What is she playing? She says "Velvet has new moves" but the only Velvet I know is Velvet Crowe from Tales of Berseria. There's Elphelt Valentine from Guilty Gear and she's appeared in 3 games so I guess that's where she gets her new moves from...

apparently she's a sickly anime character and according to previous posts it's a meme that she dies. so i guess the author wanted to do a work about that kind of thing.

not like there isn't some buildup, like commenting on how she's getting thinner despite everything she eats and her wanting to at least lose her virginity because she doesn't have much time.

as i was reading it i was thinking that there's someone, somewhere, who feels that this translation is 100% for them

Has to be a deliberate troll on the translator's part. I can't fathom how the anyone would ever think that was a good way to translate that.
