Not really? I always wanted to be a player.

Also I'd rather not be GM, because I didn't play many sessions as player and my experience at GM'ing is very limited.

Ah, I misread that then. My bad.

Regardless, I actually might pass too. Exalted seems like a neat setting, but I’ve kinda had my fill of more traditional fantasy as of late. Hope you guys are still able to find enough players.

Does that make sense?

Yes.

If we go exalted, would I be the one GMing, or does anyone else want to run a game?

Considering you seem to be the only one experienced enough to run session, I guess yes if you're ok with that. Unless someone else wants to raise to the challenge.

Didn’t you want to run a game?

Also, as someone who isn’t terribly familiar with White Wolf’s products? What exactly are Geniuses? And what is Exalted?

Depending on the day, though, I could still probably make it if you folks would be alright with me doing my readings at the same time.

What does that mean exactly?

I’d have the chat room/Discord/etc. and all the other requisite papers up on my computer and my textbook open on my lap. That way I could keep an eye on the game and respond when necessary whilst also finishing the required readings (which generally takes an hour or two, depending on the specific reading). It means my attention would be a bit split, but not terribly so.

I’d certainly be down to play VtM, if you’d be willing to run for a complete newbie. My schedule is a tad bit tight at the moment, though.

Don't worry. I imagine even if we somehow find enough people interested, I doubt we'd start playing right away. Speaking of which, kinda sad the 2 people who showed the most interest, probably won't see this thread considering they both only had 4 posts and only commented on images.

What were you thinking of for the format (voice chat? text? Map or no map?) and the time you’d want to run?

Last time we played we used chat room, cos that was the most comfortable way for everyone (especially considering english wasn't native language to most players). Idk if our GM used maps, but definitely they didn't show them to us. Time is the most problematic part, because we all live all over the world, so when (time) and when (day) we'll play will heavily depend on everyone's availability. 1 thing to remember though is that written sessions take longer, so we usually played around for 7 hours, but again it all can be easily adjusted based on all players.

Hmm... well the thing eating up most of my time right now is law school, so I highly doubt that will have cleared up by the time you are ready to begin (at least I hope it doesn’t). Depending on the day, though, I could still probably make it if you folks would be alright with me doing my readings at the same time.

Other than that, I’d definitely be interested in playing Vampire. The whole World/Chronicles of Darkness setting has always intrigued me. I even tried to run a Changeling game a year or two back (which didn’t go so well, but I still liked the setting), so it’d be cool to actually be a player with one of those systems.

"Nooo you can't kill him just cuz he stepped on your foot" "Haha head goes wosh"

Well, never figured that meme would make me laugh so hard. Nice.

How egotistic is Reiichi, to think that just because their marriage has failed and possibly ended that his wife would only resort to killing herself. He must be up his own ass to think as the only possible answer.

I think it had more to do with the, “I’m visiting my [dead] mother,” followed by the line suddenly going dead (her phone getting broken) and being unreachable afterwards. It’s one of those perfect storms of “oh shit” that can cause a person to panic and assume the absolute worse. I don’t think it had anything to do with his ego.

^I’d recommend 5e if you ever get the chance. It’s far simpler, mechanics-wise than previous editions (WoTC definitely designed it to be very first-time friendly), and as far as I know the designers did learn their lesson about trying to incorporate MMO mechanics into tabletop games.

@Azero25 If your looking to play 5e, I’d recommend looking into Adventurer’s League. It’s a big organized campaign that is hosted online and in various game stores (I know Pathfinder does something similar, but I don’t know the name). Obviously, your mileage might vary in terms of players and you do need to pay to get in, but it’s great for people who are just getting into the hobby since you can potentially drop in on any AL table with an open seat and use the same character instead of being reliant on a specific group that may meet up infrequently or simply be kind of meh overall.

Plot twist. actually walked in upon that scene and fainted from sudden yuri exposure, prompting her mind to interpret it as all being part of a dream in order to restore basic function. Nico and Maki are simply too embarrassed to correct her.

Damn, I mean, that was as good a place as any to end the series, and it wasn’t a bad ending either (would’ve liked to see a bit more yuri, though), but that was a HARD stop right there. All known Nomans have moved on, Mashiro’s left without her powers, Bazu has become baby... Basically, just about every avenue for a continuation (even one made independently) has been cut off (save for potentially a Society spin-off with a new cast). I’m not complaining, but it would be interesting to hear what made Neji choose to put that fine a point on the series, since they had a pretty neat concept going with this one.

Ok then, but who's driving?

Maybe he can use that arm spike thing he has to control the body like some demented marionette,

Alternatively he could just reach over and grab the wheel while his former partner dead foots the gas, but I think the first option is far more hard-boiled.

@BirdMBlack That’s not a tan, that’s them being steamed like a lobster. They even turn red.

@Rye I’d hazard a guess that Byleth is human. Both of their parents are basically humans. Their mother is an interesting case (that I’d dig into more if I remembered how spoilers worked) but is still basically human in design, and their father is a full-blooded human. Byleth themself seems to be human as well, minus that one part that was put in following their birth, and the rest of their body seems to function in the same way as a human being would, more or less. I’d guess they could get a tan if the game bothered to account for such a thing.

Why am I getting a sinking gut feeling that we just saw what’s left of the vanquished magical girls? Also, oh boy, things are heating up in all kinds of ways.

