I don't know, if a person considers her/him/they are trans, then you know they are... But determinig if a non existing chatacter is... It is rather up to the author and/or the consensus of the fans to determine if it actually is...

Juste like art itself: it is one thing what the artist says the pice is about and another what the scholars decifer what it is really about.
