, explanations and metagame talk, whether I know already about the sport/game/other hobby or not, than 8 chapters of "iMpOsSiBlE ShOnEn aCtIoN StUnTs!!!111", no matter how "emotional".

The art is fine. The moeness is at about the level of Namori, but not Morishima Akiko.

Now that I think about it, the title suits the whole yuri subtext thing perfectly.

Actually according to the director they were females, just tomboys.

From what I read of the interviews, he said he had to compromise with the animator, Kojima, so he drew them as boys with girly features. I didn't read anything about them actually being girls.

Translator note: Ikemen is Japanese slang for "good-looking man".

Cocona's reaction is a reference to episode 7, where one of the male Papika forms gets wet and wipes himself (or something, I don't exactly remember), and Cocona blushes and makes a comment about ikemen. Yayaka reveals her bra lifting her shirt here, dispelling the ikemen aura slightly. I considered leaving Ikemen untranslated, but backed off, not wanting to call Yayaka a dude. All those male Papika forms left a bad taste for me, yuri-wise.