Loco said Baiser only has 2 stars, but she very clearly has at least 6, so either her count is off or we're missing something.

https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/looking_up_to_magical_girls_ch13#11

Here it mentions that it is the stars on their skin that count, so yeah, Baiser only has 2 stars but they multiply when he gets horny/excited. She doesn't have horns outside of her costume as well, so how are they not accessories?

Right you are, however, I wonder if the stars in her eyes are an indicator of anything, as no one else besides Baiser seems to have them? My first thought is that the placement is meant to represent that the full extent of her abilities are less obvious than some of the others, which would make sense since Baiser’s power seems to come less from her actual abilities and more from the ways in which she uses them to break her opponents.

What fuckin planet
If people can have a 1 hour plus commute to WORK surely you can drive home on the weekends damn

They DID say that more or less in the last chapter- that she would be able to come home fairly regular.

Remember there isnt just the drive- they live on a small island- who knows how often the boats are- maybe once day? So coming home after studying wont work- but like you said - Im sure she could manage some weekends quite often.

Didn’t they mention there being a bridge to the mainland at some point, or am I just misremembering? Otherwise, yeah, a one hour commute that includes a ferry would probably get a bit prohibitively expensive if done too often.

Welp, time to see how big this fan club is gonna get.

Every reader right now.

Imma borrow this screen-cap if you don't mind.

Girlfriend's Flashbacks

Yup, I’m got that same vibe. Oh well, the guy in that work wasn’t too bad and didn’t stick around for overly long, so hopefully Ajiichi takes a note from that and this new development doesn’t get too drawn out or overly dramatic...

I can dream, okay!

^^ Alright, let me clarify that. When I said “easily ignored,” perhaps I should have said, “easily forgotten.” In my experience, here’s how it goes. I look at the picture, I see the Clueless comment, I shrug, look at the other comments, look at some more pics, and by the time I finish, I can guarantee you that I won’t remember which one Clueless1 thought was best, or what they thought of the shading on another one. Like you said, no one cares about their rankings and the system appears to be entirely superficial, so why get so worked up about them? Just come in, enjoy the yurt cuteness, smile at the comments you like, forget about the ones you don’t, and continue on your way a little happier than you were before arriving.

Also, I’m sorry that not everyone in the comments is on the same “wavelength” as you, but that’s just kinda how things go. It’s an open comment section, and people are allowed to say whatever they want to about the image in question (so long as they’re not trying to start drama and are following the site’s rules) and express their opinions on whether or not they actually like the work being shown. It’s not fair to attempt to silence them simply because they don’t validate your opinion that yuri is cute regardless of quality.

Oh, and apologies for arguing semantics, but how is Clueless’ critique non-constructive (at least in this particular case)? It points out something the viewer doesn’t like (the way the muscles are drawn) and presents a recommendation for improving the work in their eyes (remove some of the contours and add more shading). It’s not put in the most encouraging way, of course, and I can’t tell you whether or not it’s good advice nor would the artist- if they ever read it- be obligated to make those changes, but it’s still fairly constructive in my eyes. Non-constructive criticism would be more like “I don’t like how the muscles look,” as that gives the artist nothing to go on and simply exists to put them and their work down.

@Bugpope @Throbelisk I fail to see why this is such a big deal. Clueless has done nothing wrong. All they’re doing is calling out their 3 favorite pics of each post. Yes, it’s an ounce outlandish and arguably arbitrary, but it doesn’t hurt anyone and they have fun with it. Now, if they were spamming, trying to start shit/drama, or just being a general dickhead, then I’d be right there alongside you to (in spirit, though, since I tend to lurk). As it stands, though, I don’t see any reason to get all worked up over a couple of short, easily ignored posts. No need to make mountains out of molehills and try to rain on somebody else’s parade.

The part about how "carnage was avoided" made me think that, actually, violence is surprisingly rare in these manga. (Well, 'surprisingly' if we go by American-European standards, of course.) In a yuri love triangle, you'll practically never find a scene where a girl attacks her rival in love and tries to scratch her face or yank her hair off or something. Japanese people sure are civilized, huh?

It’s almost like Yuri is trying to play up the cutesy/sexy/girly factor, and many authors are going to look at fighting as being none of those things.

Also, take a look at the bullying tag if you want to see just how vicious some Yuri works can get.

I wish it had been real hypnotism.
An easy twist would have been that she lost control of her body and only her thoughts in her head were free.

Well, the spell did say “weaken her heart,” so it could be interpreted that the spell made her more open to her friends advances, and increased her enjoyment of the whole thing. In that case, it’d essentially be a subtler form of hypnosis.

For people who read comments before reading the chapters... maybe take a pass on this one unless you're really looking for these specific tags. It's not poorly drawn or anything, it's just thoroughly unpleasant from beginning to end.

I don’t know, the promise of Mossad-esque retribution at the end there made me feel pretty happy.

But in all seriousness, yeah, I kinda regret reading this one. I physically gagged a bit near the end (not really at anything in particular, just at the whole thing up to that point), and I normally have a pretty strong stomach when it comes to this sort of subject matter. It probably didn’t help that I got the Kar98k mixed up with the Mosin-Nagant for some reason, and was expecting things to look up at some point.
