The real question is whether or not this will ultimately mean anything. One of the biggest issues with this series is that every time Kase acts like a jackass she sees little or no consequence from it.

I'm glad the story had a sweet ending after that sudden dose of heaviness.

^Yep, it's one of those endings that absolutely destroyed me, but there wasn't any other way for the manga to go. We got to see it time and time again with the other characters they met along the way. It's an ending that I love because it's a good logical ending for the series, but I hate it because it just destroys me. Given the context of the rest of the manga, a happy ending would have felt cheap and out of place.

Is the trope of watching fireworks at a festival with the one you love rooted in some sort of Japanese superstition? Like, if you partake in this activity with someone special, your fates are forever tied together? Or is it just a common trope because it’s cute?

I'm pretty sure it's just because Fireworks during the summer are a common thing in Japan.

It looks like there's an actual mini series with these two that released last year. I stumbled on it on Amazon a bit ago. They're three fairly short volumes. It's about $10 or so for the three. Considering how often I reread this manga, I was more than happy to pay the price, and it was great getting to see more of these two.

If I like a song, then I like a song. The backstory of the artist doesn't really affect that for me. I'd have to cut out a lot of the music I like if I let that kind of thing affect what I listen to.

Gotta admit, I dug Coping Mechanism. I'll have to give the rest of the album a listen later. I didn't even know Willow did music. Funny how radically different the song is from anything her dad did.

I believe the Magazine releases don't have them while the volume releases do.
