Hmm... Could the voice of our thoughts be our ideal voice that we'll never have?

Pacing is slower than my grandma.

When you got no person to roast, so you roast some thing instead.

Suddenly a tint of blue in a world of contrasts.

It doesn't really pertain to the chapter, but I do wonder what the inner voice sounds like to a telepath. Would it sound like mute girl's voice from before the operation? Or does it not have anything to do with that? If I consciously voice thoughts in my head, I don't think it reflects my actual voice.
It can't be that she just "reads" the words literally like she would a book, because then she couldn't tell tone or excitement, right? This has always fascinated me.

We will only ever know if this gets a drama CD. Or preferably an anime.
But we can only hope at this point.

Merry Christmas!

Constant verbal abuse, asking for servile obedience, making her pregnant against her will... I don't care if it was the norm in Japan's past, no woman should have to put up with this kind of crap nowadays.

First: It almost sounds like you're implying that all that such a past is unique to Japan which it certainly isn't.

???
Care to develop your accusation? I'm not getting at all what you're basing it on.

First: I didn't stress any part of the sentence, so neither should you.
Second: In my defense, I started the sentence with "It almost sounds like". Repeat: "almost".
Third: It's honestly just based off of how their comment sounded in my head, honestly, which is a bad source to have, lol, so I'll just conveniently pretend I've never brought it out in the first place, because who can stop me from indulging in cowardice for once doing so?

Third, and not intended as a reply to you, but rather as a message to all conformist societies: It's the 21st century, dammit! Wake up already!

Shh, nobody saw anything.

Sounds like statist and/or capitalist propaganda, but OK.

I wish they had names

Their names are long-haired-chan and short-haired-chan

I thought the commonly agreed on names were Hime-cut and ahoge/antenna girl?

HIMECUT-CHAN AND ANTENNA-CHAN!

I remember one famous fantasy writer (I think it was Neil Gaiman, or maybe Diana Wynne Jones) who said the first thing you have to do in Teen/YA adventures is "kill the parents".

Good thing most writers interpreted that metaphorically. Imagine if most writers were to use that advice in the literal meaning!

It's not quite as metaphorical as you think. It is incredibly common for parents to be dead or killed in this genre. If it's a serious action adventure the killed part is more common, while generally "My parents died when I was young" or the like are used excessively too.
In manga they prefer the nebulous "away for work/overseas for busines trips" trope, which is probably a bit healthier, but the complete abscence of any trace of parenthood just adds neglect to the list of consequences.

For some reason, this created an urge inside me to make such an element to one of the backstories of characters in my pre-planned but yet to be started ADFOW series... Y'know, the one that I spoiled who knows how long ago that it will have a yuri couple... Tho I think I'ma reserve a fate like that - loss of one parent or other family member - for that Vietnamese guy character, and friendly rival (for military fame) of one of the Rojavan yuris.

I'm looking for some one-shots or doujins about two friends/childhood friends becoming lovers.

Try browing through this tag for anything that might catch your fancy

What’s with this epidemic of anime high schoolers living alone

It’s a very common trope. Sometimes it serves to indicate something significant about the character (they’re exceptionally lonely, or neglected, or they’ve had to act grown-up prematurely, etc.), but sometimes it’s just a “clear the decks” plot device that avoids including extraneous characters and allows the character to go places and do things without reference to parental control (and in romance series allows couples to be alone together).

I really want an anime of this. Can we hope?

We can hope. But that hope is basically all we got when it comes to that, at this point.

Still not sure if the running away is gonna be Midori finally taking up Maki's offer to run away, or Maki moving on from Midori and running away with the girl she's been chatting online.

I'm writing from the future. 2020 is not worth it guys, you should skip it.

It's only 6 days into 2020, and I have a sneaking suspicion that maybe Nevri is right

What with a direct war between the US and Iran being a stark possibility and a meteoroid that, if it comes at the right (or, depending on how you define it, wrong) time could blow up in Earth's atmosphere, AND climate change becoming so pressing of an issue over that Non-Compete yesterday made a video calling for revolutionary, rather than reformist, action against it... It ain't impossible. Yet these six days also featured the penultimate video of the History of Famana by the Sunset Productions, so it still remains to be seen.
