I just caught up on the anime special novels, and...wow.

Special 3 was absolutely amazing. I just couldn't get enough of Adachi being a complete and total mess and Shimamura thinking lots of gay thoughts (plus the ping pong callback!).

Special 4, on the other hand...man. That was some heavy stuff. It was almost hard to read, but in a good way. It's actually nice to know that Adachi and Shimamura get to spend almost 70 years together, but it's also a really strange and sad feeling getting to see how all these characters' stories ultimately end. I mean, of course every person gets old and dies eventually, but it's a fairly unusual and unique choice on Iruma-sensei's part to actually show that and give his characters a definitive end rather than an open-ended future. Although, as Shimamura might say, I can't say I dislike it. This series is a masterpiece.

Anyway, my copy of Volume 10 arrived last week, and now I'm finally ready to start reading! I can't wait to see where the story goes from here.

I am not currently following this series, I like the author but I don't do well with subtext and the dead husband thing..well, I did read some chapters, I just pop up in case any actual yuri happens.

^ I actually have an easier time reading kanji (the elementary ones that is) than freaking katakana, :v ,being a Spanish speaker kinda makes it easier, but still!

^ Kind of irrelevant to this but I was immensely disappointed by the ending of Sora & Haena. I mean, it was never my favourite series, but somehow that was one of the most annoying timeskips I've ever read in yuri. (You already kinda spoiled this, but since it's not a Sora&Haena discussion I thought it better to cover it, idk)

I actually liked this one, I wasn't really expecting anything else with how it had been going so far. Though I can understand why people may find it frustrating.

For me at least, it's not about sex per se or Mei suddently becoming super expressive because she would be '' more fun'' that way. It's more about her not looking like she's in constant PAIN in 99% of the panels. Can't she be at least a little happy by now? It's all I ask.

Agreed. At least when Mei was (supposedly) keeping the secret of an inevitable arranged marriage her angst was explicable.

Then when Saburouta handwaves away everything standing in the way of a romance with Yuzu, Mei looks like she's been sentenced to life in a concentration camp.

This too, I am exceptionally bad with facial expressions and body language, understanding them, that is, but even I can't seem to find actual joy or something in that face of Mei's. I kind of thought she'd slowly get more and more honest and open, I see none of that, but, maybe there's 20 chapters left and she starts to open up by the end of the 19th.

Does anyone know how much of this we get to read to know if it gets "good" or not? I can see it's already good for some people, way to go. For others,eh not yet.

I liked this series so much, even with the free drama, but I agree with some people here, it does feel one-sided and it's not even about sex, I kinda accepted they aren't gonna do it even if they have 40 more chapters, but the emotional intimacy.. It kinda was around somehow at some point, now it feels, for me, a bit like "Mei: Ah, Yuzu you here, ok cool and Yuzu:Mei,I love you wan wanna spend quality time with you"

Meibot would do well to go ask the wizard for a heart sometime soon

:) PS I don't care enough about this to argue back, I love the art, and I am hoping good things (or good as I perceive them, should I say) will happen soon.
